Defroster / heater/ air conditioner control fails. This problem was suppose to be addressed in k17 recall. K17 recall was performed on 03/22/2011. Heater / defroster / air conditioner controls are still defective as per description of k17 recall. I believe this is a safety issue that Dodge needs to address. In the winter there is no defroster available and there is no way to manually switch to the defroster mode.

2003 Dodge Ram 1500 blend/mode door 1 replaced in 2007 for $300 out of pocket expense unable to use defroster to clear car windows. Broke again 2010. No dealer assistance or manufacturer assistance. This is unsafe due to unable to clear fog or frost from windows while driving.
Annoying sound behind the dash. This is cause by defective system on the electronics of the car. It concerns the recall with k17 reprogram hvac control head and inspec/replace actuators. This problem has been going on with this vehicle since new, here is 4 years later 2 repairs by dealer one replacement by owner and the problem still going on. The famous motor actuators for the vent opening and closing. Also the change of temperature while the ac is on it has its own mind to go to heat not allowing the full cool effects of the system. I have had this problem since I purchased the truck if this time get fix it will be at their own expense if not I down to my last nerve. Would have to seek legal advise. I have posted in carcomplains. Com a lengthy explanation for those who wish to read the whole story. Here it is Dec 5, 13 an it started in may 7, 10. An still not fix.
Air no longer blows out of defroster. Windows fog up.
A year and a few months after purchasing a new Dodge Ram 1500 pick-up truck, one day its dash began emitting a loud repetitive popping sound and the heater / a/c would no longer function in a defrost / defog mode. As I live in a high-humidity gulf coast area, this is a driving safety issue. My local Dodge service department investigated and found that this continuing problem was due to broken plastic "blend door". The Dodge service department was unable to fix the problem because according to them, the required part is unavailable due to a "nationwide shortage". At least 8 weeks have gone by with this same excuse -- I suspect this a delaying tactic waiting for the warranty to expire.
I have a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup, I have no defrost due to a defective door control in the heater box, I had it fixed twice under warranty and now it is out of warranty and the same thing happens again and they will not fix it. Almost in two accidents because of moisture on the inside of wind shield, please help, noone is making Dodge accountable!.

When u turn the signals on they go the opposite way or completely go off it causes the break lights to go out as well this is a major safty issue and can result in a crash this should have been recalled along time ago why havnt you done anything I my self feel this is a major safty issue it gives everyone a false direction and results "wreck" I have had multiple incidents with this it happens frequently I have replaced bulbs and it is not the problem the problem is in the factory screw up.
When heading to work, was going approximately 70 mph on the interstate when I looked in sideview mirror and saw smoke coming from my vehicle. At that same time, I heard a loud roaring noise for a few seconds, then my driver's side wheel came off. The wheel crossed over into the east-bound lane of the interstate (I was heading west), and the brake calipers broke off. Even though my brakes and tire were gone, I was able to get my vehicle to the side of the interstate without causing injury to myself or others. All this also caused body damage to the front quarter panel of my truck, making it difficult to open and close the driver's side door. I retrieved my tire and had a tow truck take my vehicle to the local Dodge dealership where I purchased the truck. They advised me they had never heard of this happening before. I've now been informed the repairs consist of replacing the hub, spindle, brake caliper, rotor, brake line, brake pads, and a new tire (the other tire blew out) at a cost of $2000. I have requested the old parts be given to me in case this issue needs to proceed with an investigation. I have done research that revealed the 2006 Dodge ram trucks were recalled for this exact same problem (wheel bearing assemblies not receiving enough lubrication at the factory causing them to lock up and cause crashes). But since my vehicle is a 2005, Dodge refuses to acknowledge responsibility.
My 2005 Dodge ram has an air duct flapper that broke and fell into the fan. Know my defrost does not work.
I have a 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 quad cab. My a/c, heat, or defrost has not worked properly since I bought it used in 2008. I can hear the flan blowing hard but hardly any air comes out of any of the vents. My concern is that it does not defrost my windows properly and could cause an accident in the future. I have been lucky enough to be living in texas for most of my military career but am planning on moving to a cooler climate and I know that not being able to defrost my windows will become an issue. It also becomes an issue on long trips when I can't get the cab cooled enough when it's 110 degrees outside and can't get it below 95 degrees inside my truck.
In Feb 08 took 2004 Dodge ram to dealer for no heat through floor vents, heat through other vents, dealer replaced housing with deflection door. On Dec 23, 08, same problem developed took to dealer to look at on Dec 29.
The contact owns a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500. The contact stated that the defroster is inoperative, which reduces her visibility. She took the vehicle to the dealer and they replaced the evaporator box. One year later, the failure resurfaced. She took the vehicle back to the dealer and they stated that they could not identify the cause of the failure. Currently, the remedy has not been identified to properly correct the failure. The manufacturer referred her to a dealer. The failure mileage was 60,000 and current mileage was 71,000.

2006 Dodge Ram 1500 windows have frost, ice,or fog on them making it impossible to see to drive safely. The dealership's estimate is for $850. 00 to replace a blender door with a new 2007 door because the original unit breaks to easily.
My air condition won't switch to defrost creating a safety hazard. Dodge is aware of the problem but acted like they never heard of it before. I brought it there 3 times to fix and the problem was never fixed. 2005 Dodge Ram 1500.
My sun visors have broken numerous times. Both sides (passenger and driver) have been replaced at least three times each. They lose their spring tension and hang down and create a safety hazard when my wife and I drive, because they will not stay up and out of the way. My vehicle only has 30k miles on it, I am the original owner. 8jb.
