1 Brake Light On problem of the 2003 Dodge Ram 2500

Failure Date: 10/17/2017

Abs and brake light remain on anytime my truck is running. Took it to a Dodge dealer to fix the problem. Quoting from my bill. . . "replaced wheel speed sensor. Further diagnosis revealed corroded connection at abs module. Need to replace abs module connection and module. Customer declined repairs at this time/quote for $1200. 00" I had already spent $191. 90 for wheel speed sensor above. Dealer says the abs problem is not showing as recalled for my truck's VIN. I have found a recall (d20 issued in September 2004) for corroded abs connectors on 2003 Dodge rams. Why is my 2003 ram not covered by this recall?.

2 Brake Light On problem of the 2006 Dodge Ram 2500

Failure Date: 08/20/2015

Upon restarting my 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 diesel, my abs light and parking brake light came on after driving a few short moments ,I also noticed that speedometer indicator was not working but the vehicle rpm indicator was. Causing myself some concern I checked my brakes and noticed I had a hard brake pedal when applied but was still able to stop. I contacted my local dealership and took my vehicle in for service for this issue and recall notice concerning the drivers air bag inflator. I was contacted back by my service adviser, asking for approval for additional two hours of diagnoses time due to the fact his mechanic could not find the problem. I was notified at end of the day that the issue was found to be faulty power distribution center, output failed for circuit f202 unable to recover tipm thru reconfiguration. No pdc available thru parts at this time, fabricated jumper lead to to circuit f202 from fuse 28 in pdc. This is a temporary fix customer advised to replace pdc ASAP current price $917. 00 additional 1. 5 hrs labor to install and program unit . Total hours for diagnosis was 3 hours at a cost of $315. 00 to customer. I believe this should investigated by the NHTSA as a on going concern and for consideration of a issuing a new safety recall for this issue.

4 Brake Light On problem of the 2001 Dodge Ram 2500

Failure Date: 10/02/2014

Brakes failed when applied. Abs and brake warning lights came on with very little braking. After hard braking application the tires locked and slid about 5 inches in damp backtop and hit a car stopped at a light. Had plenty of time to brake but no or very little braking action. Later inspection showed that one of the brake lines rusted through and lost pressure. This is the second time this has happened. These trucks are prone to brake line rusting. Driver seemed to be fine and drove away after exchanging info. He later claimed injury.

7 Brake Light On problem of the 2006 Dodge Ram 2500

Failure Date: 07/01/2013

The date listed is the first instance, today, March 3, 2015 was the 2nd, while driving towing a trailer and trying to come to a stop simultaneously the electric trailer brakes failed to energize pushing the truck into a skid and the abs failed to function, upon further investigation we found that the brake lights on both the truck and trailer were not working, talked to the dealer today and they said "OH its probably just the "tipm" or onboard power management system" as if this happens all the time. Neither incident caused an accident however for my part I have been towing trailers and driving trucks for a long time.

10 Brake Light On problem of the 2010 Dodge Ram 2500

Failure Date: 04/26/2011

The dealer performed recall k33 service today. Before service, the brake lights stayed illuminated about 1 second after the brake pedal was released. After service, the brake lights still stayed illuminated about 1 second after the brake pedal was released. The ps reservoir cap was replaced, but this does not solve the problem. The brake safety interlock for the shift lever also stays disengaged for the same 1 second when the shift lever is in "park". However, my concern has been and still is that my trailer brakes also remain engaged for the same 1 second interval after the brake pedal is released. This is most noticeable when stopped at a light. I have to release the brake pedal, wait about 1 second for the trailer brakes to release, then begin to accelerate. This puts unnecessary strain on my trailer brakes, and is a concern in wet or snowy conditions when the vehicle is moving. The trailer brake control works properly, and since the trailer brakes disengage and the truck brake lights turn off at the same time, this is obviously the same problem, and is not solved by replacing the power steering reservoir cap.

11 Brake Light On problem of the 2001 Dodge Ram 2500

Failure Date: 05/07/2010

I started my truck to head out to answer a fire call (I am a volunteer firefighter). The engine was cold, had been sitting for over 8 hours. At the first stop sign, I pressed the brake pedal, only to have it go all the way to the floor with no resistance and no stopping power. The abs and brake warning lights came on the dashboard. I pumped the brakes twice, and the system re-pressurized and started functioning correctly. I took the truck back home, and parked it for the weekend. Sunday pm I went to drive it over to the dealership, and when I started it up, the computer codes cleared and the truck functioned perfectly. According to the dealer, Chrysler is aware of the problem, and it only occurs when the truck is cold and within the first 5 minutes after starting. The engineers have no idea why it is happening. Obviously, since I am a volunteer firefighter, I have a tendency to start my truck and go, so this issue is very worrisome to me.

12 Brake Light On problem of the 2006 Dodge Ram 2500

Failure Date: 06/09/2008

Back in June of 2009 my right turn signal and brake light for the trailer stopped working. Then it started working again for a day or two. Now the have been out since I talked with one of the mechanics at the local Dodge dealership and he told me that they have had an issue with this all along and that the only fix was to replace the main power box under the hood. I still have no right turn or brake light on my trailer. If Dodge know that they have an issue with this electrical unit shouldn't they have to repair the issue under recall warranty. I shouldn't have to pay thousands of dollars out of my pocket for a problem that they know they have and refuse to address. I have been searching the internet about this issue and have seen thousands of complaints for this very issue. What can I do or who do I need to contact to get after Dodge so they will repair their problem with the electrical malfunctions they have. Is there any legal recourse that can be taken such as a class action lawsuit.

13 Brake Light On problem of the 2002 Dodge Ram 2500

Failure Date: 08/16/2007

During a routine stop at red light on 55 mph road the metal brake line ruptured where it is routed along the frame between the gas tank and frame. Rusted through, no way to inspect. Dealer reported this was a common failure on Dodge pick-ups. During this stop the pedal went to the floor, able to pump and get a little front brake, and the abs and brake lights came on in the dash assembly. I crimped the line added brake fluid and limped to local dealer for replacement. Dealer knows about problem so Dodge has to know and should change material or routing of brake line. George the consumer provided a repair invoice. Updated 09/05/07.

14 Brake Light On problem of the 2003 Dodge Ram 2500

Failure Date: 08/29/2003

Upon starting the vehicle, both the anti lock and emergency brake warning lights illuminated. The warning lights would stay on the remainder of the time that vehicle was being operated. The dealer was contacted but would not fix the vehicle free of charge because the warranty had expired.

15 Brake Light On problem of the 2003 Dodge Ram 2500

Failure Date: 02/01/2003

The vehicle without warning shakes violently and the only way to stop it is to slow down. I hit the brakes a couple of times and that only made it worse and controlling the vehicle in a safe manner was impossible. The only way to stop the shaking is to take foot off of accelerator pedal and ride it out, this creates another major problem. The vehicles behind you do not know what is happening and someone almost rear ended me because my brake lights did not go on. He passed me and honked his horn at me and gave me the "finger" self explanatory. This is a major problem and Dodge will not admit it to anyone.
