After driving in heavy rain. During the following day started having electrical issues the parking lights would stay on even when the switch was turned off the driver's side headlight would also come on. And the parking lights would either turn off or flash when the high beams were turned on this happened with front and back parking lights the only way to fully get them to stay off was to pull the relay or disconnect the battery. The problem is with the power distribution center and front control module the poor design allows them to corrode damaging the copper tracing and causing shorts in the system this is a common problem as there are several online forums dedicated to these problems with a lot of people having the same issues so I'm not sure why there hasn't been a recall for this since it is a major safety problem when it affects lights, windshield wipers and several other things that could cause accidents. My brother's truck is also having sign's of the pdc and fcm being bad. And at over $1000 to replace both for a manufacturing defect it's not right that Dodge customer's should have to pay that bill. I'll be attaching a picture of another board but the damage is the same and in the same spot.

1. The panic alarm randomly goes off without be activated by anyone. Possibly a tipm issue which couldn't be investigated because it randomly went away. Maybe it will go off in the middle of the night in my subdivision. Who knows it's unpredictable. 2. Right turn signal & stop light would not work on the trailer. I confirmed that it wasn't an issue with the trailer but it was a problem with the tipm (totally integrated power module) output (not working). The tipm has a long history of intermittent electrical failures. This is a safety issue and a vehicle investigation for all vehicles that have tipms. Tipms have been known to cause random vehicle stall & other intermittent random electrical failures and shut downs since 2006 when they were first put in vehicles. A recall is long overdue because this is only 1 example of a minor problem. I've only owned the vehicle for 1 week. . . What's next? tipms can cause the vehicle to act intermittently crazy. No warning lamps or fault messages.
The contact owns 1996 Dodge Ram 2500. The contact stated that while driving at night with the high beam on a strong burning odor was detected inside the cabin of the vehicle. The contact stated that he thought the burning odor was coming from outside not the vehicle as no warning lights were illuminated and the vehicle was functioning normal. The contact stated that the next morning the headlight switch did not feel normal as the switch was easily pulled out. The contact stated he removed the instrument panel and noticed that wires and connectors were melted. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or independent mechanic for a diagnoses or repairs. The contact stated that he ordered the parts himself and would do the repairs. The contact stated that he found manufacturer recall number: 918 for the 1994-1997 Dodge ram 3500 on line however, his vehicle was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and confirmed that the vehicle was not included in a recall. The approximate failure mileage was 54,900.

The room fcm power distribution module corrodes and causes electrical problems. Headlights can go out while driving, taillights, break lights etc. There is many complaints on the web about this issue and Dodge has not fixed the problem. I was driving at night and my headlights went completely out. Luckily I was able to avoid any accident and come to a controlled stop. If I had been on a curve I would have lost sight of the road. This is a well known issue among Dodge trucks. This is a safety recall as it can cause an accident and death.

Airbag light came on, a/c & seat heaters won't work. Cold start in morning, airbag light goes off, a/c works & seat heaters ok. Turn engine off, next start of engine, airbag light on, no a/c or seat heaters until next morning. First time this incident occurred vehicle was stationary, in store parking lot. Airbag light on during trip home. Airbag inoperable when light is on.
The dash has completely desegregated exposing all the wires, air conditioning unit, and airbag parts. This is a huge hazard because my headlight switch hangs with nothing to attach to. My airbags are completely visible and could explode at anytime. Everything that was in the dash heated seat, headlight, air system, radio, speedometer, and airbag controls are completely visible and all attachments are completely desegregated I do not know if this also caused the loose steering in my vehicle but I assume it did the steering wheel will turn about a quarter turn before it ever engages the wheels and when driving you must constantly move the wheel back and forth to keep the car in the road I feel as though this is a major issue that has not been recalled in the Dodge rams all models of my year truck that has been reported several times and should be fixed there are plenty of these trucks on the road still and all have the same issues I cannot afford another vehicle and would like for mine to be recalled and fixed so I can drive it safely without worrying about the airbags deploying or the steering being so lose it causes me to have a accident. When the plastic degenerates it also leaves extremely sharp edges that will cut you extremely deep I have been cut several times getting things from the dash pad I have lid across it covering the gapping hole. Thank you for your time and consideration . Side note I tried to upload pictures of the dash or what's left of it but it would not let me.

I purchased this truck a year and a half ago, and my tipm has gone bad. No rear lights at night. Have gone to dealership and the part is on national back order, and has been for some time. This is a common problem for this truck is what I've been told. It should be recalled by Dodge.

Vehicle experienced loss of lights due to electrical damage to headlamp switch and wires, which was documented and repaired in recall #99v024000.
The truck will not power the left stop lamp or signal lamp on any of my trailers; however, the left signal and stop lamp on the truck work perfectly. Dodge dealer indicated that the problem was in the truck's tipm which does not have a fuse for that portion of the trailer's lighting and burned out internally. Dealership indicated that the only way to repair is to replace the tipm which costs $1026. 00. Dealership also indicated that this is a major problem on this vehicle which they have seen before. There is nothing to indicate that the trailer lamps aren't working except to physically observe them. This tipm also controls numerous other things in the truck and info from the dealership and internet searches indicate there are many serious problems occurring due to them malfunctioning. These are defective units that should be recalled. Consumers should not have to pay over $1000 to make a simple light function, or deal with a worse problem.
Started truck to leave for work one morning and head lights would not come on. Dealership said it has a bad tipm.
The contact owns a 2004 Dodge Ram 2500. The contact stated that the running lights failed to illuminate. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 130,000.
Tl- the contact owns a 1996 Dodge Ram 2500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 50 mph the low beam head lights suddenly shut off. The contact examined the vehicle and discovered that the head light switch had overheated and melted causing the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 68,000. Jft.
Driver side rear passenger interior door lock and interior light does stopped working over a year ago. I figured it was a selonoid or a loose connection in the door so I put it off. Just recently 10/11/2015 I took the time to take the door apart and check all the connections. I had power to the speaker and window and nothing to the lock and interior light doesn't come on when the door is open. So I then checked for loose connections everything good. I then checked the connection between the cab and the door and I had a good clean connection. I then pulled back the rubber wire loom between the cab and the door and I found 4 unevenly cut wires. I did not fix them I left the connector disconnected. This is could be a extremely dangerous not to mention potentially deadly fire hazard. Some how the loom is cutting the wires and could result in severe injury and or death.

The contact owns a 2006 Dodge Ram 2500. The contact stated that while driving 80 mph, all of the lights in the vehicle and the exterior lights turned off without warning. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed that the totally integrated power module was defective and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 132,410 and the current mileage was 132,417.
Could no longer activate the high beams and windshield washer. After changing the multifunction switch was told the issue is in the tipm. Need to replace power module associated with fuse box.
Another issue with this truck tipm idleing in driveway horn honks by itself lights high beams turn on and off by themselvs blinkers work intermittenly this truck has been a pain I have made a formal complaint about the ball joints they have been replaced 3 times in less than 51000 miles Dodge dealer replaced them twice while under warranty but replaced them on my own the last time also steering gearbox snaped in half replaced that while pullin 18 foot trailer got stopped but could not get out of the road we spend alot of money on our trucks while Dodge makes alot of money building junk I have been offered 35,000 for the truck but I wont sell it to anyone to have these problems.
My 2004 Dodge Ram 2500 does not have working running lights. I cannot safely drive the vehicle at night. Per the Dodge dealer, they have diagnosed it as part number 68005476aa (fuse box/power control module). The part is, and has been, on national back order for a very long time. Apparently, this is a wide spread problem that others are experiencing in varying electrical/lighting ways. The lack of improper or non-working lights poses a safety issue. The non availability of parts makes a perfectly good vehicle non-drivable.
Low beam head lights come on and off randomly when in the on position.
My directional has failures, I will turn on to make a left turn and the right signal will flash. Sometimes the directional will not work at all. Sometimes it will signal right and then left all on its own. Then it will work fine. I found simular problems in forums for 2006 but nothing for 2005. I contacted the Dodge dealer service department and he knows nothing about a recall. I found an action number on your website, pe08059, with the same problem but different year and different type of ram. I think this is a safety issue, and there should be a recall.
Driver side highbeam will not work. Bulb is good, no power to socket. It costs $800 for a new tipm module plus programming. I cant afford to throw a thousand dollars at a vehicle every time a light goes out. I know that I'm not the only one with this problem. It wouldn't be an issue except the price now I am forced to wait and try to fix it myself.
Headlights- the passenger side headlight would come on then go off whenever it wants to and now the low beam does not work. I have tested the connection and replaced the bulb several times and still does not work. When driving at night it makes it difficult to see. And is also against the law to not having working headlights. Trailer lights- the drivers side brake light/blinker on any trailer that’s hooked to my truck does not work. I have taken it the a local shop (street dynamics which is out of business now) several times over the last 5 years to see if they can fix the issue. The fix was to put a jumper wire from the truck brake light to the trailer connector. I still do not have a blinker on the driver side of the trailer. Windshield wipers- the windshield wipers will come on and off whenever they want. Some times when it is raining they will turn on with the switch then will turn off while driving or will stay on after the switch is turned off. The switch has been replaced and did not change anything. It is dangerous to drive the truck during inclement weather. I am a police officer and have been for 17 years. In the last 12 plus years I have owned the truck which is a 2006 Dodge 2500 I have been told by several Dodge technicians and mechanics that the issues I’m having is being caused by the tipm. While researching the tipm I have found out all of my trucks issues are similar to a lot of other people’s 2006 Dodge 2500s. I have had issues with the trailer brake lights since I bought it.
Dash lights stopped working. They had went out once before but came back on the next day. After another day they went back out and haven't worked since.
While pulling a trailer the left side brake and signal does not work. This is due to a faulty tipm. The trailer lights work on all our other vehicles. We were actually pulled over by the state highway patrol because of it. This is a severe safety issue and from the research I've done it is a common compliant with the 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 models. We were told by our local Dodge dealership that every time this happens you have to take the truck in and have it "reflashed" but it can only be done 5 times. After that you have to replace the tipm but then you start all over again with it happening again. The tipm is not equipped to handle the tow package.
While driving my 2004 Ram 2500 at night, all lights suddenly turned of. After hitting the dash they came back on but would go on and off on their own. This has happened 10 or 12 times now in the past month but the dealer says it is not their problem. I was told it will cost $900 to repair.
Marker/running lights quit working. I was unaware that they quit working, all other lights were working. Danger to other drivers. Trying to resolve problem. Old part is available.
Turn indicator on 2006 Dodge 2500 pickup truck either fails to operate or when the indicator should be signaling for a left turn it is actually activating the right turn lights, sometime switching the direction as it is operating.
Right turn lights flashing when left turn. Signal activated.
The dashboard is cracking and caving in on itself as a result the lights go on and off while driving. Several other electrical problems are hapening.
The contact owns a 2004 Dodge Ram 25000. The contact stated at the directional signals and the windshield wiper failed. When the right directional signals was activated, the left directional would flash and the windshield wiper would not clear the windshield. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 70,000 and the current mileage was 136,000.
These trucks have been sold with faulty electrical systems that Dodge has not been able to correct with out costing the owners thousands of dollars. The tpim module constantly needs to be reflashed and replaced to keep your trucks electrical system working. They have designed this system so that the consumer cannot repair or even inspect the system which I believe is a violation of federal law. All of these vehicles have issues with the module and Dodge has made millions of dollars because of their faulty part. This module affects lights, wipers, a/c, cranking system etc. . . This needs to be looked at carefully and Dodge should be held liable to repair this problem.
The dashboard in this vehicle has been cracked and broken since 2004. It continues to break and chip causing pieces of sharp plastic to fall inside the inner dash area. When driving at night and attempting to change from low beam, to high beam, the lights will go out and will not be operational. You have to continuously flip the high beam switch multiple times to get the lights to come back on. This did not start until the dash cracked and plastic pieces fell inside the dash. Both of these issues continue to this date.

Travelling at night with high beams engaged when all lights went out. I made an emergency stop by the side of the freeway and the lights came back on. I proceeded and a few minutes later it happened again. Eventually I determined that it I left the high beams off it would not happen. Took truck to dealership and they diagnosed and replaced the multi function switch. Problem recurred about 1 month later. Replaced multi function switch on my own this time. Problem recurred again after about 6 months, this time hot/burning wires could be smelled. Took vehicle to independent mechanic and they finally diagnosed and replaced light switch in dash. By this time one of the wires had nearly burned all the way to the main harness. Replaced switch and all fine for about 2 years then it happened again. Been living with no high beams waiting for time to rig a relay to take load off switch. Chrysler has a recall for this problem but will not honor it due to my VIN not being one of the targeted models. . . Complete kaka!.
