7 Turn Signal problem of the 2006 Dodge Ram 2500

Failure Date: 12/31/2015

I have turn signals on my 2006 Dodge Ram 2500, but I do not have functioning trailer brake or signal lights through the factory installed towing package. This is the same problem no matter which trailer I am pulling. Checking for voltage states that there is low voltage due to the tpim. This occurred at 84,000. Also, while the vehicle is running the igination key can be pulled out. $1,000 is alot to repair a towing package and I do not know how long this would last.

16 Turn Signal problem of the 2006 Dodge Ram 2500

Failure Date: 08/02/2012

Driving in traffic at night and lost turn signals and brake lights on trailer almost caused rear end collision. Found problem was with the tipm or fuse box. The trailer wiring from the tipm has no fuse and is some sort of relay and can only be repaired by a dealer. Have found this to be a very common problem with other Dodge truck owners. Many different circumstances can cause this failure due to only a 15 amp limit before failure. Dealers say they can do a reflash for around $100. 00 and if that does not work the tipm must be replaced at a cost of $1000. 00 and this would be the case each and every time there was a 15 amp overload to this circuit. This is a serious safety issue as dealers or not open 24 hours or 7 days a week and also very expensive. This should be a simple fused circuit as it is with almost all vehicles and the repair could be made by simply replacing the blown 25 cent fuse found at all gas stations and convenience stores. I hope no one has been killed or injured over this same type issue.

17 Turn Signal problem of the 2006 Dodge Ram 2500

18 Turn Signal problem of the 2006 Dodge Ram 2500

Failure Date: 02/01/2012

Low beam headlights went out while driving came back on and went out again turn signals operate backwards turn on the left and the right comes on. Dealership says it is the tipm and it is a common problem, seems that it is an extreme safety issue to me that effects a lot of Dodge vehicles.

19 Turn Signal problem of the 2006 Dodge Ram 2500

Failure Date: 11/16/2011

Got a letter from Chrysler that I was supposed to get my turn signals fixed if I had this problem I did have the problem but it doesn't happen all the time, took the truck to dealer and they told me that they will not fix this turn signal problem if it isn't happening when they test it at dealer it is an intermittent problem and does not happen all the time but I believe that this is a major safety issue because if I am signaling one way and my truck is showing a different way that could possibly cause a crash or cause me to get a ticket. I believe this should be a recall and not just be fixed if the dealer can see it for them selves and was told by the dealer and Chrysler customer assistance that they will do nothing if they don't see this problem at dealer but I could be any where and if it happens im supposed to stop what im doing and take truck over to them and hope it is still doing it when I get there other wise o well. That's pretty much what I get from them.

32 Turn Signal problem of the 2003 Dodge Ram 2500

Failure Date: 09/30/2010

When I turn signal to left makes right signal comes on, when you turn right signal on makes left signal comes on. The lamp out light keeps coming on and going off when you turn the left signal on then off again. I checked none of the lamps are out. Has been took to dealer twice and had the wiring harness in the steering column fixed, it quit for a while and then starts the same thing again. The dealer claims using the tilt on the steering wheel is the cause of the problem. I think the problem is in the turn signal arm because it affects the signals and the wipers. I have talked to other Dodge owners who are experiencing the same problems. I feel there should be a recall on it because it could turn into a safety issue.

33 Turn Signal problem of the 2005 Dodge Ram 2500

Failure Date: 09/25/2010

I was in the left turn lane with my left blinker activated and my buddy that was behind me called me on the cell phone and said that my right turn signal was on. The inside one was indicating a right turn condition, but the turn signal handle was positioned for a left turn. The next day I hooked up to a trailer the next day and turned my left turn signal on and walked back to check my trailer lights and my right turn signals were blinking. I looked for this problem, but it is listed for the 2006 Dodge 3500.

35 Turn Signal problem of the 2006 Dodge Ram 2500

Failure Date: 08/12/2010

2006 Dodge Ram 2500 turn signal issues. Malfunctioning turn signals. Turn left signal on and right signal comes on intermittently. Sometimes neither side turn signals work. Moving tilt steering column seems to temporary fix the issue. Nearly had an accident while making a left turn and right blinker went on instead, vehicle following passed on the left hand side of truck because they saw the right hand turn signal flashing. Dodge has a TSB for this problem on the ram 3500, so they know what is wrong. However, they refuse to admit there is a problem on 2500 rams, and it should be forced to mandatory recall on both vehicles. There are several reports of other Dodge Ram 2500 with same problem in other online forums, and I personally know of someone with same problem on their 2006 Dodge ram.
