Dodge Ram 2500 owners have reported 53 problems related to turn signal (under the exterior lighting category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Turn signals do not blink properly, often times both come on at once. Windshield wipers suddenly go off during the middle of driving, which is not experienced very often due to it not raining very often, but it happens enough to scare me.

The opposite turn indicator light on the rear of the truck will come on when the turn signal stalk is operated, ie. Left signal when turning right. Near accidents because drivers behind the vehicle are anticipating a turn indicated by the lights.

On numerous occasions over the past couple of years my turn signal has malfunctioned. Try to signal a left turn and the right signal turns on and vice versa. It is an intermittent problem and could cause an accident.
Dodge ram has a problem that causes the directional lights to work in reverse. When the steering wheel is tilted and the left turn signal is turned on the right flashes and when the right turn signal is used the left flashes. This causes other drivers to think you are turning right when you really are turning left!.
The turn signals fail to function correctly, intermittently. Sometimes, when putting on the right or left turn signal, the opposite signal goes on; some other times, nothing will happen. Related, but less seriously dangerous: the windshield wipers fail to work; the windshield washers fail to work; and the high beams do not come on.
Since August of 2009, I have had problems with my turn signals not working correctly at all times. Issue: when I turn the right turn signal on the left signal comes on. When I turn the right signal on the left comes on. Occasionally, they do not work at all.
I turn on the left turn signal and the right comes on and vice versa.
The contact owns a 2003 Dodge 2500. The contact stated that the wiring harness failed and was repaired under warranty. On a separate occasion, the defroster and windshield wipers failed. While utilizing the driver's side turn signal, the passenger side turn signal would illuminate instead. This failure was also repaired under warranty. In addition, the contact was experiencing very hard vibrations form the front end of the vehicle. He struck a squirrel in the road and nearly lost control of the vehicle due to the vibrations. A local service dealer replaced the steering linkages in the vehicle at the contact's expense. He later received a recall notice for the suspension and excessive vibrations (steering linkages). The NHTSA campaign id number was unknown. The current and failure mileages were less than 120,000.
Turn signals intermittently stop working and worse sometimes flash opposite direction of what they should. Very dangerous. Dodge should recall this problem which is evidently happening a lot on 2006 Dodge ram trucks.

2006 Dodge 2500 mega cab. While sitting at a stop light in a left turn lane with left turn signal on, I experienced erratic timing of the left turn signal, and quick flashes of the opposite (right) turn signal. Moving the steering wheels direction seemed to remedy the problem, and I have not been able to duplicate the problem.
Turn signal displays right turn when put in to left turn mode. As well as inadvertently jumping from left turn to right turn. Also, windshield wipers will be inoperative during the times when the turn signals are acting screwy.
2006 Dodge trucks run their trailer stop and turn lights through the computer in the truck. Any surge or pop from hooking up the trailer will cause the lights to not work. Their is no fuse for trailer lights but there is for the truck lights. If you plug your trailer lights in ond touch it wrong you no longer have stop or turn signals for the trailer. Your only option is to go to the dealer and for 110. 00 they will check the computer to see if they can reset it or if you need a new computer for your truck. This causes you to drive around without lights since you have no ability to fix them yourself.
Back in June of 2009 my right turn signal and brake light for the trailer stopped working. Then it started working again for a day or two. Now the have been out since I talked with one of the mechanics at the local Dodge dealership and he told me that they have had an issue with this all along and that the only fix was to replace the main power box under the hood. I still have no right turn or brake light on my trailer. If Dodge know that they have an issue with this electrical unit shouldn't they have to repair the issue under recall warranty. I shouldn't have to pay thousands of dollars out of my pocket for a problem that they know they have and refuse to address. I have been searching the internet about this issue and have seen thousands of complaints for this very issue. What can I do or who do I need to contact to get after Dodge so they will repair their problem with the electrical malfunctions they have. Is there any legal recourse that can be taken such as a class action lawsuit.
2006 Dodge Ram 2500 diesel- the turn signal indicator frequently activates the turn signals in the wrong direction. I've noticed that adjusting the tilt column corrects the signal in most cases. There seems to be a flaw in the signal system that causes a short or something of that nature. I've had this problem since 2007, within months of buying the truck. It was infrequent at first and I neglected to take it in while the truck was under warranty. Now it happens almost every day.
