Front Air Bag Problems of Dodge Ram 3500

Owner/driver was making a righthand turn into a parking lot and was going about three miles per hour. As he was turning with his arm across the steering wheel, the airbag suddenly deployed. Driver's arms were pushed to the back window by the impact. The truck filled with smoke. Driver's right wrist was fractured and owner suffered tear in right rotator cuff that required surgery to correct. He will now need physical therapy. Driver is currently experiencing pain in left rotator cuff and wants to have it examined. Dodge will inspect the vehicle.

2001 Dodge Ram 3500, dash board has completely cracked apart with large section cracked out. It began with a crack extending from the defroster vent and encompassed the whole dash in a matter of weeks. Dodge has refused to acknowledged the problem even though it is wide spread. This is a safety issue particularly if an air bag deployment happened the shards from this dash are like a razor.

The other vehicle went left of center and hit my vehicle head on. Neither of my airbags deployed.

I have a 2004 Dodge 3500. The dash has two large cracks. One is above the airbag and I am concerned if the airbag comes out, will the dash come apart and hit the passenger.

Consumer's vehicle rear ended another vehicle in front at an impact of 30-40 mph, and neither frontal air bag deployed. Consumer reported no injuries. Dealer was notified. The consumer stated that damage to vehicle $9607. 80 using recycled parts. Chrysler notified the dealer stating parameters for airbag deployment were not met. The consumer stated the the vehicle has been repaired but does not know if the air bags work or not.

Consumer's vehicle was involved in a head on collision while driving between 30-35 mph. Upon impact, none of the frontal air bags deployed. Driver sustained bruises to right knee, when it hit the dashboard, and whiplash. Vehicle is currently at the body shop.

Vehicle was involved in a head on collision while driving at 25 mph. Upon impact, none of the frontal air bags deployed. The seat belt restrained the driver so he only sustained minor bruises.

Throttle became stuck, and vehicle lost control hitting a building. None of airbags deployed.

Consumer was traveling on a country road and fell asleep at wheel, and vehicle ran off road. Vehicle was still moving when he woke up, and hood came off and tore off passenger's side window. Also, headlights came off, and passenger's front was banged up and tore off. Upon impact, dual airbags didn't deploy. There were no injuries reported.

While driving on highway approaching an intersection, another vehicle failed to yield the right of way while coming off a side road, came across the road, and consumer hit the other vehicle on driver's side left quarter. Upon impact, neither airbag deployed.

(ram maxivan); while consumer was sitting still in vehicle attempted to start engine and both air bags deployed. Dealer contacted and aware of problem, manufacturer to remedy problem. Airbags were not reinstalled. Problem still exists.
