4 Gas Recirculation Valve (egr Valve) problem of the 2004 Dodge Sprinter

Failure Date: 09/19/2019

The t21 recall has completely ruined my perfectly maintained and stable work vehicle. Initially after having the recall done it left my battery dead as it left components running. . . It has been in and out of the shop for 5 months since the recall they keep throwing fixes at it which never seem to work! they have replaced the instrument cluster, egr, 2 pcms, and numerous other parts. It still has no power and surges and is blowing black smoke out of the exhaust. There needs to be a recall for the t21 recall as my van is still broken and no can seem to fix it. I am disappointed you would force a recall without proper investigation first. My van is useless now and its cost me 1000's of dollars in lost work!.

5 Gas Recirculation Valve (egr Valve) problem of the 2007 Dodge Sprinter

Failure Date: 12/30/2016

For the second time since we purchased the vehicle, the tube connected to the egr valve split apart. The tube is located directly under the cab air intake, so exhaust gasses are pumped into the cab. We were fortunate that the tube broke completely apart and the presence of exhaust was obvious. Since this has happened twice in 85k miles, I am concerned the next time it might just crack and cause carbon monoxide poisoning. The failure occurred on interstate highway 10 at 65 mph. According to the service technician, the tube ruptured because the egr valve stuck closed, causing pressure to build up in the tube. I have all the parts that were replaced and can ship them to you if necessary.

7 Gas Recirculation Valve (egr Valve) problem of the 2008 Dodge Sprinter

Failure Date: 06/20/2009

2008 Dodge Sprinter w/diesel engine has hesitation when accelerating. Problem began after about 10000 miles of driving. Because of the stalling when crossing intersections I've had several near collisions. Also when accelerating from a stoplight I've almost had people rear end me. The problem was corrected when the egr valve was replaced due to soot build up. Repairs were done under warranty. Now the problem is starting again and the egr valve is going to have to be replaced again. There seems to be no pattern as to when the problem started again. Problem always occurs at partial throttle, never full throttle.
