Blower Problems of Ford Contour

Blower motor failure. The blower controls the defroster and heater. The failure results in fog, frost etc so visibility is greatly limited. If one can see well an accident is possible.

Vehicle was parked in sunlight everyday; blower separated from dashboard and dashboard is now warped badly. No recall notice/ bulletin received from dealership in which vehicle was purchased from.

: the contact stated several problems occurred to the vehicle. While driving at 20mph, a humming sound was heard coming from the right side of the vehicle. It was taken to a local independent repair shop where it was discovered both right front and rear wheel bearings needed replaced. The brake rotors on the rear were replaced 5 times within a 6 month period. The heater blower malfunctioned and would not blow hot air. The vehicle was taken to an independent repair shop were the sensor to the heater blower was replaced.

Recall campaign 01v230000 concerning heater blower resistor. On two separate occasions vehicle caught on fire while idling in the driveway. Both times consumer extinguished the fire, and vehicle was taken to a repair shop. The mechanic determined that the heater blower was the cause of both fires. Consumer contracted the dealer and the manufacturer. Both confirmed that this vehicle was not covered under the recall due to VIN.

Top of front dashboard has delaminated and curled up to the windshield, preventing defroster air flow from operating. Problem became evident in Feb-Mar '04. Ford motor contends this is a customer satisfaction issue, and not a safety concern. Will not assist in $1400 cost to repair defect.

Consumer states that heater fan has failed.

Consumer states that dashboard is buckling,causing windshield defroster vents to move out of alignment. Consumer cannot defrost front windshield when necessary. This results in poor or no visibility.

Consumer states that the dealership didn't do the recall for the heater blower properly, and after the recall was done the heater blower was inopervative. Ts.

The dash board on my 1999 Contour has curled back and the vent mechanism has come out. Now, the defroster is obstructed and does not defrost my windshield properly. My windshield has now cracked. The dealer said this was the subject of a recall, but the recall is now "expired". Other problems with the car: the radio speakers have failed. The driver's side were replace under my warranty, but now that I am out of the warranty, the passenger side speakers are shot; the dome light does not turn on when I open the driver's door but it does when the other doors are opened; my blower motor stopped working and I had to have it replaced, and it now smells like it is burning when I use it.

Consumer is calling to report that dealership refuses to provide rental car for the time that the vehicle will be remedied under recall for the heater blower resistor. Please provide further details.

Consumer received recall notice 01v230000, and called dealership to set up an appointment to have vehicle serviced. Dealership refused service because consumer was not experiencing the problem as described by the recall.

Consumer contacted dealer in reference to recall 01v230000. Dealer and manufacturer stated this vehicle was not included in recall. Heater blower resistor and air conditioning unit were inoperable. Dealer neeed to replace blower switch.

The vehicle stalled intermittently without warning. One day the vehicle stalled 12 times. The engine light has been illuminated since purchased. Nlm the vehicle stalled the second day the consumer ever drove it. The blower on the a/c and heater failed. On one occasion the vehicle wouldn't start. It turned out the problem was with the alarm system.

Engine check light would lficker on and off but now stays on while driving. Have had it checked out no one can find the problem. Air bag light flashes on and off while driving mostly when you apply brake. Heater fan stoped working replaced it wasn't the problem, the pigtail connecting to a regulator box had shorted out and melted. Ford place said the whole pigtail wiring had to be replaced cost about $400. 00 to replace didn't have it done.

When turning blower on any temperature it does not work.

Heat blower failed.

The blower for the heaeter and a/c failed. Nlm.

Had received several recalls on vehicle springs, recall 01v230000, and heater blower sensor, recall 01i009000. Took vehicle to dealership's mechanic several times to have repairs done, even left vehicle with mechanic. Received call to pick up vehicle, and also informed none of the recalls were ever repaired.
