Driving my vehicle home from work at night got pulled over because I have no tail lights . The lighting control module that was put in from the recall is bad and now Ford says its not under warranty and I have to pay for it myself. Why even have a recall or issue a recall and fix something if you're not going to fix it if it's still messed up leaving consumers screwed.

I had my lcm recall fixed on my Ford Crown Victoria at 98,000 miles, the day I picked it up everything seemed fine, and then I went to use my automatic headlight and they were still un-operable. My tail lights and my parking lamps also do not work after this recall work also. I have tried getting the Ford dealership to call me back, and I cal everyday and they tell me they will call me the next day, and still nothing. Now my car has 127,000 miles on it and they still have not fixed the problem, and Ford says that it's out of warranty. How is a 3,000 mile recall warranty even remotely a good idea? I work 7 days of the week and I had to buy another grand marquis to drive while I wait for these sob's to call me after all this time, I very rarely drive at night and would have never noticed this if I had not went out to pickup my family member after 8pm.

Loss of park lamps while driving/parked not knowing it. When the issue occurs the vehicle looks to have driving running lights type operation when it did not come with that option. My dash stays illuminated. Kicking the lighting control module located under the dash (above right foot) can make the lights come on for a time frame that varies by temp around the unit. Season cold/hot climate does affect how it performs (ac/heat does play a role). I have no tail lights when the problem occurs. I have had the headlight recall performed (similar issue) that states the headlights may go out driving and the lcm would be replaced free of charge. I have paid a diagnostic fee at ramey Ford for a verdict of a faulty lcm. I have spoken to Ford relations over the phone about the matter and got nowhere and still have to foot the diagnostic fee. To me it sounds like Ford knows they fail but will not cover it unless its headlight operation. My vehicle is a safety concern at night to others. Feel free to contact me if you have any further questions.

Ford issued a recall for my 05 Ford crown vic. The dealer that has my car for the recall is unable to fix the situation. The lighting control module they were trying to put in my car is for a car that has auto lamps. My vehicle by VIN is not equipped with auto lamps, therefore the recall part they have will not work on the cars without autolamp option. To other people out there call a dealership have them check by VIN if your car has auto lamp option if not, do not take it for recall. They have had my car for a week without the problem being fixed. They are going to put my old lcm back in my car tomorrow so I can have my vehicle. In the end my problem with lcm still will not be fixed, so my tail lights will still not be working. Thank you Ford for not being able to fix the problem that is your fault. The dealers did not even offer a loaner vehicle for my time.
I was driving down hwy 39/ franklin street in village of linden it was dark out. My headlights went out. Then would not come back on. My tail lights and turn signals still were on. Then after about 2-3 minutes headlights came back on then went stopped working again. Was going 30mph and a car was coming towards me this could of caused a crash. In researching this problem this is a know problem for 2005 Ford crown vic this is a police car yet no recall has been issued.
I was driving at night and a car hit me in the rear. The other driver said he didn't see me since I did not have my lights on. I showed him that they were on but yet the tail lights were not. When I had a shop check for the problem, they said the fuses, bulbs and relays were fine. They said the problem is a common problem with this model and it is a lighting control module which costs over $500. They said Ford has known about the problem but still has not recalled the item. When I searched on the internet, I find a ton of people reporting this problem. This could have easily caused serious injury and/or death to all involved. I am shocked at Ford.
I bought my Ford crown vic 3 years ago paid 6000 dollars, within two weeks the windshield wipers stopped working, then the transmission went out cost me 2500, then horn would go off and would not turn off till I pulled the positive battery cable off. Two weeks later the blinkers stopped working, then the lighting control module started making a loud beeping sound, then my headlights and tail lights stopped working. I revived a recall letter from Ford and it says take my car to Ford dealership and they would fix it free of charge. I went to dealership and they said I had to pay 85 dollars to check and see if the lighting module was bad or not if it was they said they would replace it for free, but there could be additional cost to pay and I would not get my 85 dollars back no matter what. I have a small business of my own, and if I sold something that did not work I would feel bad and would have to fix or replaced it or be sued. What can I do my name is michael john krantz 629 belland Ave vadnais heights minnesota 55127 my email address is kzjmike@gmail. Com and my phone number is 651-703-0248 thank you.
I recently began having headlight and parklight/ taillight trouble when my headlights started to shut off while I was driving. I own a 2003 Ford Crown Victoria I still had my dash lights and tail lights working. Apparently it is some sort of design flaw in the lcm and it only applies to the low beams and constant on high beam function. The flash to pass function will still work though when it was malfunctioning. It seems to be on the lcm or lighting control module. Or the bcm.
