Failure Date: 09/15/2024

The brand new jayco grewhawk is making a whining sound from the chassis. I have not even driven it more than 50 miles. This vehicle needs to be recalled for whatever chassis issues or it could be transmission issues. I will take it back to Ford but this is really bad on Ford to sell brand new rvs with such whining sound coming from the chassis. Please alert the new owners about the issues . 8 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2022 Ford E-450

Failure Date: 01/10/2024

We operate numerous 7. 3l Ford engine equipped vehicles in our fleet of ambulances. Over the past year we have experienced 4 engine failures of this 7. 3l engine in vehicles ranging form around 60,000 to 90,000 after exceeding the service recommendations stated from the manufacturer. I have contacted the Ford pro fleet experts and have asked repeatedly about what could be causing the failures, trying to figure out if we are doing something wrong in our maintenance or operation. They assure us we are not doing anything wrong, however we continue to lose engines. Each time the repair bill is around $12,000. We have been lucky that Ford has offered financial assistance, but now that has gone away. At first, we were told that we were the only ones experiencing these failures, but now I am hearing from other operators of similar vehicles that they are experiencing the same concern. We cannot afford to keep replacing engines in relatively new vehicles, especially when there is an apparent defect in parts or standard operation. Symptoms we experience that lead to engine replacement are loss of power while driving caused my multiple cylinder misfires. Loss of power while running an emergency call pose a significant safety risk to operators and patients.

12 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2021 Ford E-450

Failure Date: 10/01/2021

We received the two recall notice letters from Ford motor company, 20v795 & 22v089, for our 2021 jayco redhawk class c RV. Upon receiving the first recall notice, 20v795, an appointment was made with our local Ford dealer, spradley Ford Lincoln Mercury, in pueblo, CO, on oct 1, 2021 to have it inspected and recall taken care of. Upon arrival that morning, was told they did not have the parts, would have to order them & their technician just called in "sick". Appointment was rescheduled once they had the recall parts in for Nov 15, 2021, again at our local Ford dealer, spradley Ford Lincoln Mercury, in pueblo, CO. Upon arrival that morning to drop the unit off for the recall repair, was turned away again & told I'd have to reschedule as they had a break-in overnight & their technicians' had some tools stolen & would not be working today & they would have the service manager call me to reschedule the appointment once again, which never happened. In March of 2022, we received the second recall notice, 22v089, advising to take it to the local Ford dealer for inspection & repair. I called the Ford dealer, now alpine Ford, in pueblo, CO, several times having to leave a message without a return call. On April 6, 2022, I spoke with jeff in service at alpine Ford & was informed alpine Ford would not do the recalls as the new owners refused to do them after purchasing the dealership & referred me to camping world. I had an appointment at camping world in colorado springs this same day & they contacted Ford dealers in pueblo, colorado springs, canon city, & all refused to handle the recalls. I called Ford corporate & expressed my displeasure with dealers failing to comply with recall notices causing safety concerns for use of the unit & was told the were not "refusing" to do the recalls just did not have any technicians or locations except maybe o'mera Ford in northglenn, CO, who might handle it, which is unacceptable as they are 2 hours & 100 miles away.

This vehicle is a motorhome, build on the 2005 e450 cab/chassis with a gas v10 engine. While driving in a single lane construction zone on the interstate the electronic throttle body system failed, and the engine suddenly stopped responding to the accelerator pedal. As a result the vehicle suddenly lost power and slowed to a very very low speed (a few inches per second). As traffic approached and built up behind I inched the vehicle onto the shoulder. The vehicle was unable to move under it's own power any further and required a tow. It was an extremely dangerous situation on a crowded highway, in a construction zone, with my family.

Our RV has a v-10 engine. We drove 244 miles to the beach on thanksgiving week. No problems until we had to stop and wait on a parking space. We turned the engine off and when we restarted it a spark plug blow out of the engine. It broke the piece on top of it. We were broke down at the beach on a holiday. A hele cord was used to repain the plug. Is this a temporary fix or will we be stranded again. We only have 33,000 miles on the RV.

19 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 1999 Ford E-450

Failure Date: 01/28/2015

Ford v10 triton blows up a spark plug while we are looking at the engine our RV filled with propane, with my handicap son and grandchild in the RV. Heard a loud lifter noise, pulled over to look at the engine, as my husband was looking at the engine then the loud explosion thought we blew a motor I came out to see if my husband was ok, thank god the plug coil and other stuff missed his head. Fuel, coil, propane this is not a good mixture for getting your RV to the repair shop, this engine is a deadly and someone is going to die the spark plug and other stuff shot out as if from a cannon! this RV we use take my ventilator dependent son james to his doctors? appointments, one of the main reasons I bought this RV was for my handicap son. This RV we take on our family vacations with our handicap children in this RV full of propane,. Ford needs to correct this problem with the engines before there is a catastrophe. Do I get this plug repaired in (hopes) it stays and does not blow up again? is this not take a chance on (hope) this does not happen again while on the road? and (hope) it does not ignite and (hope) the full propane tank does not explode?.

20 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2007 Ford E-450

Failure Date: 07/01/2014

Employees were driving truck on a level road, and it rapidly lost power. They stopped and called me, and I told them to check a number of things. Everything looked ok. Brought the vehicle to Ford dealer, and was informed that the fuel tank was rusted/rusting on the inside. They advised me that the tank, sending unit, and fuel pump needed to be replaced, before they could see if the injectors, fuel lines, and turbo were damaged. I checked on the internet before authorizing the repairs, and was astounded by the amount of people that had the same exact issues. The tanks are defective, and delaminate, therefore clogging the fuel system. They repair bill that I was quoted before we even got to the engine, was $3700. 00+tax!!!. This is unreal that the NHTSA has not forced a recall yet. Does someone have to die first? some people reported repair bills of $11,000+!! I am a small business owner. I paid $45,000. 00 for this vehicle, maintained it religiously. The truck only has 66,000 miles on it. There have been numerous complaints to the NHTSA, and it has been reported that this has been known about for some time. There are also some class action lawsuits that are in place. I cannot afford this repair. I will get a petition going to ask the NHTSA to recall these vehicles. If the NHTSA knows that there is a problem, and someone has an accident and kills someone, would that not have the NHTSA shoulder some blame? is this another cover up like the general motors ignition recall? I urge you to please recall these affected vehicles. Ford knows that there is a problem, and they immediately blame it on fuel. I have 6 trucks that all run on diesel. The only one that has this problem is this vehicle. I would like someone from this agency to contact me ASAP. This truck is a main source of income for me and my employees, and it I sitting at a dealer for 5 days so far.

21 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2002 Ford E-450

Failure Date: 02/20/2014

We were travelling north to south just outside of lasvegas when a spark plug blew out of the cylinder, with the injector still pumping fuel. In our 31' motorhome with a e450 engine. Did we not realize the seriousness of the situation the engine could have caught fire and caused extensive damage and possible injury. As a result this cost us $7200. 00 and the loss of use of our vehicle and home for 10 days. We have asked Ford motor company for some renumeration towards the cost of repairs because as we soon found out there have been thousands of these vehicles with the same problem. But because the vehicle was over 6 years old they would not provide assistance. We feel that even if we were compensated for the parts would be a fair response, because this situation could have resulted in a liability lawsuit. We would appreciate any assistance you can provide us with our request to Ford. Thank you,.
