1 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 03/01/2021

Vehicle stalled while reversing into a parking spot. Barely started. Stalled a few seconds later after completing the reverse into parking spot. Barely started again. Got on the road and driving fine a few hundred feet, vehicle stalled almost ran into a group of parked vehicles. Barely started again. Made it to the highway to go home and while driving at just under 55mph limit vehicle stalls in the passing lane. Almost caused a wreck with several vehicles including a semi. Didn't start for a few minutes. Vehicle stuttered to start and barely turned over. After it started I sat there and watched the tachometer, it would, without myself touching or doing anything, idle then jump a little and dip a little over and over. There seems to be no certain situation or reasoning for when, where or why it would stall, complete randomness! highway driving, slow stop and go city driving, reversing, it seems to do it completely randomly and unexpectedly but always while moving one direction or the other. Straight line, turning, fast, slow, didn't make a difference. Finally was able to get off the highway, came into town and I was able to stop at all the lights and go but then out of no where again doing close to the 35mph limit it stalls again and this time I was at a 6 way intersection and almost hit another moving vehicle. My family will not be riding in this vehicle again until something is done! this is not normal or safe! not for me or anyone else on the roadway! I have no clue as to what the issue could be except that it's the manufacturers issue. It doesn't make any since. Vehicle has never been wrecked, above average maintenance intervals, completely maintained but this is something more than regular wear and tear as one would say. Not safe at all!! could have killed myself, my family or someone else with this problem!! needs attention ASAP! extremely unsafe!.

5 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 01/17/2015

I just been told by koons that I would have to pay 1,300 to fix a throttle issue on my 2008 Ford Edge, which I purchased as a used vehicle labor day special 2014. The car stalls, stops, acceleration is affected. Ford knows the throttles are faulty and instead of recalling, they did a customer satisfaction and agreed to repair affected Edge from 2009-2014. This is bogus I have 2008, which that has this issue. I refuse to pay this and don't have the money to invest in junk. Koons told me because of my hesitation I was investigating in a car that has valued equity & would offer great trade. They knew. . They yet put me in another dangerous car. I had accident as well, driving CA lost speed & stalled while crossing over in parking lot.

6 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 08/02/2014

The vehicle stalls at low speeds and at red lights and stop signs without warning and without great consistency. This happens multiple times per day/trip with no resolution. Dealer and independent mechanic cannot identify the problem as no codes are thrown when it happens and it restarts after stalling. This is a significant safety issue.

7 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 06/09/2013

While driving my car, all of sudden the car just stops with the dash board displaying everything. When try to restart the car, it sounds like the car is trying to start even after releasing the key but it doesn't start. All power is lost except for the lights and radio. The car will eventually start after a couple of minutes and you start driving and it happens again. Had car towed to auto repair place where diagnostics didn't show anything. The mechanic did drive the car and it stalled on him. He thought it was the "fuel kill switch" because it reset it and the car started. The switch was replaced and the car ran fine for 2 days then while driving on the highway started loosing speed and was unable to accelerate. The rpm's decreased then jumped up like the car had restarted. This happened twice then I lost all power and had to coast over to the shoulder.

The contact owns a 2008 Ford Edge. While driving 5 to 6 mph the vehicle stalled. The contact stated the steering wheel and the brakes locked. She turned the vehicle off restarted it; although it began to function normally, within a few minutes it stalled again. She stated that the lower the speed the more the vehicle would stall, the brakes and steering wheel would also lock. The higher the speed the vehicle would stall but it would restart automatically. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer who reprogrammed the computer on July 19,2010. The failure recurred several times. The vehicle was at the dealership when the complaint was filed. 10 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 04/10/2009

The contact owns a 2008 Ford Edge. She stated that while driving at speeds of 75 mph, the vehicle stalled. All instrument panel lights illuminated on the warning panel. She was able to coast off of the highway and contacted the dealer. The dealer could not duplicate the failure. The vehicle stalled three additional times, each time the vehicle was taken to the dealer and the failure could not be duplicated. The dealer advised installing an event data recorder (edr or black box) in order to pin point the exact reason for the failure and also replaced the starter, under warranty, in hopes it would correct the failure. The contact was concerned with her safety and the possibility of a crash. The vehicle was in possession of the dealer. The failure and current mileages were under 19,500.

11 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 01/21/2009

Ongoing transmission issues since purchased new. Been to repair for more than 17 days and issues still remain unresolved. Took car in for regular scheduled oil changes and repairs. At approximately 30,000 miles the camphasers ( Ford admitted wrong camphasers had been installed) were replaced. Coolant problem discovered as well when vehicle engine was removed. Odd odor coming from heater, when vehicle returned after camphaser and coolant issue did not resolve situation, and vehicle returned to galpin Ford service, was told that axle and bearing were broken and that the steering wheel was not in proper position. I am deeply concerned for other Ford Edge owners as well as members of the public who may be affected by vehicle that does not properly engage and appears to stall before moving forward. . . . This is an enormously serious issue, that should not be ignored. Reading the prior complaints, tells me this is not a new problem, and that consumers and Ford are aware of the transmissions issues. Please assist.
