1 Horn Assembly problem

Failure Date: 09/30/2017

Driver's door ajar warning light stays on even when door is closed. Interior lights stay on for a while after you start driving. Doors will not automatically lock and if you lock them they will automatically unlock when driving. When exiting the vehicle and you go to lock it, the horn sounds twice indicating the door is not shut, and the interior lights remain on for a while. Real pain. Ford needs to get this figured out and recall these defective vehicles.

2 Horn Assembly problem

Failure Date: 10/17/2016

Door ajar warning message on while driving or parked. Causes interior lights to stay on 10 minutes before turning off when parked. Interior lights will turn on and alarm horn will sound intermittently when parked. I pulled the fuse for the horn relay, don't know when it will sound. I feel it's unsafe to drive without a horn. While driving doors do not lock in fact they unlock after locking them with lock switch.

3 Horn Assembly problem

Failure Date: 05/28/2016

Vehicle has begun to show driver door ajar at all times, even when slammed several times. This causes lights in cabin to remain on and drain battery when parked and even causes horn to begin to beep at all times during the day and night. Also causes doors to lock or unlock while driving or while parked and left unattended. Not secure for children to ride in car since locks are not reliable or to leave the car since you may return and vehicle has unlocked. This is very much a safety concern since it is impossible to back up or drive with the cabin lights on.

4 Horn Assembly problem

Failure Date: 02/23/2015

Door ajar warning light comes on every time we get into the vehicle and never goes off no matter how many times we close the door. Doors do not lock as car begins to move. Dome lights stay on for extended period when we start driving and after we have parked the car at end of trip. Back up camera doesn't function some of the time, and it never functions completely as it should. Car horn goes off at random times while car is parked with no one near it. It is a random sounding honking, not the consistent honk it makes when the panic button is pushed. Radio sometimes will not turn on, and sometimes when radio is on while driving, it won't turn off, even after car is turned off, key is taken out, we get out of car and lock it. Syncing system doesn't work right. Phone calls disconnect randomly. Battery warning light comes on sometimes when we turn car on; and dash display is delayed or doesn't come on. We have not had the car stall or start a fire as yet, but are afraid that may come next, as we have ready the many complaints about the 2011 Ford Edge problems and have found so many people have documented these exact complaints we have listed, and others have had the very dangerous stalling or burning problem. How we hope these problems will be investigated and Ford will be forced to fix these dangerous problems before someone is injured or killed because of them. How can Ford not have addressed it yet?!.

5 Horn Assembly problem

Failure Date: 11/20/2014

The drivers side door is definitely closed. Car doe snot think so. Dash warning light is on. Dome lights on. When using the clicker to lock the doors the horn beeps a couple of times. Weird stuff. I do not know if this is going to cause safety problems or not. This Edge also has back brake problems. The back rotors and brakes have been changed twice already due to corrosion. Bad design. They get really hot and must be slightly in the braking position then until changed. Winter in minnesota - salt and Ford's better idea. One more thing: when we change the temperature settings the computer things we want air conditioning. This causes the windows to completely fog over under certain conditions. I have had numerous talks with Ford motors about this safety problem. They do not get it and basically blow us off because of cost or lack of understanding. There are complaints filed.

6 Horn Assembly problem

Failure Date: 05/30/2014

Door ajar indication on dash for both the driver side front and rear doors began to be intermittent even after the doors are shut tight with multiple closures. Car lights would stay on and car battery would be discharge (would not start and electrical system failures. I had to removed the interior lights front over the dash, rear ceiling lights and trunk lights to prevent the battery from discharging. Battery still be discharged but less fast. Car now begins beeping horn when the battery gets low. Car will not lock unless the key fob is a significant distance from the vehicle. Car has keyless entry and will not lock under any circumstance. Estimated repair will be over $400. 00 and this is not guaranteed to fix the problem will not re-occur since Ford has not fixed the design of the door lock assembly.

7 Horn Assembly problem

Failure Date: 02/24/2014

Drivers side door latch mechanism is defective. After closing the door the sensor which detects the door being shut is not activated properly. The instrument panel indicates that the door is ajar. The interior lights stay on until the vehicle is in motion. Most seriously however is that while this problem is occurring, the vehicle doors cannot be locked. None of them. A child in the back seat could easily open the doors while the car was in motion. Even if the driver pushes the door lock button to engage all 4 door locks, they pop right back open after a few seconds. The remote will also not activate the security system when you are outside the vehicle. The horn chirps twice indicating that the doors are ajar.
