The door ajar light will stay on even when the driver's side door is closed. It takes multiple times of shutting or slamming the door to turn off. When I drive with the door ajar light still on, the doors will not automatically lock, which is unsafe. About 10 instances within the past two months, the car alarm went off for no reason, both day and night in different locations. If this continues to happen, it can run the battery down. I got a diagnostics test performed on the car for $95 and it is a faulty latch in the driver's side door. The Ford dealership estimated it would cost $510 + tax.
I just bought this 2012 Ford Edge. It worked fine at the dealer. Now after ii get it home, the lights will not go off and the car battery died. I thought it was an old battery. Bought a new one. Then I noticed the door light wouldn't go off. Now I have a car I paid 140000 for and I can't drive it because the light will not go off which drains the battery. This should be a recall for Fords. I am amazed it is not. We need something done to fix this so we can drive the car. I do not have an extra 650. 00 to fix it temporarily.
Door lock assembly, although door is completely shut, door ajar alert stays on, which causes all the lights to remain on and it does not allow you to lock your doors, which is a safety issue when you have children who could potentially open the door while in motion. Some lights remain on after door is closed which can drain battery. Issue occurs regardless of whether the vehicle is stationary or in motion.
Backup camera is upside down. Less than 92000 miles happen only when is reverse. When shifted into drive picture remains and take several min. To return to normal. While waiting to return to normal functions no functions are able to be used.
While driving my 2012 Ford Edge limited with less than 60000 miles the vehicle just died in the middle of traffic, no steering, no power nothing. The problem has happened close to 15 times.

A wrench warning would just appear on my dash and my car would totally just shut down. I can be on the highway and this happens. . Happened 2 more times then finally took it to Ford and they replaced my throttle body for 750. 00. Picked car up and 2 days later happened again. Took back to Ford and they said nothing is wrong.
Alert that driver door is not closed and unable to use key pad to lock door.
The door ajar light will turn on and will not be able to turn off unless the door is shut multiple times. It may also turn on when driving as well.
Front passenger door causes light to stay on as door ajar. Per Ford it is the latch and needs replacement at $517. Same door repair was made 1 year ago and Ford chose to clean latch instead of replacing when it was under warranty. Now warranty has expired and they say latch needs to be replaced. This is the 3rd door that has had this same problem. When door ajar light is on doors will not lock causing a safety hazard to my children as passengers.

Driver door alarm/sensor/light. The door light continues to stay on after the door is closed. It will ding after I let my food off of the break, the rest of my doors will not lock (safety hazard I have two kids. The kids are able to open the door when I am moving, I have to have them push the lock down so it will be locked), we continue to shut the door to make it go off. This has clearly happened to other 2012 Ford Edge models. It is an expensive fix and it a safety hazard. This happens everyday, parked, on, off, driving, what ever the circumstances it's happening. We have to make sure not to leave the keys in the ignition or the battery will run down.
Door ajar light stays on. Unable to lock doors which makes it to where anyone can et in car. Also the lights stay on so it drains the battery. And you cant drive at night because the inside light shines in your eyes and you cant see the road.
The door ajar warning light on the dash when the door is closed. There has been no accident or damage done on the door let alone the vehicle. I understand there is a latch malfunction. If not caught when exiting the vehicle the alarm then goes off after an hour or so. The door sensor seemed to clear itself and we managed to not use it after getting it to clear and all of a sudden driving down the road the warning popped back up on the dash, door ajar.
The door ajar light comes on when door is completely shut on the drivers side, it prevents from my doors from locking and I have children in the car. Also, as I was riding down the road, out of no where the door ajar sensor comes on and interior lights come on and all the doors unlocked by themselves. . . Soon as I locked them back, they unclocked again on their own.

The door ajar light and warning sounds alert when all doors of the vehicle are definitely closed. This has caused me to ruin 2 batteries in the last 1. 5 years. Also it causes my door locking mechanism to not engage while driving leaving me vulnerable and unsafe as a female driver. My Ford dealer will charge me +$500 to fix the 2 faulty mechanisms, then probably another +$500 when the other 2 begin not working.
The driver side door sensor does not register the door as closed when it is. The dash warning light comes on and stays on and the interior lights do not shut off. The driver side door has to be closed up to 30 times before the sensor registers the door as closed. The dash warning remains lit and "shift to park" comes on when coming to a stop at a light.
Forward collision avoidence sensor blocked warning message on dash illuminated following rain rendering collision avoidance system innoperative. It comes on after a couple of miles driving.

Varying numbers of door closures are required to get the sensor to reset. Makes no difference if door is slammed or shut gently.
While driving the car shuts off and a wrench pops up on the dash. Lat time it happen my wife was driving in an intersection . Than 2 more times in a 4 mile drive . We had this issue before and had the throttle body replaced about 8 months ago and that worked till now. My wife is to scared to drive the vehicle and I cant say I blame her .

Door ajar sensor . . . This is causing my dome lights to just come on going down the road and tank goodness when this happened there wasn't another car near me because I would have crashed into them because it blinded me. Also my doors want lock when this sensor is messing up. I have already had one replaced and now another one I think this is a major problem and Ford will not recognize it.
Driver door ajar light stays on or comes in intermittently. This will cause dome light to come on at night and blind me, also causes doors not to be able to lock. These are grave safety concerns of mine where I have a seven year old and on the occasion I have to drive through "unsafe" neighborhoods to get home. Door latch ajar warning. Doors are unable to stay locked. It is unsafe. The warning light for "door ajar" and "put gear in park" comes on nonstop while driving.
