Power Door Locks Not Working problems of the 2013 Ford Edge

Door ajar light stays on when doors are definitely shut tight. Sometimes the door locks will not automatically lock when the car is put in drive. Sometimes the dome lights stay on which can be a problem at night.

I have been having numerous problems with the passenger side door latch always reading that the door is ajar. There is no amount of force shutting the door that makes it go away. I am aware of the problems that have been going on with several models of Ford vehicles. I consider this a hazard for several reasons. The door locks will not automatically engage. For the entire vehicle because of this, potentially causing the doors to open if there were any type of impact. There is also the random locking and unlocking that occurs which makes my vehicle impossible to secure. I want to file this complaint in hopes that Ford will correct this problem from their end and not charge the consumer a minimum of 500 dollars per latch for a fix that has not been guaranteed.

Driver door will not lock. Door ad jar message on dash. When you manually lock the door they immediately unlock. Can not keep doors locked. Tried locking door before starting engine but doors unlocks as soon as car starts even before car is in motion. This happens almost all the time the car is started. I just drive with the error of n the dash board "put car in park" and an occasional audible sound.

My door ajar light started coming last week and won't go off. I an positive the all doors are closed. It is very disruptive while driving, when the vehicle slows at signal lights, in intersections or in traffic the alarm comes on. Also, I was in a completely dark parking lot with people and cars moving around and the interior lights wouldn't go off. I could not see outside because of the interior lights. The door locks will not function in this state either. Someone could have easily gotten into the vehicle with me. Help!.

The contact owns a 2013 Ford Edge. While driving at any speed, the dome light remained illuminated. Also, while idling at any stop, the vehicle beeped and the door ajar indicator illuminated. Additionally, the contact stated that the door locks did not lock. The failures were not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 40,000.

Door ajar light on dash continues to stay lit after door is closed. This creates an issue as the door locks will not engage when the vehicle is running.

It started over the past few weeks. Start the car and the door ajar light comes on and stays on regardless is I open and close the door harder. Put the car in gear and you have the warning lights to put the car in park. The door locks will not lock during one of these episodes and the dome lights stay on. I also lock my car doors at night only to find that they have unlocked themselves during the night and my heads lights have turned on as well. This has happened about 6 times. Not very happy right now!!!!.

Switch that detects when drivers door is ajar is defective and shows the door is open at all times. Therefore the dome light stays on and the door locks will not lock. The doors remains unlocked at all speeds, please do something before one of the thousands of Ford vehicles (several model years and several models) is involved in an accident where some child is thrown from the vehicle because the doors opened. Help!!!.

Driver door ajar warning light stays on when door is shut. Door locks will not lock upon movement of vehicle when light is on. When trying to lock the vehicle after turning off, interior and puddle lights stay on, draining battery. This has gotten progressively worse over the past six months.

The driver door says its ajar but actually is not, so if driving at night the dome lights are on witch is dangerous and the door locks will not lock if the vehicle system thinks it ajar. I think this should be recalled cause it is a safety issue #1 doors won't lock. #2 interior light won't go out if driving at night.
