It appears that there was a recall for 2009-2013 models but not for the 2014. My car was built and assembled in December of 2013 at the same plant installed the defective boosters. The car feels like it won't stop in time for a stop sign or stop light while going as slow as 25 mph. There is an extended warranty on this make/model, but Ford refuses to honor it and fix it. Put the car in park mode, turned off key, removed key, was exiting the vehicle and it started indicating the car was not in park. This has happened twice and both times the vehicle started moving as it was in neutral even though the key was removed and it showed in park.
I am wanting to file a complaint about the safety of my 2014 Ford Edge. My brakes are very hard to push and get stopped. Even after I am stopped and have my foot on the brake my car still wants to move. I have also experienced where the brake pedal goes to the floor and then the pressure has to build back up before they will work correctly. I have done some searching about this problem and have found that the brake booster goes bad often. I have also found that replacing just the booster does not usually permanently fix the problem. It says that the hydraulic control unit and the brake master cylinder need to be replaced also. How is this not a safety issue and a recall been issued? this is around a $2000. 00 fix from what I have read about.
When you are driving and braking, the pedal is very strong and the car hardly stops.
My brakes make a hissing sound and it's very hard to brake. The brake pedal hardly moves when I go to use the brakes.
1. Press or loosing off brakes pedal gives a knocking noise. 2. Rear view camera flickers & shut off with a warning message. 3. Rearview side mirrors do not work. 4. Lighter plug located by middle compact towards back row does not work.

While exiting a parking lot into the main thoroughfare the brakes suddenly became hard and unresponsive. Additionally we have noted a squealing and hissing sound coming from the brakes when the pedal is depressed. We took the car to a Ford dealership and determined there is an issue with the brake booster system. Research showed the Ford had issued a safety notice (13n02) and extended the warranty on the Ford Edge and the lincole mkx vehicles for the model years 2010 - 2013. I contacted Ford customer service and requested that the safety notice be extended to cover 2014 as well as it is apparent the issue is ongoing and not isolated to the model years currently covered. Ford has declined to cover the issue.
30 days ago the transmission had trouble going into park, has gotten worse, is now parked in garage with block of wood behind wheels.
With slightly over 70,000 miles on my 2014 Ford Edge the brake booster is bad and I am having to replace it.
On several occasions while driving and moving my foot from the gas pedal to the brake pedal, my shoe has gotten hung up on the open space by the gas pedal. There is a open gap between the side panel near the gas pedal on the right. Unlike other cars I looked at it is not one continuous piece of molding. When moving my foot from the gas pedal to the brake my shoe got caught in the open area. In 2 instances it caught and pulled off my sandal delaying my ability to get to the brake pedal. In other instances it caught my shoe and delayed my braking time.
