Brake pedal sank to the floor while driving. Pressure resumed temporarily. Brake fluid continued to leak aftrr being parked. This is third incident of this occurance.

3 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 05/05/2025

Brake line has ruptured causing brakes to fail while driving for the second time in 2 years. I was almost killed in both of these incidents as it happened suddenly while on the road. The first one was fixed under a recall but it has happened again with no support from Ford. This is dangerous and should be looked into.

4 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 04/02/2025

Brake hose failure causing loss of braking ability. Confirmed by independent service center that brake hose ruptured and required repaired. No warning lamps or messages. Braking required holding pedal all the way to the floor. Occurred today, 04/02/2025.

5 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 11/13/2024

As I was leaving a parking deck and heading toward the exit gate, I applied the brakes, but the pedal went all the way to the floor. I had to pump the brakes repeatedly to stop. After driving a short distance, the problem persisted, so I parked my car and left it overnight. The next morning when getting the car, I noticed a wet spot near the rear driver-side tire. Upon checking, I found that the brake fluid reservoir was empty, so I refilled it with brake fluid. The vehicle has since been repaired by an independent mechanic and was not inspected by a Ford representative or anyone else besides the mechanic. I don’t recall seeing any warning notifications during the incident but the inspection report indicates a brake code error.

6 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 03/05/2024

First my front right brake line severed in 2023. I took it to les schwab and had it repaired and I paid for it. Later, I found out it was part of a "recall". The local Ford dealer said they could not reimburse me for my repair cost due to timing issues. However, they replaced both front brake lines (even though the right side had already been recently replaced). Yesterday, my rear brake line is severely damaged and leaking brake fluid and my brakes are "soft". This is not not safe. Why were only the front brake lines recalled? what about the rear brake lines? les schwab is trying to repair my car. They can't get a new rear brake line. They contacted Ford and were told the rear brake line comes from minnesota and that there are none in stock in western us. According to Ford it has to be ordered and will take 2 weeks. I called several Ford numbers for customer service and support. They are not willing to help me out. I was told I would have to bring my car to a Ford dealer and have it diagnosed by Ford before they could order the rear brake line. It takes 2 weeks to get an appointment. Then once Ford diagnoses my car, they will order the part which would take another 2 weeks. I can't drive my car for one month with bad brakes. ! I need my vehicle to go to work. If Ford knows the front brake lines are inferior and sub par and thus subject to a recall, how can they ignore the back brake lines? how can the recall only be limited to front brakes? furthermore, I should not have 2 separate brake lines fail on me on the same car. This is a safety issue. Why is it so difficult to get a replacement rear brake line? something needs to be done. This is unacceptable.

7 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 12/22/2023

Brake line that was recalled and repaired ruptured and is causing a brake fluid leak and increased pedal travel, increased braking distance, and overall unsafe driving conditions.

8 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 11/19/2023

The brake fluid is leaking rapidly. The brakes will work fine and them 30 minutes late, upon restarting the vehicle, the brakes are extremely spongey and it takes a very, very long time to brake at all. Because it occurs suddenly and without warning and no warning lights display on the dash to anticipate the issue, pedestrians are most at risk, in ashton to putting myself and other drivers and property owners at risk of being struck.

9 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 06/27/2023

When approaching a stop light the breaks felt less resistant and would not engage properly. Luckily we had just left home so we turned around and took a different vehicle. When we came back home there was a puddle of break fluid under the rear right tire and the break fluid reservoir was empty. Since there was already a recall in the front break hoses we are concerned there is a fault with the rear break hoses.

18 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 07/28/2022

I had a sudden loss of brakes. As I applied the brakes for an up coming stop sign the brakes initially engaged and briefly slowed the car as the brake petal continued to the floor. Only after pumping the pedal was I able to completely stop. No warning light was ever displayed. Service was accomplished and it was determined that a right rear brake line had suddenly failed. I believe this to be a serious threat to safety. This vehicle now has 63,166 miles on it and has been garage kept and never exposed to salt or other corrosive material for any length of time. Thank you.

19 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 07/22/2022

While driving my 2015 Ford Edge my brakes went completely out almost causing me to slam into the vehicle ahead of me. My brake fluid was completely gone. I had previously called about the recall as stated in the letter months ago and was told the parts were not available and I would be contacted as soon as they are. I was never told not to drive my car. This is my only means of transportation and now they are saying parts are in but there is a possible 2 to 3mnth wait period with no loaners available. This is unacceptable and Ford cus service hasn't been any help.

20 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 09/14/2021

Originally got recall notice in may 2021. Called my Ford dealership and they said they could not repair because they did not currently have the parts. Called again a few months later and made an appointment - day before appointment the dealership called to cancel because they still did not have parts. On September 14th my brake lights went on and I could not brake properly, they were very spongy. I brought my car to my mechanic and he said the brake fluid was leaking and the hose had to be replaced, and that the car was undrivable. Called my dealership and the manager agreed to reimburse my mechanic's repairs, along with the rental car I needed. After the car was fixed the manager went back on his word and denied promising reimbursement, and now I am out $266. 75 for repairs and $647. 93 for the car rental.

25 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 06/07/2021

This is the second time in a year that the brakes in our vehicle have stopped working. The pedal goes all the way to the ground and does not completely stop the car. We had the issue dealt with last year at the dealership where we had our vehicle towed to. It was only then that we were notified that there was a recall on the hose that may affect the brakes and other functions of the vehicle. It was replaced. This has now happened a second time while my husband and 2. 5 year old were driving home. If he was not able to have some control over the vehicle he and my child could have been killed or someone else on the road. I called the dealership to let them know that the car would be towed again and told the issue. They confirmed we dealt with this same issue just one year ago and I asked why is this happening and this is so unacceptable as my family's safety is at risk. I asked if there are any recalls or issues with the make and model that we should be aware of. After looking up the vehicle she then informed us there was indeed a recall for the flex hose which could cause leaks and affect the brakes. The vehicle is currently at the dealership being inspected. Due to where the leak is coming from it seems to be the left side of the vehicle now which tells me the dealership only replaced one of the hoses and not both causing this to happen again. This is negligence and I am beyond frustrated at the thought of what could have happened and I don't think waiting until someone is killed is the right time to fix this issue. There were no warning lamps, messages or symptoms prior to the failure, it just happened while driving and trying to stop.
