1 Electrical Jack problem of the 2012 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 04/05/2019

Door ajar light is on telling driver to shife to park door locks will not stay loaded when driving, so anyone can open car door while traveling down the road , this is not safe for someone may open door and fall out or if your at traffic light someone out side of car can open door, this is unsafe , you stand a chance of being car jackked or some other bad things can happen. I'd say car is unsafe and the problem needs to be recalled. I had Ford dealer check it out and said it needs a driver door latch assy. Replaced this problem had occurred on and off over the pass year or so but would seem to fix it selfwith in a few miles but now it stays on.

2 Electrical Jack problem of the 2013 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 02/01/2018

The driver's side door will close, but thinks it is not closed - so the interior and exterior lights stay on and doors will not lock. Driving around in memphis, TN with your doors unlocked is a huge safety hazard - am in grave danger of being carjacked at a stop light. It will not close to lock it at work or in my driveway - and runs down the battery. Opening and closing it sometimes 50 times (usually without success) is annoying and painful. I know my neighbors hate me making so much noise trying to close my door (that seems to really be closed, but some sensor doesn't think so). There are tons of comments across the internet with this problem. Why has it not been recalled? and if it really isn't closing, then we have a whole new issue!.

3 Electrical Jack problem of the 2013 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 11/08/2017

The door latches used on the 2013 Edge (and other models) contains the sensor that detects the door being closed. In my instance, the issue is with the driver's side door. When the switch does not detect that the door is closed, the dome lights will not turn off until the vehicle achieves a certain speed and the doors cannot be locked while the car is started. At night, the dome lights staying on hinders vision and poses possible injury and damage to any pedestrians or objects that may be in the way of the car with this issue. I have almost hit a tree leaving my driveway since I could not even see the driveway. I fear hitting pedestrians in my neighborhood while on the way to work, since I leave before sunrise. As for the doors not locking while the car is started, this could pose a safety issue to the occupants of the vehicle allowing for access to be easily obtained to the interior in the instance of carjacking, etc.

4 Electrical Jack problem of the 2013 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 04/04/2016

When I close the drivers door the door ajar light stays on and the door is completely shut. With the interior lights on it is almost impossible to see at night due to the lights shining in my eyes. Also, the doors will not stay locked with the door ajar light on. With the doors not locking I could be carjacked or my granddaughter could be pulled out of the car while sitting at a stop light or intersection. When exiting the vehicle and the door is not recognized to be shut, the interior and outside mirror lights stay on. I've had the vehicle since March and have less that 45000 miles on it. . The problem started shortly after I purchased the vehicle with less that 40000 miles. Ford should be responsible for fixing the problem.

5 Electrical Jack problem of the 2011 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 01/04/2015

After fueling the vehicle up, was heading home for the evening and traffic light turned green, went to go and the cars behind me became inpatient. The Ford Edge was rolling through the traffic light at less than @ 5 mph. After clearing the traffic light intersection I was able to get the 2011 Ford Edge into a the nearest neighborhood. This was at night time with my three(3) year old grandson with me. Tow truck was dispatched and taken to the nearest dealership which happen to be the one the Ford Edge was purchased from on August 8, 2015. Vehicle was purchased for my daughter so that she could have a reliable mode of transportation for her and my grandson. Work order # 98983 from "dick smith Ford" dated January 5, 2015 at a cost of $95. 00, and this is with me having an extended warranty. I notified Ford motor corporation as to the "throttle body" being defective. I was informed via e-mail that (no recalls) have been issued for this problem on the 2011 Ford Edge. On January 6, 2015 when my daughter was on her way to work at fort jackson during the 7:00 am traffic again dead pedal with throttle body. I notified Ford motor corporation again, via e-mail and telephone. I made it clear that I value the life of my daughter and grandson and if they should have a dead pedal while on the highway at greater speeds, what would happen if the vehicle behind them was not paying attention, then what. That's when corporation will find that it cost effective to pay out for a defect item on a vehicle instead of fixing as needed since it is a safety issue. Case number with Ford motor corporation is # { cas-5777572-n4n9h6}. Vehicle is currently in my driveway with a new "throttle body" that I had ordered from a dealership in carolina, puerto-rico. Part number is as follows (at4z-9e926b) at my expense. At a cost of $125. 00 . Gds. . .

6 Electrical Jack problem of the 2012 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 07/20/2012

My 14 month old, 2012 Ford Edge, has had numerous issues, some very serious! from the beginning, I have had issues with the sync system, the navigation system, and controlling the temperature. They have had to "update" my sync system more than once. I frequently get a "no key detected" message when driving. (push start system) the first time that happened I pulled off the road thinking it would stop running, and did $1400. 00 in damage to the car. (coverage was denied by the wheel and tire protection plan. ) later was told the car would not have stopped even if it didn't recognize that the key fob was in it. (a car-jackers dream!) I had a hole in my brake booster causing me to not have the benefit of power brakes. Found this out when I stepped on my breaks and wasn't stopping. I had the really push on them to prevent hitting a car. The battery died in 14 months. The latest is that the vacuum seal in the capless fuel system had a bad o-ring causing fuel to leak and vapors to escape. I truly believe that this car is poorly made. I'm just waiting for the next issue to surface.
