Car sounded rough when I started it after work with vibration noise that got louder as I drove and louder still when it was idling at lights. Drove straight to the dealership - it's a cracked flex plate. Upon research this seems to be a common problem with Ford Edge. Waiting to see what is covered under extended warranty. 66000 miles.

I have a cracked glass in my panoramic roof on my 2018 Ford Edge sport. Local Ford dealer was no help in getting fixed and my extended warranty will not fix glass. Insurance company is involved but there are no shops wanting to fix glass cracking. This is a known defect along with the exploding glass sunroofs on certain years of Edges. Something needs to be done. My car was sitting with nothing that could have hit it. Happened with temperatures changing.

My sunroof randomly cracked while I was going down the highway. Nothing hit it so I was curious if this was a common problem. . I looked around online and found that it is in fact a common issue with some people's sunroofs even exploding!!! I called Ford and was told the exact same thing that I found everyone else saying online. . That Ford won't do anything to fix the problem and that some people have had this issue happen more than once. . . I am now terrified to drive my new (to me) vehicle that I just bought 2 months ago. . My glass insurance is giving me issues covering this because it's not a windshield and I don't have $2200 laying around to fix it at the moment. . How long until it starts leaking and causing other issues. . ???.
Discovered non-impact wavy cracks on the back panel of my panoramic sunroof as it was parked in a parking lot at walgreens. Was not parked under any trees or other structures. Car stays in garage and roof is rarely used. Upon an internet search, this appears to be common with Ford Edges and there is a class action lawsuit. This is a manufacturer defect.

I have a 2016 Ford Edge, which has a panoramic sunroof and moon roof. My sunroof motor only works half the time. It will open with no issues, but then in order to close it, it will close, and then open again. I have to close it several times before it actually stays closed. The other issue I am having is with the moon roof. It has randomly cracked. I keep my vehicle parked in the garage, and work from home. There is no chip in the glass, and the glass doesn't look like a regular spider from a chip. It's wavy cracks.
Noticed crack in panoramic sunroof when parked in home garage; no point of impact detected.
Sun roof glass has cracked and has been advancing as time progresses, it cannot be felt from under or top of the glass.
The panoramic sunroof has spider web cracks. There was no impact to the window or car and no extreme temperature change. It was in the garage when we noticed it.
The back section of the panoramic sunroof glass has developed a crack. No obvious external strike. The vehicle is parked inside in a tempered environment. When searching for glass replacement, I found a number of similar complaints.
I purchased a brand new 2019 Ford Edge with 10 miles on 11/23/2019 from stone mountain Ford (smf) in stone mountain georgia. Four days later, I went into my garage to get in my car. I noticed the top looked wet. . . Which I thought was strange since it had been parked inside a locked garage all night. I stood on my tiptoes and noticed the roof was strangely cracked with pieces raised up towards the ceiling of the garage. The sunroof had exploded.

My panoramic moonroof is cracked. There's no visible sign of damage and it appears that this is a systemic problem with the Ford Edge moonroofs.
On the evening of November 9, 2019, I was driving home from my dad's house. This is a 2 hour drive. I was heading west, and the sun was bothering me, so I moved the passenger sun visor to block the sun. When doing so, the visor accidentally hit the button which then opened the roof to reveal the sunroof (glass). I was fine with this since it was a nice day. After around 20-30 minutes I looked up and saw a couple of wavy lines on the sunroof glass, running vertically from hood-end to back. I thought possibly it was tar from the road which maybe had flown up on my roof. After a while, I became more curious about the wavy lines, so looked more closely. There was in fact 3 wavy lines (cracks) running vertically down the larger section of the sunroof glass, which then meet up with a horizontal wavy crack. I was shocked and dismayed. I rarely open the sunroof, so had no idea the cracks were there, how or when they occurred. My husband and I had hand washed the car approximately 1 month ago, and did not see these wavy cracks at all. After returning home, I researched the Ford Edge sunroof on the internet. It was there that I found that many many other Ford Edge owners have experienced these same odd wavy crack(s) in their sunroofs. Obviously this is no coincidence. And the fact that these cracks are wavy, makes sense that they were caused by stress, and more than likely are being caused by a manufacturer's design flaw. I ask, along with many other Ford Edge owners, for you to please research this problem. By no fault of my own did this occur. And since so many other owners are experiencing the same problem, we all ask your assistance to have Ford motor CO. Reimburse us for the repair.
The rear glass panel in the panoramic sunroof has spider cracks throughout. The car is normally parked in a covered area. I had the sunroof open two weeks ago and there were no cracks at that time. The cracks happened within the last two weeks. The car was stationary when the problem was identified. This was not caused by any impact. I believe it is an inherent manufacturer defect. I contacted the dealer who said the repair will cause at least $1300 and that it is not covered under warranty. The car is a 2017 Ford Edge with 40k miles and has a 100k mile Ford premium care warranty.
Just noticed a large crack develop in the panoramic sunroof - front panel. Unfortunately I do not remember the exact date. The crack started small and spread into different cracks covering a good portion of the sunroof. No evidence of rock or impact. Cracks appear to be stress related though I am not an expert. Called Ford dealer and was informed this is not covered as vehicle is out of warranty. My vehicle is a 2016 Ford Edge sport with 25k miles. Given a verbal estimate that the part would cost $1k and labor just shy of $2k for a total of $3k. I will again reinforce that the car has not been in any accident or impact and the crack appeared one morning and have grown. I am looking to sell the car and this is impacting the final price I am trying to negotiate.
Glass panoramic moon roof has spider cracks throughout. This was not caused by any impact. This is an inherent manufacturer defect.
While driving at approximately 25 mph near my home, I heard a loud noise on the roof of the vehicle. I pulled over to see if something struck the roof. Nothing on the ground at all. When I got home, I got on a ladder to inspect the roof. The rear glass panel was cracked all over. My insurer stated it was struck by a foreign object. I went online to carguru and found hundreds of complaints about the roof glass (panoramic roof). They all cracked without being struck by any foreign object. There is also a class action lawsuit against Ford for not issuing a recall. The panels are made of laminated glass, which, according to Ford, makes the glass much more susceptible to break. Ford now only makes tempered glass roof panels, which are stronger. This, to me, is an admission of knowledge of the problem without issuing a recall, and could have caused serious injury. My auto insurance has the claim but is giving me a hard time due to the defective material.
Cracked sun roof. Vehicle was stationary.
Vehicle moon roof displaying stress fractures. Not covered under warranty, has the probability to explode while driving. As a quick internet search will show you this is a known safety issue from the manufacturer who refuses to cover the cost or recall. I believe this to be a safety issue. I'm worried it will break while driving, and I have two small kids in car seats directly below where the cracks are. I do not have the money to replace, and this vehicle is less than 5 years old. There is no reason this should be occurring.
Vehicle has been sitting in my garage for almost a month (as I was away traveling for work) and my wife noticed wavy cracks all across the rear glass panel of the panoramic sunroof (fixed glass panel that does not move) when we were out driving this past weekend. There is no indication of how this cracked, car was stationary as I am the only one who drives it. There has been no impact to the top, and after doing research this seems to be an all-to-common occurrence in this vehicle model and some other Ford vehicles as well. I am afraid if this cracks further it may cause a safety risk inside the cabin with broken glass. There is no recall to-date on this glass issue, but I am aware of a class action lawsuit filed against Ford because of this issue.
The stationary part of my vista glass sunroof cracked. There is no sign of impact and it looks like a stress crack. Ford is not willing to replace it because I am 1 month outside the 3 yr warranty window. I looked online and I see that there are many others with this same cracking issue.
Vehicle horn is barely audible. If on roadway or highway vehicles next to you cannot hear the horn. Vehicle had bracket for two horns but only one is present. Previous 2016 Ford Edge had two horns. Safety isue not having a clearly audible horn. Seems to be a problem with all 2019 / 2019 Edge and explorer models.
Hello I have a 2015 Ford Edge titanium with the panorama sunroof and it cracked for no apparent reason! the vehicle only had 49000 miles when I purchased it and it cracked with me only have put a few thousand miles on it! I never open the sunroof and I had took it to the Ford dealership I bought it from and the extended warranty will not cover it! I had taken it to a glass company to see if they could figure out why it cracked and they seem no impact marks anywhere. They said that the glass had failed from either heat or a imperfection in the glass. So I got online and was researching if anyone else has had the problem and there are a lot of people that have had the same issue! some people reported it having happened to them multiple times. Thank you for reading this I believe something needs to be done to get this fixed right!.
Wavy pattered cracks on the back panel of panoramic sunroof glass with no indication that something fell on it to cause the cracks. I was not in the car when it happened and do not leave my sunroof shade open all the time, so I cannot be sure exactly when the cracks happened. I leave the shade closed during the hot summer months.
The panoramic roof made a loud noise and then cracked in a curvy webbed pattern. Thank goodness I wasn't in traffic or I may have caused an accident as it was loud and startling. I took it to Ford dealership and my repair was denied because I am out of warranty. I have 46000 miles on my 2015 Ford Edge. I will have to pay for repairs myself. I contacted Ford consumer affairs and was told to keep my receipt in case their was a recall. I voiced my concern over safety and disappointment that Ford was not taking care of the issue. They said until their is a recall they won't. Disappointing and scary.
The moon roof glass is cracking. No point of impact. The car was not hit by any foreign object. When car is in motion, the spider webbing cracks get worse.
Driver side strut keeps going out already had it replaced a month ago and driver side window cracked for no reason from down in the door not even where anyone could hit it.

Panoramic sun/moon roof cracked for unknown reason. Car is garage kept, and crack appeared overnight.
I was driving slowly down a street at about 20-30 mph and tried to close my sunroof and the plastic that holds it into the moving track broke off leaving it stuck in the open position. I took it to Ford thinking that since there have been multiple issues with their Edge cars roofs, they would be able to repair it. Instead they wanted to charge me $8,000 to repair the whole roof.

Appears to be two separate wavy cracks across rear roof panel. No indication of any strikes. Same experience as many others have documented regarding cracks for no apparent reason. Did experience failure when closing roof panel also.
Found moon roof to be cracked.
Sunroof glass cracked for no apparent reason. One day it was fine, next day it was cracked. I took to Ford dealer and they told me $1,000 to repair and that they use 3rd party to repair. My car is still under warranty, but they said it is not covered. I did research and many others having the exact same issue.
Today, I noticed wavy cracks throughout my rear sunroof (as I walked out to my stationary parked car). They are all over the place. I have never had any trauma to the roof. I googled these cracks and there are many complaints from Ford owners about the same issues. Some owners have replaced their sunroofs 3 and 4 times over. It is obvious the glass is defective. There are multiple mentions of a class action lawsuit. The cracks are a safety concern considering they may crack further and fall into the back seat on passengers. I am taking it in to the Ford dealership where I purchased it tomorrow.

I opened the sunroof cover and it revealed a large crack in the glass. I've already had the sunroof replaced once under warranty from Ford for a similar crack.
