During operation of my 2015 Ford Edge titanium, the vehicle experienced intermittent loss of acceleration and multiple electronic warning messages. While driving, pressing the accelerator pedal would sometimes result in little or no vehicle acceleration. The rpms fluctuated abnormally and the vehicle appeared to enter a reduced-power condition. Warning messages included “hill start assist unavailable” and traction/anti-skid related warnings. Cruise control also became inoperable. The issue created a safety risk because the vehicle would not reliably accelerate during normal driving conditions, including while attempting to maintain speed in traffic. This created concern about merging, crossing intersections, or safely responding to traffic conditions. Additional symptoms included rear lights remaining illuminated unexpectedly and electronic brake-related behavior that appeared abnormal. An independent auto parts diagnostic scan identified low-voltage history codes and a brake switch/brake signal issue. The vehicle battery tested good at the time of inspection. The transmission reportedly showed no faults during the initial scan. The brake switch issue was temporarily adjusted to allow the vehicle to be driven to a repair facility, but the underlying issue has not yet been permanently repaired. The problem has been reproduced during multiple driving events and was observed by an independent service provider. The dealership later advised that no recall currently applies to the vehicle VIN for this condition. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. Prior to the failure, warning lamps and messages appeared intermittently, including traction control, anti-skid, and “hill start assist unavailable” notifications. These symptoms began before the major acceleration issue occurred and became more frequent over time.

Re:safety complaint - defective fcim causing hazard flashers to activate randomly may 22, 2026 to whom it may concern, I am writing to formally complain about a serious electrical defect affecting my 2012 Ford Edge involving the front controls interface module (fcim). The vehicle’s hazard flashers activate randomly and repeatedly without warning, even when the vehicle is completely off and parked or operating normally. This issue appears to originate from a failed or malfunctioning fcim module, despite the vehicle not being abused, modified, or involved in any event that would reasonably cause this failure. This defect creates multiple safety concerns, including: - unexpected flashing while driving - battery drain while parked - driver distraction - potential confusion for surrounding traffic - loss of confidence in the vehicle’s electrical system after researching this issue, I discovered that many other Ford Edge owners have reported nearly identical fcim-related failures, suggesting this may be a widespread defect rather than normal wear and tear. I am extremely disappointed that owners are being forced to pay significant repair costs for what appears to be a recurring design or manufacturing problem. Electronic control modules should not fail under ordinary use conditions in a manner that compromises vehicle safety functions. I respectfully request that Ford: - investigate this recurring fcim failure issue, - offer goodwill repair assistance or reimbursement, - consider issuing a technical service campaign or recall if appropriate, - and acknowledge the safety risks associated with malfunctioning hazard systems. I have been a Ford owner in good faith and hope the company will stand behind its product and assist customers financially experiencing this defect. Please contact me regarding the next steps toward resolving this issue. Thank you. Sincerely, [xxx] [xxx] [xxx] VIN [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

On Wednesday may 13th the car started acting a little jerky whence putting car in reverse like normal. There was a thunk sound. But it still shifted. We then drove the car about 10 miles. Then later in the day attempted to drive home. It’s was over-roving while driving. Acting erratic. We pulled into a tire place to see if something was stuck underneath. The check engine light was on and there was an error message saying broken parking brake? they said to have it towed to a transmission specilist. To our horror. They are saying it needs a new transmission! a 4 yr old car? this is not normal. It worked fine until now. It would not move out of second or third gear. It nearly crashed.

Bought a used 2019 Ford Edge, and transmission had issues within 2weeks of minimal operation!! transmission slippage, does not go into gear or has a long pause going into gear (even right from park). Very hard shifts in lower gears upon upshift and downshift. Also, gets worse the longer you drive it. It jerks, bucks, lurches, snaps your neck forward or backward, or does not go at all!! after this happens for a few minutes, it wouldn't even go into reverse!! that's just trying to drive it. As you might imagine, it's quite difficult to concentrate on road signs, hazards, pedestrians, and other cars whilst you're trying to drive this thing!! how could Ford possibly even think this is a safe vehicle!!.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? the flexible brake hose on my 2015 Ford Edge failed/broke shortly after I purchased the vehicle. The vehicle also began experiencing engine performance issues, including a rough idle and rough driving condition after the check engine light came on. The vehicle and failed brake hose should be available for inspection upon request. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? the broken flexible brake hose created a serious safety risk because it could affect the vehicle’s braking ability and increase the risk of losing control or being unable to stop safely. The rough engine performance also caused concerns about the reliability and safe operation of the vehicle while driving. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? the issue has been observed and experienced consistently while driving the vehicle. The brake hose damage and rough engine performance were noticeable after the vehicle was purchased. (if a mechanic has looked at it, you can add: “an independent mechanic/dealership confirmed the brake hose was damaged. ”) has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? I have taken it to the dealership and they said nothing about it but I got it diagnosed at autozone and the code came up right away. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? approximately 2–3 weeks after purchasing the vehicle, the check engine light came on and the vehicle began running roughly. Around the same time, issues related to the broken flexible brake hose were discovered. Symptoms included rough driving performance and concerns with the braking system.
This is for recall 25s89/ NHTSA 25v572. Took my car to the dealer and they confirmed and found c1001:01. They refused service and blamed a faulty wire harness. They stated fixed points which indicates tampering or previous repair which I am the original owner and have never had electrical work done on the vehicle. They are trying to charge me $1700 for a wire harness and refusing to do the safety recall.

The wireless pad charger overheats your phone and is a know problem and I dont understand why there isn't a fix yet there are thousands of complaints online about this issue.
I reported this the other day. The screen will go black and stay that way for several minutes. It will then come back on then out again. It's getting a lot worse. I'm an older lady that's a lower leg amputee trying to work and I need this screen for directions as I'm by myself in areas I don't really know at night. It's a serious safety issue. Dealer refuses to fix anything since we bought this, says it's the battery, but battery was checked by 4 different places and is in excellent shape. This is beyond a dangerous issue and it needs fixed immediately.
When driving the screen will black out and be off for several seconds. It does not reform to what was on there before this happened. This has hairbrush at least 60 times since owning this vehicle. Took it back to dealer and they said needs new battery. Took too another dealer they said battery is just fine. This is a serious issue that Ford refuses to fix correctly.
I am writing to express my concern with how Ford is handling safety recall 25s89. I have had numerous incidents where the camera has failed when backing up and have photos to document these instances. I brought my 2017 Edge to the dealership today and was told that it did not need replacement. So, it's "safe" to have the camera display a blank screen some of the time? I would think that the rationale behind a backup camera is that it is safe 100% of the time or it should be replaced. If a part fails only some of the time, is it considered a safe part per the NHTSA? I would really appreciate hearing back from someone at NHTSA on this issue and perhaps there needs to be review with Ford on how this is being handled.

Transmission fluid leak/fire risk (recall 20s49): certain 2020 Edge models have missing or loose bolts on the start/stop accumulator endcap, which can cause a leak and increase the risk of fire. Rearview camera failure (recall 20v572000): a common issue where the rear camera may display a blank or distorted image, failing to comply with safety standards. Driveshaft seizure (recall 21s43): a potential lack of lubrication in the rear drive unit can cause it to seize, leading to loss of drive and vehicle control. Inoperable hvac blower motor: a potential defect causing the blower motor to fail, which can hinder windshield defrosting. Power train alert not going into park break light issue.

Travelling on the expressway I received a warning on my dash that my steering had failed along with other warnings. I lost the power steering and it was very hard to maneuver. I took it to a dealer that said it was electrical (software) and they had to reset it. Why???? my concern is it could have caused an accident if my wife was driving because she would not of been able to steer it. Or if I was in the middle of a turn or lane change. This is very concerning as I'm worried about a re occurrence.

I started my Edge as I always do and the display panel kept changing from audio, to settings and on and on. It went thru all the choices and it kept going for about 20 mins until I could safely pull over to find the problem. The radio continues to play thru . The clicking of it changing choices. When I pulled over I put the car in park and shut my Edge off, waited a few mins and started it again. It continues to cycle thru the choices. I shut the car off again, opened my door , closed my door, then restarted my Edge. This stopped it from cycling thru the options again. I am also wondering about the other two recalls for my Edge, the rear brake line and the rear camera. It has been over 6 months since I was notified and would like these fixed or give me a new car. Brakes are a very important thing and I do not think you really know what will happen if I’m going 60 mph down the highway and I have to stop quick. Please reply to this and let me know about the cycling thru choices and if you have a fix yet for the other recalls.
The stop start actuator has been on for 3 days I have lost power in reverse and drive but the gears are still engaging.
Back up camera goes in and out, it's flips upside down and do wired things , it also say call dealership, the picture sometimes be in reverse , and brake light stays on have to pump brake in order for it to go off.

Safety defects and mechanical failures my 2020 Ford Edge (VIN: [xxx] ) is plagued by systemic safety defects that render it unroadworthy under pennsylvania law (37 PA. Code § 301. 2). [1, 2] the 8f35 transmission suffers from a documented "shudder" and loss of motive power (TSB 21-2389), creating a high risk of collisions in traffic. [3, 4, 5] additionally, the vehicle is subject to critical federal recalls: recall 21s02 (21v-011) regarding sudden rear axle seizure [6, 7, 8] and recall 20s49 (20v-550) regarding a lethal fire hazard from leaking transmission fluid. [9, 10, 11] the engine also exhibits a design flaw known as "coolant intrusion" (TSB 19-2346), which leads to catastrophic engine failure and hydro-lock. [12, 13, 14] ?deceptive trade practices and lender liability carmax sold this vehicle as "quality certified" without fulfilling the disclosure requirements mandated by the 2022 multistate attorney general settlement. [15, 16] specifically, carmax failed to provide the required standalone, signed disclosure form for open safety recalls prior to the sale. [17, 18, 15] because this transaction was financed through santander consumer USA, the lender is derivatively liable for carmax’s deceptive acts under the ftc holder rule (16 c. F. R. § 433). [19, 2] this federal rule allows me to assert all legal claims and defenses against santander that I have against carmax, including breach of the implied warranty of merchantability, which overrides any "as-is" disclaimer when a vehicle is sold in a non-roadworthy condition information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
My Ford Edge will lock us out while it is running with the key fob in the car, in the center console. It will lock you out if you are standing outside the car after you unlock the doors, with the keys in your hand. It will continue to lock itself back after you unlock it, before you even get a door open. It has done this numerous times. I have called and complained about it but received no help. I even made a complaint through Ford and the dealership where we are buying the Edge from. They were no help at all, not even with an extra key fob. We have an autistic child, and what is going to happen when I step out of the car to get him out and my doors lock with him in the car? we need answers and help with this problem! we can't afford to take our Edge and pay a lot of money for an issue that should not be happening at all. I have a case # that was given to me where I called gm cxh-06543205-h8k1j9.

On Dec 11, 2025, the driver’s heated seat in my 2013 Ford Edge overheated within minutes of activation, causing first- and second-degree burns to the occupant. The vehicle was inspected on March 18, 2026 and escalated for management review, but the manufacturer failed to provide the promised follow-up by March 26, 2026, and the defect remains unresolved, posing an ongoing risk of injury. No problems prior to ever using the heated seats.
Climate control system turns off automatically without driver input. This causes loss of heating or cooling while driving and requires repeated manual reactivation. Issue occurs randomly while driving and has happened multiple times. Restarting the vehicle does not consistently resolve the problem.
The vehicle’s touchscreen activates functions on its own without being touched (“ghost touch”). While driving, the screen intermittently selects menus, changes settings, and activates features without driver input. This causes distraction and requires the driver to look away from the road to correct unintended changes. The issue occurs unpredictably and repeatedly, while in motion and standing still, indicating a malfunction of the touchscreen or related electronic system and presents a safety concern due to driver distraction.

Was told by mechanic that my engine has a coolant leak and has caused engine failure. The car has been jerking whenever I accelerate. The remote start does not function from my key fob and I have been unable to pair the Ford pass app with that. The usb ports for android auto also don't seem to work. If I drive over a small bump on the road, it disconnects my phone from android auto. I then have to unplug the cable then replug back into my phone or the usb port to hopefully get it to work again.
The contact owns a 2018 Ford Edge. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the infotainment system screen displayed both the forward and rearview images simultaneously. In addition, the contact stated that the buttons on the infotainment system were lagging and were sometimes inoperable while pressed. The vehicle was taken to an unknown dealer, where the contact was informed that the failure was related to an unrepaired recall. The dealer declined to inspect the vehicle at the time. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact later received a call from the dealer to schedule the recall repair for June 2026, when the parts were scheduled to be available. The contact stated that the vehicle was unsafe to drive with the forward and rearview images displayed on the infotainment system screen simultaneously, and the contact could not wait until June 2026. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 25v572000 (back over prevention); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The contact was informed that the failure was not related to the unrepaired recall. The failure mileage was approximately 74,000.
The push button start stopped functioning and the car could not be started, leaving me stranded late at night. This problem was inspected by tamiami Ford, naples, florida in April, 2025 and the dealer could not determine the cause or fix it. Meanwhile, the intermittent problem is now frequent and the car is totally unreliable.
My vehicle previously had recall work, including power steering, but now I’m experiencing: * ‘steering assist required’ warning, and the electric power steering is intermittently failing * traction control and hill assist turned off * headlights (and other lights) staying on even when the car is off * the vehicle pulls sharply to the left when braking * despite multiple alignments and suspension/tie rod replacements, my new tires are wearing out rapidly.
Back up camera goes black and sometimes it shows as a white blank screen and says contact dealer.
The vehicle was sluggish to reverse as I left my office but after I left it was operating normally to gas station about 3 miles away. I stopped at gas station to fuel up. After, I started car and it would not go back in reverse. When I shifted from park back to reverse, it moved maybe 5". Was sputtering and clanking. I drove forward maybe 2', while sputtering, jerking, and clanking. I managed to make it home (<3 miles) and on shifting it wanted to stall, and on braking it was sputtering, jerking, and clanking with downshifting. At home, when I put it in reverse, I got an error message "gear select will engage at low speeds", and as I tried to reverse, the car went forward almost causing me to crash into my house. After several attempts to back up and begin to go out of my drive, it was sputtering and jerking too much so I decided to try to reverse back to the carport, and it would not move. It sits where it stopped.

Warning lights came on, dashboard goes dark, engine felt to shut off and then restart especially when driving on interstate highways. Possible cause of serious injury or death. Dealer has not found problem, been to dealership 4 times in 5 months, over 70 days. Car has been inspected and nothing has been found to cause the problem. No advance warnings at time of all occurrences. First occurrence was in October 2025. My opion is an electrical issue.
Computer screen does not work all the time, and the backup camera does not work, and when it does, it will stay on while moving forward. The computer screen freezes up and will not allow me to adjust the temperature or the radio and other options that are normally on the screen.
The vehicle hesitates when engaging accelerator;shifting roughly, stuttering ,mostly under 50 mph.
