The vehicle was sluggish to reverse as I left my office but after I left it was operating normally to gas station about 3 miles away. I stopped at gas station to fuel up. After, I started car and it would not go back in reverse. When I shifted from park back to reverse, it moved maybe 5". Was sputtering and clanking. I drove forward maybe 2', while sputtering, jerking, and clanking. I managed to make it home (<3 miles) and on shifting it wanted to stall, and on braking it was sputtering, jerking, and clanking with downshifting. At home, when I put it in reverse, I got an error message "gear select will engage at low speeds", and as I tried to reverse, the car went forward almost causing me to crash into my house. After several attempts to back up and begin to go out of my drive, it was sputtering and jerking too much so I decided to try to reverse back to the carport, and it would not move. It sits where it stopped.

The first incident occurred in GA on vacation in June. While my spouse was driving, he said the brakes seemed squishy and were not right. When he braked to stop the car to get gas, his foot went almost to the floor. After getting gas, I drove and they did not seem right. The second incident happened the beginning of August and I was coming down a relatively steep hill. I went to brake and my foot went all the way to the floor and did not completely stop. I took the car to my mechanic and he wasn't sure of the problem, and to another mechanic. The 2nd thought it was the brake booster. I then took it to the Ford dealership where I bought it last August and had them look at it. They said it is the abs module and that I am #829 on the list of 1300 people that need that part, that Ford has no idea when it will be available. The third incident was last sat, [xxx] and I had no brakes at all, so I had to take my husband's car to work. In all the incidents, I was at risk, as well as my family and the people driving in front & back of me. I have also had issues of the ac coming in for no reason, and after I turn it down, it turns itself back on at full blast. This car is not safe. Rear backup camera has inverted picture and sometimes blank picture. I see recalls for newer Edge models with same problem but not the 2011. Second issue: sometimes the door ajar light is displayed on dash when doors are closed. Usually indicates driver door. Close several times and then it will finally work again. Has caused battery to run down in past if not caught before leaving vehicle. This is random as to when it happens, but I see online that it’s a common problem.

10/2022 2yrs owning and around 50,000 miles the all wheel drive went out due to a sensor thats not protected from the elements and of course not covered under the warranty and $900. 00 dollars later they install a new one that wasn't updated in order to prevent this from happening again. 9/2/2025 3yrs later and 88,000 miles now the torque converter is going out which I was told by the Ford technician that they have been seeing this alot. Of course my warranty is gone even the extended one that I purchased when I purchased this car new. So to fix this manufacturer's issue will now cost me $4,000 dollars to fix. But I was told the torque converter has been updated so I shouldn't have this issue again. So they know this is a problem which I assume is the reason for the updated converter so why isn't this a recall.
It is my rear view camera. I would put the vehicle in reverse and it will sometimes start to work and than it will shut off and a message comes across saying I need to contact dealership. It will sometimes come up and be upside down or I will put the vehicle in reverse and the back up camera just flashes while in use. I have not taken the vehicle to the shop. I have called and they said it sounds electrical. But the recall you just released on 2015 Ford Edges for the back up camera is the same thing that is going on with my vehicle and I have a 2013.

1am filing this complaint regarding my 2016 Ford Edge (VIN: [xxx] ), which has experienced a severe and dangerous failure. Ford has acknowledged a defect in the flexplate at the transmission bellhousing area under customer satisfaction program (csp) 22n12. This defect causes rattling noises and eventually results in flexplate cracks that can lead to sudden loss of power while driving. My vehicle is currently undrivable due to this defect. I have documentation from February 2025 (a&m auto repair, invoice #[xxx]) showing that a technician identified noise from the rear of the engine/front of the transmission area and suspected flexplate cracks at that time. Despite this, my vehicle never received the csp repair. Ford is refusing to cover the repair because my vehicle has exceeded the 120,000-mile cutoff for csp coverage. However, this is not acceptable because: •the defect was documented earlier and existed within the coverage period. •more importantly, this is a serious safety defect that can cause sudden power loss while driving, creating a high risk of accidents. •Ford has incorrectly limited the remedy under a csp with a mileage cutoff, instead of issuing a proper safety recall without mileage limits. Requested action: I am requesting NHTSA to investigate and require Ford 1. Treat the flexplate defect as a recall, not a csp. 2. Provide full repair coverage for affected vehicles regardless of mileage. 3. Ensure consumer safety is not compromised by arbitrary mileage cutoffs. In addition, my vehicle has also experienced repeated brake warning lights, which aligns with Ford’s brake hose recall (NHTSA recall 25v544). The combination of braking issues and flexplate failure creates an extremely unsafe condition. Thank you for your attention to this urgent safety matter. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

2018 Ford Edge with 2. 0 ecoboost engine over heating leaking coolant into cylinders caused engine failure. Lucky this did not catch fire. Ford knows the issue and will not put out a recall. Very dangerous and disgusting business practice.

The pre-collision camera stopped working. I was given a notice on my dashboard and had to repeat cancel 2 warnings that that indicated the front collision camera was no longer working. I brought it to g stone Ford dealership in vermont , which confirmed the camera had to be replaced. Because of the seriousness of the defective camera, I did have to have it replaced. I was concerned that the camera broke down much too early, as my mileage was only 20,235 miles. The invoice that shows it was replaced is number #10921. The car has never been in an accident.
First it's been a great car. But out of no where my body control module started to get hot . Now it has problems starting and keeping power.
The contact owns a 2018 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, the contact became aware that the rearview mirror and the instrument panel were inoperable. The contact stated that the rearview image appeared blank, and the instrument panel appeared blank while starting the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the apim module had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 109,000.
I recently bought this vehicle July 3, 2025 I have got it diagnosed and I have got everything replaced that was needed I have got a replacement battery, started, and alternator checked by different people everyone is saying they are good. But I keep getting "battery saver-system off please turn ignition off or start the engine" and it has shut down completely while I was in traffic and hesitant while driving and when I turn on the truck it says "sync performing scheduled system maintenance " and it has a loading bar underneath it. At this point I do not know what else to do please help !!!!.
7/2/25-I was driving about 20 miles per hour when suddenly my car went into a type of limp/idle mode. It shut the car down to an idle, a wrench light came on my dash then the car started to shake. I coasted into a driveway and turned the car off. I turned it back on after 5min and it was fine. 7/16/25-I was driving about 30mph and all of a sudden my car goes into this idle mode again. I got the car to coast over into a turning lane. It lost power down to an idle, wrench came up on dash again then the car started to shake. I turned the car off and back on and it was fine. I’m very scared to drive my car bc I don’t know when this will happen again. It could be when I’m turning in front of another vehicle, driving on the expressway or just normal streets or if someone was behind me and wasn’t able to react appropriately bc my car goes into this idle mode so fast that I don’t know how to keep from having an accident myself. 7/17/25-I took it to a machanic and they hooked it to a computer but nothing showed up as being wrong. They drove it several times but they couldn’t get it to do what I’m explaining what it does. After researching the issue, I believe it may be my electric throttle body etb that Ford acknowledged was an issue and had a customer satisfaction program cps (csp 13n03) from Ford for etb replacement on certain 2009-2013 ,. * jels, sometimes extended into the early 2014 model. * electronic throttle body failure * ??Ford etbs from this era are notoriously bad. * ??carbon buildup, worn internal sensors, or electronic glitches cause the throttle to stick or respond erratically. * ??the pcm detects an unsafe throttle position ? activates fail-safe mode ? wrench light + jerking + no throttle. * ??you restart the car, and the etb re-initializes until it fails again.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Edge. The contact stated that when the vehicle was started, the instrument cluster was black. The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle several times to reset the instrument cluster. The contact stated that the image was low quality and made seeing the speedometer and other gauges difficult. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a local dealer or independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 25v049000 (electrical system); however, the VIN or the model vehicle was not included. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 11,000.

My Ford Edge only has a little over 37,000 miles on it, it’s an 2020 model. Electronic throttle body went out. The car lost all power, when trying to mash the gas peddle , the power was decreasing, the engine was missing and running extremely ruff. I barely was able to get off to the side of the interstate safely. The brakes went out , my car issued 7 different power failures involving powertrain, restraints, anti-lock system , hill start, pre-collision , 2 repeated the same warning. These warnings only came on after the car lost power, not before. I had to have it towed. Since I have aaa, I had them tow it to their repair shop since it was only a few miles from where I was stranded. They replaced the throttle assembly. I tried to find out if there was a recall , no recall, but there has been class action suits against Ford for this same reason.
While driving my rpm's dropped to 0 and my car stalled out. I was able to drive home by doing this a few more times. Then white smoke starting coming out of the exhaust and it smelled like fireworks. No warning lights came on and my Ford pass app did not indicate there was a problem. I had it towed to aaa then had to have it towed to dealership. They told me I needed a complete new engine. It is a 2019 Edge titanium with 4 cylinder 2. 0l ecoboost turbo with 38997 miles! they started it was due to coolant intrusion. The 2018 Edge has a recall for this exact issue but not the 2019!! $12691. 17 to replace the engine!.
Overheating && electrical !!!! it’s been over heating since I got the dealership fixed it free of charge I’m still having the same problem I looked it up there are 3 recalls that’s I’m having the exact same problems with.
Last week my back up camera said there was a system error and only works sometimes now. I almost hit somebody because it started showing it was working and then it went black and then wouldn’t work again. I also have a video where it starts to show me backing up and then cuts out to being black and seeing contact your dealership. I did contact the dealership and they said there is not a recall in regards to my car specifically.
I went to back up, and the screen is either pitch black, or very distorted. It happens frequently.
Torque converter transmission! the whole car shudders when going from 10mph to 25/30mph. Shudder/shaking while accelerating low mileage @ 67k miles.
Driving home from work, I noticed a warning light indicating that the car was overheating. I stopped and realized the coolant tank was empty, so I immediately put some coolant in and continued driving home. The next day, the car wouldn't start, and after I checked the engine oil, it was contaminated with water. I called a Ford dealer for repair, and they don't want to take responsibility.

There were three recalls listed on your site that are no longer active which perfectly describe what is going on with my car at the moment we have had major electrical problems with it we have had problems with the tailgate not latching and opening while driving down the road also overheating when stopped at a light all of a sudden the air conditioner starts blowing hot air and it shoots up and overheats while you're idling out of traffic light the electrical system is totally messed up I can't even begin to list everything that has gone wrong with that the lights being turned on when we're not in the car to the no key in car actually going down the road it shut down no key and we were able to get it back on again but for a minute I thought that the car was going to stop moving it seems that this model car has had these issues in the past that recalls have been put out for but nothing is active for it right now and we're experiencing what was going on in those recalls I would appreciate it if you could look into this for me my daughter drives his car to school and she has been stranded several times I don't feel that it's safe for her to drive in this condition please let me know if there's anything you can do to reinstate any of these recalls to goodwill type extension of these recalls I don't know what to do at this point because all of this is very expensive to fix I am [xxx] she is a student I just want her to be able to drive a car that she's not going to get hurt in or be stranded someplace thank you for taking the time to look at this and I will hope to hear from you again my email is [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. 2011 Ford Edge backup camera system stopped working correctly in March 2025. The camera image is upside down.
I turned my car on and a warning light of adaptive steering sensor came on. Then my steering wheel was not in the correct position while I was driving. I only have 80 thousand miles on this vehicle. I feel like this vehicle should have been included the recalls of the other 2017 Ford Edges. Adaptive steering issues. Please add my VIN # to the recall so I can fix this. I’m afraid to drive it now. Thank you for your time with this problem. I can’t afford to fix this. I was told it would cost close to 4000 dollars.
Rear view (back up) camera works only on and off. The screen goes black and a warning to contact the dealer shows up. It is getting more and more frequent lately. I am having a very hard time in crowded parking lots. Now it has stopped completely.
The contact owns a 2018 Ford Edge. The contact stated that after refueling the vehicle, while attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle stalled three times after starting. The contact stated that the failure occurred daily. The contact stated that the battery charging warning light was illuminated. The dealer was contacted. The vehicle was taken to auto zone to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the canister purge valve needed to be replaced. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer and the contact was informed that the part to repair the vehicle was unavailable. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 18v735000 (fuel system, gasoline); however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was 31,200.
Driving on the highway at night when suddenly the door alarm rings, dome light turned on causing driver to lose focus/control. Was driving at 60mph when the sensor faulted. The alarm/notification turns on at random times causing the vehicle to have the light stay on and drain battery. This is causing the driver unsure if the door is properly closed and risking the door opening in case of an accident. Problem has persisted.
My battery savor comes on 2 times a week my battery came with my cat not even 3 years old.
