In June of 2022, the vehicle was exhibiting symptoms of hard to start especially after refueling, stalling, and poor drivability and the check engine light was illuminated. This vehicle was taken to local Ford dealer (dowling Ford- cheshire, CT) and diagnosed as a faulty fuel vapor separator (aka purge valve/solenoid) Ford part # f2gz-9d289-a. The dealer performed diagnosis/repair/replacement of this part at a total cost of approximately $600. The problem appeared to have been fixed, but now on 10/15/2024 the same issue re-appeared, and once again the dealer has determined same part has failed and now will cost $729 for diag/repair/replacement. This repair is just outside of the 2 year parts and labor warranty provided by Ford and/or dealer. According to my online research this is a well known and common problem with these vehicles as well as many other similar Ford vehicles which a recall has been issued for, and driver/occupant safety is gravely affected because this issue can cause stalling, poor throttle response, inability to start, and general poor driveability which seriously affects safety and cause a crash or cause driver to be unable to avoid a crash or other danger. Ford motor CO and Ford dealer refuses to accept responsibility for this issue and will not offer any assistance for repair. As of 10/29/24 the vehicle has not been repaired yet, and vehicle and parts are available for inspection.

The back up camera quit working about 6 months ago for a short time. Then it worked for about a week then stopped working completely. I had a message on the screen stating to bring it to the dealership. At that point the backup sensors were still working. Until about a week ago they quit completely. Now I get a warning to check the sensors but there is nothing stuck in or on the sensors. Now the entire back up system and sensors no longer work at all.
I currently have an few issues to report. When I press on the brakes, they make an air whistling sound and there’s nothing noticeably wrong with them. I’m also having problems with electrical on my screen and it won’t always connect with my phone and it also delays on the screen when it’s powering on or off. My tires have been leaking air since I purchased my vehicleand when I took it in, they said Ford mechanics said they sealed the valves but right when I got it back, it gave me a warning that I had low air pressure in my tires once again and my vehicle tires appeared like they were still low on air. I constantly have to fill them with air when I drive it. Every day they leak. But my biggest concern is the electrical and the brakes. I don’t know the exact date on when the electrical started acting up. I’m also curious if there’s been a recall on anything to do with the defrost on the windows because my windows do not defrost very well in our cold climate. I’m also wondering about the headlights. They seem like they’re not bright enough we’re just strange because they’re clear and there’s nothing obstructing them that’s noticeable. For safety I believe they should be a lot brighter than they are. I have not been in any car accidents and no one hit my vehicle.

I'm not sure if it's electrical or the transmission. My car is not going on parking gear. The car don't start abs the shifter is not moving. My car shifter was on parking gear, but on the dash it's not showing it's on parking. My safety concern is that the car rolls (moves) even though the car is off , no keys in the ignition. It's on parking but on the dash it's not displaying thr it's on parking gear. I need to apply the emergency breaks to keep the car from rolling ( moving) if the emergency breaks goes off the vehicle is going to roll causing to crash. I removed the cover to see if there was something causing the shifter from not moving. Then I took it to the nearest auto repair. I explained the issue and concern. They state the the shifter cable needs to be replaced. I took my vehicle to a mechanic for a second opinion he said it not the shifter cable. I never had this problem until recently. There was no warning it just didn't want to start. Now it is not go on parking gear. And it only starts un nneutraland to turned it off . I have to put it on reverse gear in order to retrieve my keys. And the emergency break must be on if not the car will roll.

If you hit a pot hole or a bump on the road the brake pedal makes a weird sound and then the brake goes all the way to the floorboard when trying to apply brakes and doesn't come to an immediate stop. The wrench light has come on or the symbol that has the car and wavy lines for traction control will turn on all of a sudden and then the car shuts off in the middle of the road while driving putting my life in danger. It also doesn't accelerate all of a sudden and loses power while driving putting my life in danger. When you put the car in park the car still jerks forward even after the car is in park and off. It also makes a clicking sound as if it goes into gear after you have turned the car off and park has been engaged. The headlights keep shutting off while driving or dimming in their own. The motormount screws came undone and I had to get it repaired. The power steering keeps losing the fluid and makes a loud grinding noise especially during cold weather. Makes a loud whistle sound like a turbo jet engine when it's cold and you start driving. The rear driverside door latch keeps making the car alert that the door is open when it is not. The recall only shows door latch for a different door and dealership won't repair with recall notice because the notice doesn't say all door latches and is specific to a different door. The car is unsafe to drive but it's the only car I have and the last time I took it to get repairs they kept it for a month and my it off pocket costs were close to $1600 dollars which put me in a financial strain. I can not afford to be without my car for that long again and pay for things that shouldn't be falling apart and putting my child's and my life in danger.
In 2020, I paid a local Ford dealership to replace my back up camera on my 2014 Ford Edge sel. The camera had failed and gave the " camera not available" to driver. Worked until July of 2024. In July, the new camera failed. The camera "inverted" the image the driver sees. This makes it impossible to use the camera safely for backing up or hazard during back up. I feel this is a critical safety issue, causing disorientation of the driver while backing up. A call to the Ford dealer got the reply " your vehicle is not covered under any Ford recall to date. The back-up camera has failed, and we can replace it at your cost".

Backup camera not working properly. Unsure if this falls under any recall headings for safety. I’ve seen many recalls on newer backup cameras but none on this year model. Was displaying upside down or with green lines across the screen and now just completely unavailable. Has not been diagnosed by Ford and will not be diagnosed by Ford out of my pocket. Can’t afford it. But it is available for inspection. I did clean some corrosion off of some wiring harness connections to no avail. Please advise.

Ford designed the vehicle with soy based insulation on the wires in the wiring harness, this attracts rodents which eat away at the wiring harness. Ford is aware of this but refuses to compensate or repair the damage. When the harness is compromised the tail lights, passenger airbag, passenger seatbelt and cross traffic warning indicators do not work. This presents multiple safety issues. The vehicle has been diagnosed by Ford stating the damage was caused by rodents entering the passenger compartment through the outside vent of the heating system. My vehicle has been repaired three times for the same issue. Ford has refused to warrantee any damage and has tld me to turn it in to my insurance which I had done. This has caused my insurance premium to increase due to the claim. I have all the documentation from the occurrences and the transcript of my conversation with Ford customer service. I want at minimum the vehicle fixed or replaced at Fords expense. Previously Ford had spoken with my insurance company and told them the harness needed to be spliced, they did not replace the entire harness this caused the rodents to return and damage more of the harness. .
My vehicle has a dash light warning for service that says "limited park brake function, service vehicle" and then applies my parking break on its own. I have at times be unable to get the parking brake to release and will have to start and stop my vehicle numerous times before it will accept me releasing the parking brake.

My radiator fan will randomly turn on after my car is off and then won’t shut off until my battery is dead.
The screen sometimes won’t work at all. Just get a black screen and the power button won’t turn it back on. Tried pressing all buttons and it wouldn’t turn on until I shut off the car and turned it back on.
I was driving on the highway and the steering wheel light with exclamation point came on along with flashing adaptive steering menu, traction control menu and up hill assistance menu came on the dash repeatedly, as I kept driving the steering got worse and I almost had an accident. I had no choice to get off at the next exit and was able to pull into a gas station at the end of the exit. I tried to google from my phone the warnings and saw there was over 86 complaints on the same issue. I turned off the car and waited for about 10 minutes before starting it again hpeing that maybe it would reset itself. When I started my car again, I had no steering. I was forced to be towed over an hour away and over $3500 to fix it.
The contact owns a 2024 Ford Edge. The contact stated that the hatch of the vehicle was designed to close automatically while the user owned the key fob, with the user's foot underneath the hatch. The contact stated that the hatch had been closing prematurely while the key fob was not near the hatch, and the hatch had hit both the contact and family members on the head. There was no injury sustained. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed, but the cause of the failure could not be determined. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and had sent engineers to diagnose the vehicle, but the engineers could not determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 5,000.
The rear driver side door ajar light well come on when the door is closed and not making my doom lights come off and stay on and running down my battery.
My cars rpm's started randomly jumping which would coincide with a slight jerking feeling when the car shifted gears. First I was told it was my spark plugs and then the coil packs. When both of those were changed and the problem persisted they ran multiple diagnostic tests and came up with nothing. Then my car started to shudder when I put gas in it and then the radio screen and door locks would intermittently stop working and again they found no error codes. Then my pre-collision warning system started going off when there are no cars even remotely near. The same for my blind spot indicators. They just go off for no reason. Now after months of issues and zero error codes, they say it's the transmission failing and it will cost me $6,000 to fix. That's assuming that is actually the problem.

Power steering leak(took it 3times to get it serviced), breaks(leak), transmission fluid leak(have to refill transmission fluid every week), electrical (dash board lights go off and on sometimes and do other funny stuff), back up my camera doesn’t work(car has blind spots so I need the camera to work), roof windows (work when they want), trunk door (closes by itself hitting me at closing). Check lights, tire light is on constantly and on since I bought the car, also oil light but now only sometimes since I keep putting oil and transmission fluid. And has something missing on the front windshield and sensor device of some sort and sometimes when I break I feel the vehicle wanting to go faster instead of stopping. Jerks. I took my vehicle to Ford and they pretty much ignored me making me there was no solution. No reports or anything. I called several times to take my car to get serviced telling them I felt unsafe but they pretended they couldn’t here me they didn’t want to deal with me cause my vehicle was too old 2011 Ford Edge limited. I don’t think it’s old I need a little guidance here before I take it to the next step. Please help me fix my vehicle my insurance at the time told me it has two recalls and Ford shined me off three or four times telling me no instead of helping.
My 2018 Ford Edge is equiped with ecoboost engine and as a result all these problems are occurring: Ford failed to disclose that these vehicles have a defect that causes coolant to leak into the engine’s cylinders, which can cause corrosion, oil dilution and contamination, and engine failure; and failed to disclose these defects create a safety risk, because the lack of coolant created by the leaks causes overheating and can result in the cylinder head cracking, total engine failure, and/or engine fires. Ford dealers have stated that I need a new engine.
I took my car into the dealership because my crash sensor light kept coming on & my cruise control wouldn’t work. The dealer said that the crash sensor bracket was fractured & the dealer wouldn’t repair it under warranty. The bracket wasn’t repaired, they wanted $595. 00 to repair it. This is the same complaint as NHTSA id# 11506284 on October 1, 2022. VIN# 2fmpk4j90mb****.
There was no warning stated in the dash, but I went to drive my car one day and the brakes were sunk to the floor. I drove it around carefully for a little bit and realized the brake pedal built pressure if it was constantly being pressed, however, it would lose the pressure instantly. I got the brakes bled and replaced a brake line since I had replaced both of the rear calipers prior (no issues there and no issues with brake pads or the brakes themselves). A few weeks went by and I lost the pressure again instantly. I called the mechanic to take a look and they replaced the brake booster and master cylinder and bled the brakes. The brake lines/hoses were fine with no leaks. I picked the vehicle up and the brake pedal is still soft and mushy with no pressure building. I am scared to drive it in case I accidentally hit someone and it is currently winter (snow & ice). I have new tires but I fear the brakes will give out on me soon. I don’t think these parts are up for inspection or whether the issue is with the abs module or the hcu, but it appears to be a common issue with 2012 Ford Edges and other years. The time frame for this is all within 10 weeks since I wasn’t driving my vehicle for about 4 weeks.

I recently bought my car and the battery light was on when I test drove it. They told me to bring it back and they would fix it. That it was a sensor problem easy to fix. I have brought the car back multiple times. They put a whole new sensor system in, new battery, and just recently rebuilt the alternator. As I was driving the car home, the light went on again it comes on a few times in the day, and eventually goes off by itself. None of the mechanics know what to do now. I looked up on google if there were any recalls on my car and read something about” the power supply cables at the starter, and the alternator may not have been properly secured, possibly resulting in an electrical arc. “ I’m thinking, possibly could this be it? the light that comes on says charging system service now in red and there is a picture of at battery. I do not feel safe, especially not knowing what the problem is.
My 2007 Ford Edge lost the use of my accelerometer pedal without any warning, while driving. The pedal collapsed to the floor. The engine continued to run. A wrench image appeared on the dashboard. After towing to service station the gas pedal worked again. No codes could be determined during two diagnostic procedures. After the first mechanics could not determine or diagnose a problem, nor replicate the problem, I had it towed to my local Ford dealership. Their diagnosis claimed no indication of an issue on their diagnostic computer either. I’m afraid to drive my car. Lisa walker, sacramento, California 916-206-2674 lwalker206@yahoo. Com.
