Fuel Hoses Lines/piping And Fittings Problems of Ford Edge

On a Sunday afternoon I noticed a fuel smell in my car as I drove it to the store. The smell of gas was especially strong when I had the heater on. Upon arriving home I opened the hood and noticed a mist coming from behind the engine near the placement of the steering wheel. I took it into the dealership where they identified it as a cracked fuel line damper. Fuel was leaking on to the engine and into the cabin. I searched online and noticed that the 2012 Edge had been recalled previously for the same issue. When I brought this up to the service team member, the dealership indicated that my Edge was manufactured after the dates covered by the recall. The repair cost $700 because I was a few thousand miles beyond the 36,000 warranty.

Ford has the check engine light, which they refer it to "check engine soon" that comes on. There is a defect with Ford's capless fuel tank. Something about this issue causes the check engine light to light up non-stop! I am concerned that down the line, there will be numerous issues with the capless systems. It does not appear durable and will cost hundreds out of the pocket of owners whose warranty will expire after 2-3 years!!!!!!!!!!! a search on the internet does show consumers who have problems with this type of system, but then again there are thousands of those who are not computer savvy!.
