Seat real ease for rear seats doesn't work. Reading forums multiple people have issue and the fix requires removing seats and replacing the cable on the release mechanism. Due to safety concerns I didn't want to remove and replace seat by myself.

The car salesman was demonstrating how the rear seat backs fold down. He was on one side of the car, I on the other. We both returned the seat backs to their upright positions. He returned his seat back slightly beyond vertical. My wife sat in the seat, leaned forward, and pulled the lever to move the seat back to its vertical position. The seat back sprung forward. It forcefully hit my wife's back and neck, causing her to nearly lose her breath. It hurt her. The salesman then said she should have been leaning against the back when she pulled the lever to keep it from springing forward. The problem is not with the salesman and his instructions, it is with the force of the seat back springing forward.

The contact owns a 2011 Ford Edge. The contact stated that the vehicle was equipped with three child restraint seat latch anchors in the rear seat area. The seat with the one anchor installation prevented a child seat to be positioned in that specific seat. The contact was displeased to know that the vehicle was not designed for two rear facing child restraint seats to be positioned in different rear seats at the same time. The manufacturer was notified and they stated that there were certain models designed with four rear seat latch anchors. The approximate failure mileage was 1,000. . . .
