On Dec 11, 2025, the driver’s heated seat in my 2013 Ford Edge overheated within minutes of activation, causing first- and second-degree burns to the occupant. The vehicle was inspected on March 18, 2026 and escalated for management review, but the manufacturer failed to provide the promised follow-up by March 26, 2026, and the defect remains unresolved, posing an ongoing risk of injury. No problems prior to ever using the heated seats.

The front driver seat belt has been fraying to the point that there’s only about 1/2” of belt left to hold it together. It’s frayed above the buckle so if I was to hit anything & depending on the belt to save my life I’m screwed bc it’ll just snap. I’ve contacted Ford who refuses to replace it under warranty bc it’s been over 6yrs which is wrong bc it is a genuine Ford motor craft part and peoples safety and lives depend on the seatbelt to save lives. It shouldn’t only be under warranty for a limited amount of time if it’s an original Ford part. So bc Ford has discontinued all parts and belts for the front driver’s side I can’t find a replacement for under $200! so this is deadly and I’m not sure what led to this level of fraying other than the mechanical device it winds up in. I always wear my belt and never has it been in the door or anything so I’m not sure what caused this horrible problem but it’s even worse Ford refuses to replace it. I drive a 2010 Edge se fwd it has only 88k miles and has barely been driven and one owner. I’ve looked online and seen that a lot of Fords have had recalled seat belts. I believe this needs to be a recall especially considering all the front driver’s seat belts on Ford have been discontinued and they don’t offer any other brand of replacement. How can they expect to ensure the safety of the driver of the car if they don’t have a lifetime replacement warranty on the actual belt itself or even offer a replacement for a decent price or a replacement at all for that matter considering all have been discontinued that tells me they weren’t that secure to begin with if they aren’t even available.

Intermittently the seat heater for the drivers seat activates on its own. Goes to full heat getting extremely hot. Cannot initially turn down or off with the button on dash. Have to turn off vehicle and let it sit. Start vehicle - seat heater still on full. Sometimes the off/start sequence has to be repeated several times, before the button will work, lowering or turning off the seat heater. Incidents are increasing in frequency. Now taking more off/starts to get the seat heater to deactivate. Last incident. 5 off/start sequences over an 8-10 minute period.

The rear camera started to turn into a blue screen and sometimes it looked like static. We were told to go to Ford to change the camera (2020 or 2021?). After paying over $900 to fix the camera it broke yet again. We were 3 months past the 2 year warranty and was told if we wanted it fixed we would have to pay again. Now sometimes the camera works when backing out and sometimes its just solid blue. It is available for inspection upon request. This is risky because sometimes there are blind spots when turning our heads to ensure we are not going to hit a pedestrian. Also it takes me twice as long to reverse park due to having to use my mirrors to see the lines which causes drivers to honk or appear restless because I'm not fast enough which could cause me to crash into a parked vehicle. The problem has been confirmed by a dealership which is why they told us to replace it, but now they want us to replace it yet again. No warning lights. The vehicle no longer detects if objects are nearby. This happened shortly before the camera went out. They quoted us on fixing it and we refused due to cost. The vehicle drivers seat cooling and heating no longer works. It works for the passenger, but not the driver. This happened in 2019.

I was driving on the freeway, when all of the sudden the driver seat started to move by itself, and the door locks started locking and unlocking by itself.
The seat feels like it’s leaning to the right and rocks back on start and rocks forward on stop. Please advise if this is part of a larger issue.

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Edge. The contact stated that the track underneath the front driver’s side seat had a sharp Edge, which cut her ankle. The contact had a cut on the back of the right calf but did not seek medical attention. An appointment with the dealer was scheduled to inspect the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.
I have a 2024 Ford Edge sel. The issue is the the driver front and passenger front head rests. The head rest is only adjustable up to down, not forward or back. The current position of the head rest with the seat in normal upright driving position forces your head into your chest and you are looking at the floor with no neck support. There is no position to adequately support your head and neck with the current headrest. It is tilted too far forward toward the windshield. Dealer confirmed. Dealer looked it over and said this is how its made. No warnings. Just the position of the headrest appears to be tilted extraordinarily too far forward. High potential for injury in a crash. What I'd like to see is an alternate headrest to alleviate the angle the current one poses upon the drive rand passenger.

The drivers side power seat motor appears to be malfunctioning. When the seat is moved, the motor makes a grinding/vibrating noise. It appears to be a defective motor. Ford dealer inspected the car today, and reported upon checking there were no codes when scanned, so the seat could not be repaired. There is concern for safety, as this is the drivers side seat and if the power motor stops functioning after the seat is moved, the driver will be unable to safely drive the vehicle.
The contact owns a 2024 Ford Edge. The contact stated that the rear bench seat was loose. The contact stated that the base was attached; however, the back of the bench moved and wiggled when the hand was placed anywhere on the bench. The contact stated that the seat was not secured, and it was not safe to install the car seat on the bench. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the contact was informed that it was normal for the seat to move. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 2,000.

I got the Edge in 02/18/23 purchased brand. I noticed that the drivers seat is loose. I actual took into the dealer where it was purchased and I was told it would take 3 months to look at it. Needless to say I didn't leave the vehicle. I also notice that body trim was coming off and I filed a claim with Ford but I was told a dealer would have to send pictures and they would decide if they would cover it under warranty. The lane keep assist or Ford CO-pliot will over compensate and if not careful will cause a crash.

I had my heated seats on for a trip to my mother's. We stopped every 2 to 3 hours for gas and breaks. 12 hours into the 14 hour trip I started feeling pain on the back of my legs. I checked on our next break and saw blisters forming on the backs of my legs. By the time I had arrived most of the blisters had popped. Car was in motion.

Driver's seat began to rock back and forth with vehicle motion. Seat is power with memory. Dealer states that its a known issue with no recall or TSB. Quoted $1600 for replacement. Seat has now began to move forward under braking conditions, and aft under acceleration. This is an unsafe condition that could be a major contributing factor to an accident. Upon inspection of the seat track, the guide rails have began seperating and have become loose.
I drove for over 8 hours with the seat warmer on high and I literally burned my bottom. I ended up having to go to an urgent care a few days later where they prescribed antibiotics and a prescribed ointment. It had a bug blister which broke and now open wound. It is definitely a burn and now treating for wound care.
When accelerating, the driver's seat rocked upward and I almost lost control of the car. The rear of the seat remained attached to the rail. The diagnosis per the Ford dealer was that the seat rails were faulty and needed to be replaced. This is a 2014 model car, and I have never had such an issue after over 40 years of driving.
Drivers seat rocks backwards about 5 inches upon acceleration and rocks forward when stopping. When it rocks backwards you feel as if the seat is going to go over backwards and you panic for a second before recovering. This is going to cause an accident. This is a common problem with Ford Edge driver seats.
The contact owns a 2018 Ford Edge. The contact stated that the driver’s and passenger’s side seat adjustment rails had sharp Edges. Due to the seat tracks sharp Edges, the contact punctured her left leg on the track upon entering the vehicle. The contact sought medical treatment for her injury and was treated for an infection to the wound on her left leg. The contact went to the dealer and notified them of the issue. The dealer decided to place tape on the Edges of both seat adjustment tracks to prevent any further injuries. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but offered no further assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.
Tl the contact owns a 2011 Ford Edge. While driving at an unknown speed and attempting to stop abruptly, the front driver's seat fractured, fell forward, backwards, and then layed down flat. The driver's seat rocks when accelerating or braking, as if it has come loose. I have taken car to my mechanic to have it repaired, he says there is nothing loose for him to tighten. Has been doing this for the last several months.
Door indicator light stay on interior lights stay on indicating that the driver side door is open when door is shut. Lights pop on at any rate of speed scary and extremely dangerous passenger side seat doesn't move at all sometimes the whole screen will go a dime white and blank during any rate of speed.
