On June 24, 2015 the dealership service department had to replace the seat track on the drivers side. It was stuck in the up position and would grind when you tried to move it with the power switch. Now 2/1/2018 the drivers side seat is not secure and it rocks when you accelerate and braking. Ford service department informed me today that the track needs to be replaced again. Cost to me would be $1,640. 00. A quick scan of the "Ford Edge forum" indicated at least 18 reports of the same problem. To me this is a serious safety concern and should be fixed by the Ford motor company. I spoke with Ford's customer relations department this morning 2/1/2018 and they assigned a case number and will let me know what Ford will do provide assistance in the repair of this problem. A solution by Ford should be found and a recall should go out to fix this problem once and for all.

The drivers seat rocks/shifts back and forth when taking off and stopping. After doing research this has come up as a common issue with similar Fords in the past few years. Seems to be the seat track, it has been identified as a faulty item on Ford Edge models all the way from very beginning of vehicles hitting the market,.

Takata recall - the 2010 Ford Edge has a flaw with the seat track. The vehicle seat track appears to be stretched open over prolonged use and begins to rock back and forth with accelerating and braking. This concern is the seat track may stretch to a point where it will separate from base and track in a motor vehicle crash. I've also discovered through on line checks that this is a common problem with Ford Edge, explorer and several other vehicles Ford manufactures.

Front seat moves back and front broke track.
From the date we bought our Ford Edge we have had white particles, dust and dirt coming in from all of the door seals and rear back hatch. The white particles are all through the vehicle. There is a brown dust or dirt on the top of the passenger seat and rear passenger seat and on the head rests for both seats. The dirt and dust makes me cough a lot, ( no one has ever smoked in the car ). It feels like we are inside of a vacuum cleaner disposable bag. We believe none of the seals on any of the doors work properly. When we first got the car, a burning smell was coming from the passenger side of the vehicle. A new exhaust system was put on the car a month after we bought it. That problem with the burning smell went away. We were told by the fourth dealership that we took the vehicle to that all the seals on the doors and back hatch would have to be replaced, but that never came about. So here we sit with all the white dust and dirt. We believe the cabin filters are not working. So the dust and the dirt are also coming in through all of the vents in the vehicle.

This problem has been confirmed to exist in both a 2011 and a 2014 Ford Edge. With a passenger weighting 72-75 lbs in the front passenger seat, the air bag turns on and off depending on how the passenger is sitting on the seat. This same passenger has traveled almost 50,000 miles in a 2011 mustang which has a similar sensor system and has never had the air bag turn on. We are able to reproduce this problem at will. This information suggests a problem in the Ford Edge with the software that monitors the front passenger seat sensors and determines when to turn on the front passenger air bag. This was reported to Ford on 07/22 and we checked on it on 09/23 and there was no update, indicating that they have not taken any action on this.
The front seat is tight and had a dealer to check that but when u accelerate the seat jumps backwords and when you brake the seat jumps forwards. The seat track is bad. After reading online alot of people are having this issue.
Tl-the contact owns a 2010 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while driving at 40 mph, the brake pedal was depressed and the seat independently moved forward. The vehicle was taken to a dealer who diagnosed that the seat track needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 55,000. Oo.
We have had a problem with our Ford Edge going into limp mode while driving. Luckily it has been at low speeds so we were able to pull over and turn off vehicle. Il when this problem happens, it idles very roughly and it like it loses its mind. You cannot accelerate and a wrench pops up on the dash. When you turn off veichle and turn it back on, it's fine.
The driver's side door sensor is not reading that the door is closed and remains on. This is the second time in a year that I am going to have the sensor replaced.
To ladys and gentalmen my 2008 Ford Edge se front drive the foam is not holding to the seat frame any more just come off see no way of fixing it and if it causes harm to me and or some one else in a crash that's out of my control there will be a law suit " sorry to say once you see the seat youll no, other wise the truck is very nice but wont buy another because of this quality problem" ! this is a safety concern along with air bags combine togeather so one effects the other in a crash and shure would like to hear from Ford before they have to hear from me. Thanks to who this may concern. .
When accelerating, you can feel the drivers and/or passenger front seat shift backward. When stopping, you can feel the drivers and/or passenger front seat shift forward. I have questioned this at the dealership without resolution. I can't find anything that will allow me to tighten down the seats. I don't feel this extra play in the seat is safe in the event of a wreck.
Drivers seat rocks back and forth during acellerating and decellerating at speeds. Creates an unexpected action that causes disorentation during driving. Can cause an accident.
Driver seat warmer failed to turn off when pressing buttons on myford touch system, or by turning off climate all together. It remained activated on high setting for 35 minutes. Seat warmers are suppose to turn off after 15 minutes. Only got it to turn off by turning vehicle completely off while stopped at a red light. I felt the heat on my back side for approximately 1 hour after. This vehicle "passed" the Ford certified pre-owned check list. What a huge disappointment.

The contact owns a 2013 Ford Edge. The contact stated that the passenger seat was extremely low causing concern that if the air bag was to deploy, it would strike her in the face. The contact mentioned that the vehicle was not equipped with a seat adjustment switch. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but did not offer any assistance since they could not alter the design of the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 2,000. Updated 4/29/13 updated 05/23/2013.
Tl- I love NHTSA.
2012 Ford Edge. Consumer states problem with memory seat function the consumer stated the seat suddenly moved forward. Several days later, it happened again. Finally, he was able to get the memory function to set without any problem.
When using brakes the drivers seat will rock forward. When accelerating the drivers seat will rock back.
The front seat head rests of my 2008 Ford Edge has an angle that stretches my neck forward in an uncomfortable angle. I get severe neck pain if the back of my seat is up to support my lumbar region. If I lower the back to keep the head rest from jutting my neck forward, my lumbar region is not supported and I get back pain. So, quite often I end up with the seat forward to support my lower back and I sit at an angle to the right or left with my head to the side of the head rest and arms resting on the arm rests. So I drive at an angle in the seat with an s in my back. This is not good for my back or posture and not safe because I am not facing straight forward. I have called the Ford dealer I bought the car from and they did not seem to have any solutions for this, but noted that there have been problems with this. It was suggested that I contact you and report this problem . I have and hope that I am not the only one with this issue. Thank you for your attention to this.
The contact owns a 2007 Ford Edge. While stopped on the interstate, the contact's vehicle was rear ended by another vehicle traveling between 30 and 50 mph. The driver was injured because the driver's seat detached from the track and pushed the contact into the steering wheel. A police report was filed. The current mileage was 4,500 and failure mileage was 4,300.
