Evap system purge valve problem after filling gas tank and leaving station, vehicle stuttering and stalled on road (safety issue). I had to wait to restart and then give it gas and brake at same time to get car moving. Engine light appeared. Took vehicle to o'reilly auto parts store 4-12-24 for diagnostic scan of problem. Code was p1450 unable to bleed up fuel tank vacuum repair canister purge valve/solenoid. Took vehicle to Ford dealership on 4/17/24 with information on code. Ford confirmed repair was required. I googled the issue and noticed Ford has recalls for this problem and asked if my vehicle was covered. Ford said "unfortunately your vehicle is not included", so I had to pay for repair. No choice as this problem is a driving safety issue. It appears from njtsa. Gov and other websites that many others have complained about this problem on this vehicle.

Upon filling the gas tank, once park in the garage there is an overpowering smell of gasoline. I've cleaned the filler seal, checked for leaks "none noted. " no fuel on the ground beneath the vehicle. The tank is not over filled, no residual fuel around the filler neck or running down the overfill drain. Fuel smell goes away after the tank is between 3/4 to 1/2 full. This is a dangerous situation which needs to be addressed by a recall. I suspect that there is a bad seal on the fuel pump or tank my be damaged.

The interior of my car filled with gas fumes after filling the tank on11/4/2019. I called don hinds Ford the next morning and dropped it off that evening. The service department inspected it and found that the gas tank was leaking. The gas tank had been replaced due to a recall just 15 months ago. Ford refuses to replace, stating hat the warranty is expired. We have asked our dealership to complete the repairs. My concern is that Ford motor company replaced defective gas tanks with defective gas tanks. Ford customer service suggested that I take it to an "authorized Ford service provider" even after I told them that it was already at a authorized Ford sevice provider. . . Even though my car is leaking gas and could catch fire, even though I told them that my car's interior was filled with gas fumes.

Issues with fuel neck filler. Code p0456. After filling up unleaded gas in the capless gas tank, the vehicle stalls upon starting ignition. This is now a consistent problem with the vehicle. Air may be filling up in the gas tank. In 2014, 2012-13 Ford Edges were recalled for fuel leaks. However, this vehicle does not fall under that recall, even though it was manufactured during the same years.

I noticed a smell of gas for two days after completely filling my gas tank the last time. It lasted for 3 days before I decided to take it in to have it looked at. I was then told I have two holes in the top of my gas tank and it would be around $1800 to be replaced. Although, that isn't an option at the moment because the replacement tanks are on back order since this issue is occuring so frequently and they have no specific date of when one will be available. Now I am nervous to drive my car due to concern of fire, but am faced with the uncertainty of how long I will be waiting until a gas tank becomes available.
For several days prior to and after filling the gas tank, there was a strong smell of gasoline while driving, while parked in garage and while parked in lot. Dealership noted that the gas tank had completely rusted and was leaking at the seam. (although I do live in a northern state, the vehicle has been garaged during winter, washed appropriately, well taken care of and routine maintenance). The dealership customer service and Ford customer service were extremely poor. Ford customer service stated that there is no recall, therefore they will not stand behind their product- this will not be the first review that you will read about this exact same issue. After doing more research, the 2007-2009 models have the same fuel tank and the 2008 model has been recalled for this issue. A 7 year old car should not have to have the gas tank replaced, especially when this is noted at the seam. This manufacturer defect is a safety liability that Ford does not want to claim and refuses to put the safety of it's customers above the financial burden this would cause them. The fumes alone are toxic and if there was any type of spark on the roadway, this could result in a fire, accidents and death. It's sad that an american company has such poor customer service and poor safety standards. This will be the last Ford vehicle that I will own.
