We bought this vehicle a week ago. Every time we park in the garage there is a strong gas smell but no sign of leaking gas under the vehicle. 2008s were recalled for leaking seam in fuel tank but this one is not?.

Car is steering on it own. It also has a leak in the gas tank. Front airbags have a recall.

The roll-over valve on the top of the fuel tank cracked allowing gas to escape when the tank was over half full. The rollover valve is part of the tank assembly and cannot be replaced by itself. I had to purchase a new tank assembly for $1300 plus labor.

It was discovered that there are toxic fumes and fuel leakage coming from the fuel tank area. Most prevalent when the fuel tank is full. Noticed while in transit or while stationary. Dangerous inhilation to passengers in or around the vehicle has caused headaches and labored breathing. This error was occurring in previous year models and opening the earlier recall for this problem is necessary for safety and customer satisfaction. Direct contact with Ford motor company has not perfected a solution to remedy this problem.

After I filled up my gas tank two days later when the car parked. . I notice a strong gas smell near the rear left tire. I looked down to found out it was the gas tank leaking from the top. 2007 Ford Edge gas tank leaks.

2009 Ford Edge awd 80k miles strong gas smell and evidence of leak seen in driveway prompted visit to mechanic. Leak discovered coming from corroded seam of fuel tank on passenger side. No check engine light ever alerted me that there was a problem. Internet search revealed fuel tank recall of 128,000 Ford Edge and Lincoln mkx cars built at oakville assembly plant between September 1th, 2008 through July 1st, 2010. My car was built at that plant at that time but I was never informed of the recall. (fomoco recall number: 15s31) I called Ford and they said my car was not included in the recall.

My fuel tank leaks . It only leaks when I fill my tank with gas. I have to it at half a tank.

I have a 2008 Ford Edge with a gas tank leak, the gas tank need to be replaced due to the inside being completely rusted and erosion. There is a recall 14v682000 - however my vehicle is not a part of this recall although it was originally purchased in connecticut, it was built at the oakville assembly plant. I was informed by Ford that it may be included at a later date. That is not helping me when my vehicle is out of service now and has to be fixed.

For 2-3 weeks, smelled gas vapors when we got near the car to go somewhere. I got under the car and took a photo of a rust spot with gas staining near it. It looks like it was part of a recall (14v682000) but our car was not included. When I asked the dealer about it they said they took care of the recall on one of our previous visits. I had to pay for a new gas tank.

He said that he smelled gas and saw a large leak from the gas tank in his driveway. The vehicle was taken to the dealer priority Ford 7520 n military hwy, norfolk, va 23518 (757) 419-2500 and they stated that there was no rust on the fuel tank and that gas was leaking at the seams. They further stated that it would be the contact's responsibility to pay for the repairs with no recalls showing at this time. The dealer stated that they had removed the tank prior to the inspection for the recall repair last year and reinstalled it. The manufacturer had not been called yet. The dealer did say they would submit a claim to the manufacturer and await their ruling. The failure mileage was 160,000. Tf.

Tl-the contact owns a 2008 Ford Edge and took his vehicle in for a recall repair at the dealer coggin Ford jacksonville 9650 atlantic blvd, jacksonville, FL 32225 (904) 747-8996 for the NHTSA recall number: 14v-682000 (fuel system, gasoline). The fuel tank was repaired with a wax seal. One month later the contact noticed a large fuel leak from under the fuel tank. The contact called the dealer and got a return appointment. The dealer tried to charge the contact $1,600 for the fuel tank even after the initial recall repair was covered under a 12 month 12,000 mile warranty. The dealer referred the contact back to the manufacturer. The contact got a case from the manufacturer who stated knowledge about the recall warranty. The manager at customer relations at the manufacturer stated there was nothing they could do about the issue and hung up on the contact. The result was that the vehicle has been at the dealer for two weeks and was still un repaired. The contact just spoke to the dealer today and was told that there was no replacement fuel tank for the repairs and to come tow his vehicle away and fix it himself with a used part. T.

Car was in motion on a paved state of nebraska highway. I heard a load pop, did not see anything in road or feel that the car hit any kind of road hazard. Was two miles from home, no warning light came on. When parked I did smell gas but could not determine where it was coming from because there was a light rain. In the morning all fuel had drained out on the ground and down the street. Had it towed to shop, they found a hole in the gas tank and determined it was a road hazard collision. Ford seems unable to provide a replacement tank and it appears it will likely be months before they can get one in. Just concerned that this tank maybe prone to holes caused by perhaps just a rock being thrown up under the tank. This could have been a very bad situation as I am a smoker and often sit in my car and have one before going in the house. I am also concerned that Ford can't provide a replacement tank, and several places I have check say the tank for this car has been discontinued. Possible problem with the existing tank that they are not disclosing. Why should it take 3 months to get a replacement gas tank?.

The gas tank was replaced October 2016 on a recall, that gas tank is now leaking.

Fred beans Ford closed my recall on fuel tank corrosion and says its fine. Ford wont do anything cause fred beans says its fine!.

I did not own this vehicle when the recall was produced I have own this car for about 2 years with no problem until about 2 weeks ago I discovered that there is gas leaking from the bracket of the gas tank. Once in park you can either smell a strong odor of gas and you can see where the the gas has been leaking onto the ground.

I can smell fuel coming from the rear of the car. Sometimes it leaks enough to leave stains on the street. Took it to metro Ford of oklahoma city and they said my car was not included in any type of recall. After reading about the recall Ford issued on many previous models, I feel that my problem is being avoided and they aren't concerned about my family's safety. Very upset. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who stated that the fuel tank needed to be replaced. The contact spoke with cowles parkway Ford (located at 13779 noblewood plaza, woodbridge, va 22193, (703) 986-5500) and stated that the failure was associated with NHTSA campaign number: 15v712000 (fuel system, gasoline); however, the part was not available. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 180,000. Parts distribution disconnect.

Tl the contact owns a 2007 Ford Edge. While operating the vehicle, the odor of fuel was present and the fuel gauge levels rapidly diminished after refueling. Upon inspection, the owner observed fuel leaking from the fuel tank. The vehicle was taken to northgate Ford (8940 colerain Ave, cincinnati, OH) where it was diagnosed that there was a crack in the fuel tank and the tank needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The contact was informed that the vehicle was previously serviced per NHTSA campaign number: 14v682000 (fuel system) in 2016, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 82,000.

When wife fills up gas tank the strong smell of gas you can smell from outside of car.

I can smell gas at the rear of my car. I had my struts serviced and the mechanic noticed corrosion and a fuel leak. He didn't want to drop the tank to get a closer look fr fear it would void a recall repair. I checked for a recall and noted there was one for certain 2009 Edge's but my VIN didn't show one.

When the fuel tank is filled, the odor of gasoline is very strong inside the vehicle to the point that it is extremely dangerous. The car must be vented to be able to breathe. Causing headaches and fear of any ignition of the fumes. It has been happening for the last four times I have filled my tank. There is a recall on this issue for other 2012 Edge's but mine is not listed and it should be. This is very dangerous. I could be killed.

The gas tank is slow leak has become increasingly dangerous. Also the slow has increased.

The dash area where the passenger air bag is located has begun to crack. The entire right side of the air bag square has separated. Also, when stopping the vehicle at a stop light, in traffic, etc. , there is a strong odor of gasoline, especially if the fuel tank is less than full.

I was having an engine light come on intermittently sometimes even just after my vehicle had been in for warranty work. It would sometimes even make a stalling engine sound when I filled the tank with gas. With the light on one of these occasions I took it to autozone and was told that two of the 02 sensors were bad. The next day I took the vehicle I'm to find out that a cannister purge valve had gone bad and needed to be replaced. A week later I get a recall on my 2nd vehicle, a Ford focus 2014 for the cpv.

Fuel is leaking, 1 believe from the fuel tank. The vehicle was in park, but left on for about 30 minutes. When I returned and reversed out the parking spot I noticed a puddle at the back end of the parking spot. I smelled the puddle and it was fuel.

"takata recall" we have tried reaching out to several dealerships for the past year regarding both of our recall notices (airbag and fuel tank). Every time we received one we have contacted (3) nearby Ford dealerships in grand rapids, every dealership for the past year continues to inform us they do not have the parts and services and to call back in a month. Every month for the past year we have called - still no parts! we are aware this car came from florida from our report, which we purchased in michigan. Today, October 26th, 2018 received the settlement claim. It states we cannot be apart of the claims because we have not serviced our vehicle yet. However, we have tried for one full year to get this vehicle serviced! at this point in time, we are now considering hiring an attorney and attending the hearing on December 11th, 2018. We would like to receive notification how to get our recalls resolved and serviced in michigan, since noparts are available (on-going over one-year of calling). Fuel tank and or line is leaking but not on recall list.

Tl-the contact owns a 2007 Ford Edge. The contact stated that the vehicle was parked in the garage, a very strong odor of fuel was present. The vehicle was taken to an unknown independent mechanic that determined that the fuel tank was leaking because of corosion and needed replacement. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for a diagnosis. The ,manufacturer was advised of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 108,000. Bp.

The vehicle check engine light pressure is coming on and just received a full or change. The fuel inlet light is coming on and on a full tank. The recalls don't show on my vechile and I'm concerned as I have 4 children. That safety of my purchase vehicle is not safe from me or my family.
