While I was driving my car stopped accelerating on busy [xxx] . It was myself my son his girlfriend who is pregnant and her [xxx] son no indication there was a problem just heard a some kind of noise and it loses speed when try to accelerate it wouldn’t we where able to turn in to a gas station. I then cut the car off and when I tried to restart it the car wouldn’t start a week prior to this a wench did pop up on my dashboard when I looked in the manual it said that I need to take car to get looked at, at earliest convenience but a week. I have only had these vehicle seen December 2023 I paid cash for the vehicle and had warranty that was up to late last year the noise I heard sound like the same noise that when I purchased the vehicle maybe about 3 weeks later they had to fix something with the transmission maybe whatever wrong with it had something to do with that I know if we where on the highway we could have died I have had many cars that had mechanical problems but not none of them ever lost acceleration while driving my car will not start after I cut it off. Unknown what is going on with it just gave the details that happened on [xxx]. Before the malfunction the car started and drove fine until that noise and the car lost acceleration no messages appeared on the dashboard that day. The vehicle experienced engine failure due to coolant intrusion into the engine cylinders. The issue presented with engine misfire, including diagnostic trouble code p0302, rough running, and coolant entering the combustion chamber. The condition was confirmed by a dealership, which determined that the engine has internal damage and requires full engine replacement. There were no external coolant leaks observed. This failure occurred at approximately 88,000 miles and was not consistent with normal wear and tear. The issue developed without significant prior warning other than engine misfire and rough operation. This condition may create a safety risk, as engine misfire and internal damage can lead to loss of power, reduced vehicle performance, or potential engine stall while driving. Technical service bulletins have been issued for similar vehicles equipped with the same engine, including TSB 19-2172, TSB 19-2208, and TSB 22-2229, which describe coolant intrusion into engine cylinders and require engine replacement. This suggests the issue is not isolated and may affect other vehicles with the same engine design.

Vehicle started shuddering. Year is a 2022 so less than 5 years old. My son and I both drive this vehicle and the car starts to slow and jerk making it unsafe to drive. Taken vehicle to many shops who could not find the problem. Finally took it to Ford and they confirmed the torque converter is failing. I bought this vehicle because I thought it would be a safe family vehicle and boy was I wrong. Please make this right. I've done my research and I've seen many complaints about this same exact problem. Noone in this current economy has 11,000 to put into a vehicle I still have 6 years to pay on. This vehicle is new and should not need a new transmission.

My vehicle 2008 Ford Edge had a safety recall from 2012 and the gas tank that the previous owners never had taken care of it or resolved. I purchased a car in February. I filled the gas tank. I parked it in my condo and I used my secondary car to go to work that day. Well, the management called me and said that my gas tank exploded and that there was fuel all over the condo parking lot. Had the fire department come and secure the car they took care of the gasoline in the parking lot and then I had it towed to miller Ford when we found out that there was a recall on that gas tank. This car has been at this dealership three times it’s going tomorrow. This will be the fourth time for the same issue. I feel that this car is not safe. I feel that because nobody addressed this safety recall since 2012 that everything was corroded. I almost got into three accidents because the car stalled on me on three different occasions.

We keep replacing the purge valve solenoid. There was a recall in 2021 but 2025 and now we have to change it within a week or two after putting the new one on. It has went dead going underneath a red light and just turning in the roadway. It is getting very dangerous. Help please!.
Every time I fill my gas tank up the car acts like it will not turn over and gives me a battery error. I have a brand new battery in my car and key just replaced both December 2025. After turning the car off and waiting then hitting the start button the car will start up then shutter. After going down the road it's fine and doesn't have the issue of not starting.
Driver door says ajar even when shut, inside lights stay on. Fuel indicator says ajar stays on. Backup camera shows upside down.

Safety defects and mechanical failures my 2020 Ford Edge (VIN: [xxx] ) is plagued by systemic safety defects that render it unroadworthy under pennsylvania law (37 PA. Code § 301. 2). [1, 2] the 8f35 transmission suffers from a documented "shudder" and loss of motive power (TSB 21-2389), creating a high risk of collisions in traffic. [3, 4, 5] additionally, the vehicle is subject to critical federal recalls: recall 21s02 (21v-011) regarding sudden rear axle seizure [6, 7, 8] and recall 20s49 (20v-550) regarding a lethal fire hazard from leaking transmission fluid. [9, 10, 11] the engine also exhibits a design flaw known as "coolant intrusion" (TSB 19-2346), which leads to catastrophic engine failure and hydro-lock. [12, 13, 14] ?deceptive trade practices and lender liability carmax sold this vehicle as "quality certified" without fulfilling the disclosure requirements mandated by the 2022 multistate attorney general settlement. [15, 16] specifically, carmax failed to provide the required standalone, signed disclosure form for open safety recalls prior to the sale. [17, 18, 15] because this transaction was financed through santander consumer USA, the lender is derivatively liable for carmax’s deceptive acts under the ftc holder rule (16 c. F. R. § 433). [19, 2] this federal rule allows me to assert all legal claims and defenses against santander that I have against carmax, including breach of the implied warranty of merchantability, which overrides any "as-is" disclaimer when a vehicle is sold in a non-roadworthy condition information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

The coils kept popping up check engine light. And turns out it was an injector failing, and cause my car to jerk a lot, and not accelerate when needing. My car would almost try to stop accelerating while on highway and jerk so much that it felt like I was going to wreck on the middle of a freeway.
I purchased this vehicle used in August 2025 from the estate of a friend's relative. The records show it was meticulously maintained and no recall notices have been unaddressed. The prior owner used it infrequently and it still has just under 90k miles. There were no major engine issues when my local repair shop (over 12 years and 3 vehicles) inspected all systems, and the vehicle passed for PA state inspection and emissions. However, driving more, I noticed that the brakes would intermittently become "mushy" or "hard" and overall less responsive. I needed to use a lot of force to fully stop over a longer distance. There was also a hissing noise while braking and sometimes the cabin air fan would blast on suddenly. Then, while stopped at a red light and applying the brakes, the engine shut off and check engine light came on. My mechanic detected O2 sensor codes p2195/p2197 indicating "stuck lean. " but nothing about the brake booster, and so we cleaned it up a bit and tried to get more of an understanding of the issue. Now I know that the compromised engine vacuum from the booster air leak is impacting the fuel/air balance. Extremely unsafe. This has now happened many times while I try to get a good diagnosis and help. It's scary, and makes city driving very challenging. On multiple occasions I feared I would hit other vehicles or would have to "creep" at a light to alleviate the airflow issues from braking. If I have to be at a light for more than a moment, I will put the car in park and foot off the brake. I'd rather risk being honked at or hit, than have the engine dying on me in traffic. When I was able to get to a dealership, I was informed that it was the brake booster. The first thing I found when looking up that part for the 2013 Ford Edge was the recall. The dealership says my VIN was not covered, but it seems more than coincidence that this is the exact problem, now confirmed by the dealership. The part is faulty, and should be replaced by oem.
I have several different things going on. First of all my rear turn signals do not work, nor do my rear hazard lights. I've taken it to a mechanic who has extensively looked at this and has determined that it's the body control modular and is suggested replacement. I have been waiting for several months for this part to come in but he keeps telling me it's on back order. Also, my radiator fan/assembly went bad and had to be replaced. Upon the mechanic installing the new fan assembly, I had numerous fuses blown and that is when my blinker and hazard light issue started. This is a major safety concern as signaling the direction that you're turning is very important to other drivers. Additionally, it is against the law not to use signals. I'm constantly in fear that someone is going to rear in me because of my inability to signal when switching lanes and or turning. Additionally, my back up camera stopped working shows a black screen with a notice to contact the dealer. Another issue I have is that my door ajar light is illuminated all the time. I often feel unsafe and fear that the door may just come open at any time, I am unable to lock my doors with the internal lock , which means my doors are left unlocked while I'm in the vehicle. Also, the interior lights stay on for awhile when car turned off, thus putting more strain on the battery, which I've just replaced. Plus, the dome light will not go off until you accelerated to about 20 mph, however, when putting the car in reverse there's no way to get the lights to turn off in this causes visibility issues at night. That in conjunction with my backup camera not working makes it a very dangerous situation when going in reverse. I also detect the odor of gasoline which lingers in my vehicle for some time after getting fuel. I'm scared that there's a leak and if so the potential of a fire is very concerning. And I've noticed that my gas mileage is not really good and I'm not sure if that's related.
Faulty fuel pump, vehicle stops while driving and rolls backwards.

The problem began in early August 2025 when the check engine light came on and the vehicle misfired. A Ford mobile technician inspected it before 8/23/25, confirmed diagnostic code p0303 (cylinder 3 misfire), but said it was likely just a bad ignition coil. Based on that, I went to midas on 8/23/25 for a tune-up and coil check. On 9/29/25, the check engine light returned and for the first time the coolant over-temperature warning illuminated. Midas confirmed coolant intrusion into cylinder 3: borescope and pressure test showed leakage, leak-down test failed with air entering the coolant reservoir, and visible coolant loss was present. At 80,445 miles, the engine was deemed unsafe and required full replacement. Hawk Ford confirmed no warranty extensions or programs applied. The repair cost was $10,500 out of pocket. This defect matches Ford TSB 19-2172, is widely reported in ecoboost engines, and creates a serious safety risk since the vehicle misfires, overheats, and may stall while driving.
The check engine light is on and upon diagnostics it shows there is an issue with the evap purge valve. This cause the vehicle to have problems starting when refueled. Cost of the repair is around $1000 due to where the valve is.
I bought the vehicle and have had major mechanical issues with it I have replaced the motor and the full exhaust system I am having powertrain issues as well. I feel as though Ford she be held accountable for all of the issues the Ford Edges have being they all have the same issues this should not be legal. I got this vehicle to help me build my credit and now it's hurting my credit because I can't keep up with the car payments from all the major repairs that I have had to do on a 2020 vehicle. They will not even take my vehicle as a trade so I can get from under the vehicle responsibility this has not been a reliable vehicle at all.
I was driving to work on a busy street, started accelerating and the car completely shut down on me. I had to come to a complete stop on the main road during morning rush hour. Was close enough to idle into a parking lot. All my dashboard lights started flashing with an "engine coolant over temperature" alert. No throttle response. Had to have the vehicle towed to the Ford dealership where they determine that the coolant was leaking into the engine. Replaced the egr cooler ($2300). Drove off the lot and the vehicle was shuttering upon acceleration. A( a known issue with the Ford 2. 0 ecoboost engines but yet there is no recall) after diagnosing, Ford came back and said I need to replace the torque convertor ($3100). This is a 2019 vehicle with 84,277 miles on it. These issues should not be happening. Ford has done nothing but issue TSB's on them.
The car sputters while driving and jolts especially during take offs. When took it to dealership they said they tried everything there was nothing they could do to fix it. My best option was to get another car. I can’t afford another car. The problem is persistently getting worse. I’m afraid that it is going to just end up dying in the middle of the street. Car has less than 70,000 miles on it. I take great care of it. Was one of my favorite cars until a problem occurred with no way of fixing and no clue if it will cause an accident the original problem started out last year small and bearable but it’s been the last 2 days that it has just took a complete turn for the worse.
The engine was stuttering on 07/06/2025 the check engine light came on. Was able to get appointment with dealership on 07/09/2025 - they tested the 2019 Edge and had to replace the purge valve and line assembly. The vehicle only has 45,299 miles. The Edge has had recalls for this problem on other model years. Cost me $1,117. 77 I have never over filled or topped off my fuel tank. On 03/29/2024 the transmission had to be replaced under warranty.
Vehicle fails to utilize auto stop/start. Vehicle engine light comes on and off constantly. Vehicle hesistates, jerks forwards, sputters, and does not gain speed properly at any given time. Vehicle was looked at off an on for over 4 years by north brothers Ford of michigan. They said on mutiple occasions car is fine and all symptoms are normal even as 4 other cars were brought in and again they said this was all normal. All of this off and on from about year 1 of purchasing vehicle till now (7/30/2025) and problems are still on going. Transmission has been rebuilt, oil changes regular, tune up performed. Coils replaced on prior services due to issues noticede by maintenance team.
While driving through a small town +-500 miles from my home the 2016 Edge lost power with no warning. I barely got to a gas station for help. No fluid leaks, no smoke, no check engine light prior to fail. Was running great until it didn’t run anymore. Police checked on me and noted my back end was sticking out into the street a bit, couldn’t move it. Had it towed, got a hotel room due to how far away from home this happened. All local mechanics were booked 2+ weeks out but this one ran diagnostics sooner and suggested engine replacement. Had it towed to closest Ford dealer for 2nd opinion. They suggested same. I had serious (couldn’t start completely dead several times, no prior warnings) and not so serious (radio, seat, door) electrical problems earlier in ownership where Ford engineer came across state to recalibrate. I don’t have documentation on this but I think it took him like 4 hours at Ford seelye kalamazoo but it should be in vehicle history. With these two major exceptions (and no warnings) my Edge ran great. I feel we took great care of it, has zero rust, just over 81k miles and bought it new just over 8 years ago (as of this writing). Just replaced tires, rims, brakes within this year. Filled my gas tank full just before fail. We were told it would cost $2400 to tow it back home. Called Ford road assist for suggestions and relief and they stated that since it’s over 8 years and 80,000 miles they offer nothing. Bought it new on 6/30/17 and engine failed on 6/18/25 (just under 2 weeks of 8 years) and 1,336 miles over of any responsibility on Ford motor company. There should be a Ford customer service case number.
Car will not shift and shutters, this is putting myself and others at risk. The problem was confirmed by a dealership. There is now a check engine light in the vehicle.
While driving I came upon a red light. While sitting at the red light I noticed my car began to loose power and started shaking. My rpm dropped to almost 0. My car was loosing power while driving. No light has appeared on my dashboard, my gas tank said I had 98 miles till empty. I had two young kids in my vehicle. I anxiously started tapping the gas a little and made in into the nearest parking lot. This is unacceptable as I was in the middle of the road with children. I sat in my car with it on idle and nothing happened.
I'm am the original owner of my 2021 Edge st and have kept up with all my scheduled maintenance. Earlier this year, I had my transmission fluid replaced per the 40k maintenance schedule. Since then (and even a little prior to) I can feel the transmission, for lack of a better term, "jutting" and making a very slight "whine" when I've decelerated but then gone to reapply acceleration. It mainly seems to be a problem with second gear. I have also had the fuel neck replaced twice now under warranty. The first time was shortly after purchasing the vehicle, it kept tripping the gas pump at every station and I would have to manually trickle the gas in. Then again a year or two ago it started tripping again and they replaced it. I've also had various rattling noises that start out of no where and persist. My moon roof even came from the factory missing pieces that had to get installed only a month after I had the vehicle. The roof is starting to rattle again this year. I have identified that by rolling the sun shade open and closed and finding with the shade opened and rolled up, the rattling stops.

This has happened 2x where I am driving and there is loud noises coming from the fuel tank area and the car stalls. I am able to get it off the road. I turn the car off and it doesn't immediately restart. When I try and push in the fuel tank there is a lot of air that comes out.
The car felt hard idling after putting gas in it or it hesitates to start. The engine light came on after.
Fuel filter assembly problem. This is a lifetime warranty item on my 2019 for Edge which there is a problem with it bucking and jerking at low speed.
My car was having issues and still is having issues starting after refueling. After putting fuel in the vehicle my car stalls out. I restart the car I have to give it gas before hurrying up and putting it in drive just to keep the car on. Due to a potential internal leak in the canister purge valve this can cause excessive vacuum in the fuel tank and can potentially lead to a crack in the tank, which can lead to a fuel leak and or fire. The check engine light came on reading one code. And because I'm unable to afford to have it repaired because of how expensive it is, I now have three codes coming off the check engine light. I smell fuel when I turn my car off or I'm running I'm running low on gas. My vsa light has also been on during all of this as well. I would gladly bring the vehicle to anyone to get it completely diagnosed by any professional of your choice.
Constant gas smell . Was told there is a fuel tank leak. Also check engine light came on and the codes that came up is for supercharger/ turbo boost.

I have 2 issues. 1. Cil comes on randomly I was told by my local parts place it had a code for a fuel cyliniod thing that purges the air as I do not have a gas cap. 2. Just started 01/10/2025,.
There is an issue with starting the car after fueling up the car every time for past 6-8 months. Car appears to not be getting fuel and I have to keep pressing the accelerator pedal to try and start the car making it sound like I could potentially flood the engine. I was told this might have something to do with there being no gas cap on this model. It is unsafe as it sometimes causes the vehicle to not start or stall after starting when pulling away from the gas pump. This only happens when adding fuel to the vehicle, at no other time do I experience this malfunction. I have not taken it to a Ford dealer or service center yet due to not wanting to be blindsided by something else mysteriously being labeled as "wrong" or in need of repairs.
Put gas in car. The car stalls to crank.
When refueling and the engine is on the revolutions (rpm) go up and down and then engine will turn off by itself. It then takes 2 to 5 minutes to restart engine and then you have to raise the rpm’s until it’s drivable. During this process you can also smell fuel from gas tank area.
Safety complaint – 2019 Ford Edge transmission and engine shutdown issues to whom it may concern, I am submitting this complaint to report ongoing safety-related defects with my 2019 Ford Edge, which I purchased new. At 30,000 miles, the auto on/off stopped working and was not fixed. After approximately 50,000 miles, the vehicle began shutting off after refueling. At 68,000 miles, the transmission started shuddering during acceleration. There was no warning light, I just noticed that something was wrong. This behavior is extremely concerning, as it creates a risk of sudden loss of power while driving and could result in an accident. Ford is aware of these issues but has not issued a recall. I paid to have the torque converter replaced; however, the same transmission problem has returned. Ford has declined to provide further assistance. Additionally, the check engine light is now illuminated, which Ford attributes to a software issue. Despite multiple repair attempts and clear safety concerns, these problems remain unresolved. I respectfully request that the national highway traffic safety administration review this matter, as the defects appear to be systemic and pose a potential risk to drivers. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.
