Trunk Wiring Problems of Ford Edge

The contact rented a 2022 Ford Edge. The contact stated while moving items out of the trunk of the vehicle with the rear door elevated, the rear door inadvertently dropped and hit her on the face. The contact sustained laceration under her left eye. Additionally, the contact sustained headache, neck ache and emotional stress as the incident occurred while assisting her younger daughter to move to college. The contact sought medical assistance. The vehicle was returned to hertz rental company. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.

The contact owns a 2022 Ford Edge. The contact stated that the liftgate of the vehicle would inadvertently close on its own while loading or unloading the truck. The contact stated that the liftgate had closed on her back persistently on one occasion. The contact stated that she immediately reached out to the liftgate manual button and the liftgate elevated. There was no further information provided. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who informed the contact that they could not duplicate the failure. The vehicle was then taken to a second dealer, folsom lake Ford (12755 folsom blvd, folsom, CA 95630), who informed the contact that they could not duplicate the failure. The dealer also advised the contact that they could not make the liftgate only operable through the manual button as all the electrical wires systems of the liftgate were connected. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 1,181.

I bought a 2016 Edge titanium last year. The wrench engine light came on this week. When I took the Edge to the dealer, the first thing the dealership did was look into the engine compartment and explained that my wires and sensors were chewed by rabbits or mice. I learned the electrical wiring system is soy based. I asked if the dealer could replace the wires and sensors with non-soy products and was told Ford does not make a non-soy based wiring system. I live in colorado and we use our vehicles out side for camping, vacations, and driving. Animals apparently love soy. There are plenty of opportunities for animals to destroy wiring systems where I live. This cost me $1,050. This also happened to my brother who lives in missouri. He had a 2016 Ford fusion. It was parked in his driveway 4 weeks. He could not start his car and had it towed to his dealership. He was informed he had to have his electrical wiring and sensors replaced, which cost him $2,000. This never happened to me before, or my brother, and I have purchased Fords since the 1970s. I feel Ford should offer the option to replace these defective wiring systems with a non-soy product and reimburse us for this damage. When the dealership is done with the repair, I will be happy to provide the repair bill.

2007 Ford Edge sel factory stereo system electrical system shorted out and killed battery. Tried to start car and battery was dead tried to jump and was not able, put new battery on vehicle and the factory stereo system started smoking and my now deceased husband had to quickly pull put the stereo system and off the new battery. The eye to system shorted out and fried the battery burnt the wiring and started to catch fire when replaced battery. Now have new battery on vehicle and no factory stereo system just a hole to the engine compartment in the dash because of the defect of factory issues. Please help.
