Car would sit in the driveway and lights and other accessories would come on. While driving the radio and other accessories would go off. Trouble with lift gate not opening and not closing. Car would not start sometimes. By wiggling various fuses and curcuit breakers the problem would subside for a while. I ended up spending over $1200. 00 to replace the fuse block and wiring harness to fix the problem. I am living with my fingers crossed. I am a woman living on an extreamly limited income but I need my car. These problems were experienced while driving down the road, parked in my driveway, or any other time my car was in motion.
All lights on instrument cluster come on randomly, gauges go to zero. Will remain in this condition until car is shut off. At times car will not restart without banging on the dash. Car does not have to be in motion for this to happen but most frequently it is. A new ignition switch did not solve problem. A check on the internet seems to indicate this is a common problem with this model car. This is an ongoing problem.
Car would not start. Once started, power steering completely out. Had to drive home with no power steering. Once power steering came on a day later, air is not working.

I was making a left turn when I lost power steering, making it very difficult to make the turn, the abs light, advancetrac light and the advancetrac off light all started flashing. I arrived at my destination the car was parked for 1 1/2 hours, when I tried to leave the car would not start.
As I was exiting a highway, my car message center alerted me to safely come to a stop. As I was attempting to get into a parking lot, the car shut off. I restarted and was able to get into parking lot on electric, I guess. It was towed to utter Ford, in sherman, TX. They ran a diagnostic and told me it had to do with the fuel pump and the electrical. They kept it overnight and said they replaced the fuel pump. I picked it up on 12/3 around 2:30pm. I got 40 miles and the car went into fail/safe mode again. I was able to make it safely to a parking lot. After the engine was turned off and then back on, the accelerator stuck. Hitting the break did not help. The car had to be turned off to keep the engine from revving. It was towed to david mcdavid Lincoln in plano, texas. The service tech said that there was nothing registering on the diagnostic. On their second test drive, the car turned off while the driver was on the highway. They had to send a tow truck to get him. The car would not restart.
