I have a 2013 Ford Escape that has had to have a new transmission due to its sudden and unexpected and with no warning failure. 6000 at Ford dealership. Then the problems with coolant started. It would suddenly start overheating, and start stalling . Dropped down to two mile and hour till you limp off the road. Have to constantly check it. Will be fine and then suddenly start leaking again. Replaced coolant cap, coolant overflow tank, new hose for coolant tank, coolant hose that inserts into rear of engine, stand pipe and bypass valve.
2013 Ford Escape has been stalling out when at low rpms, for example, pulling out of a parking stall in reverse and then switching to drive, car will stall out. It sputters, then dies out. I switched out the high pressure fuel filter and also the low pressure sensor with oem parts and still happens. It doesn't happen often but I noticed that when I'm doing errands and having to turn on/off the vehicle several times in the day it will eventually start doing this. After switching those parts mentioned above now I have a problem with low mileage. The miles to empty gauge says like 400+ miles when it only actually gave me 190 for the whole tank! that's crazy! I have noticed that fuel gets consumed a lot ! can Ford figure this out? I checked my VIN but my car is not the ones affected but I know it is. Im worried about my safety and the safety of others on the road when driving this vehicle.
Car would have hesitation and stall while idle and check engine light would come on (p1450). Also had vibration from fuel tank and/or fuel cap. Ford dealer said has to due with evaporator purge valve. Said has seen this on lots of Escapes from 2013-2014. This needs to be a recall. My car stalled while driving on the highway with no symptoms beforehand.
I have a 2013 Ford Escape 2. 0 liter engine. It has been making a buzzing sound from the gas tank for months. Usually after I put gas into it, the vehicle stalls. Now the check engine light is on, the buzzing is worse and the car stalls while driving,. It stalls at any speed. The code is p1450 and everything I've looked at states the no gas cap system is faulty and causing issues. The issue now is a huge safety issue. These cars were recalled for this very issue and why Ford is not fixing this is frustration. The dealership is no help, they just want to start installing parts, etc. Every forum I've looked at says that the parts do not fix the issue. I'm beyond frustrated and scared to drive this car.
