1 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 01/12/2021

We have a 2013 Ford Escape and it dies/stalls out periodically. When this happens, there is no warning and typically it is after idling (at a stop light). My daughter was at a stop light after getting gas and once the light turned green, and she began to accelerate, the vehicle died and she had to coast across a 7 lane busy street to get out of traffic. This is not a new problem, it has happened on more than one occasion. We have taken it to the mechanic and it doesn't typically bring up a "code" on the machine they use. On one occasion, it did and we replaced the fuel pump ($600) which did not solve the problem. This is a huge safety concern!!! and after reading some additional information, there are a lot of people with the same problem! please do something!.

2 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 01/09/2021

Dangerous intermittent problem where vehicle stalls without warning while driving. This requires the driver to pull over, stop, put the vehicle in park and restart the engine. Frequently once it stalls, it is not safe to pull back out into traffic right away because it usually stalls again. I replaced the high pressure fuel pump, but the car continues to stalls at random while driving. No check engine light appears.

3 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 09/30/2020

Car will intermittently stall, generally after starting. Regardless of giving it gas (pedal to the floor), it stalls. I have had both the fuel pressure sensor and high pressure fuel pump replaced twice (each), and yet the problem still exists. Local mechanic had no idea what could be causing it.

4 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 11/27/2019

Vehicle repeatedly stalls after starting the vehicle and taking off. The vehicle will start and then I begin driving and it will shutter, lose acceleration ability, and stall out. Then I have to put the vehicle in park in the middle of the road or parking lot and restart. Sometimes it starts after a little delay just fine, and other times I had happened back to back two to three times. No warning lights remain. I also had coolant leak occur. Just got engine hoses, sensors, a new fuel pump in hopes of fixing the coolant leak and the stalling. Too soon to tell if the coolant problem is gone, but stalling is still occurring! feels extremely unsafe in a vehicle that randomly stalls out while driving.

5 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 09/19/2018

Tl the contact owns a 2013 Ford Escape. While the vehicle was stationary and while driving various speeds, it stalled without warning on more than one occasion. After the failures, the contact turned the vehicle off and it was unable to be restarted. The vehicle was towed to several independent mechanics. Coggin deland Ford-Lincoln (2655 north volusia avenue, orange city, florida 32763, (386) 490-4325) was made aware of the failures and replaced the low pressure fuel pump sensor. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and provided the contact with case numbers: cas-as15834530 and cas-1576. The failure mileage was approximately 77,000.

6 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 06/06/2018

Whilst driving on streets and highways, at least 1 month, me and my wife began noticing 2013 Ford Escape 1. 6 hesitate! and stall, several times on and off streets and highways. Pcm, module is sending incorrect signals, codes read, com needs reprogramming, also coolant system leaks!, may be causing over heating, and fire in engine compartment, water pump went out, Wednesday June 6th 2018, car is now at Ford dealership, for, investigation into recall work. That may have not been performed. Prior to sale to dealership where we purchased it. We would like any updated information about recall repairs performed by fleet?, company that sold it to super auto sales. , including calibration and over heat software to prevent over heating etc. , along with 13 other original recalls that should have already been performed, and some record who recall repairs were performed by etc. Also the driver and passenger seatback recliner mechanism has insufficient strength, becomes loose and leaning while I'm driving on streets and highways, this been since purchased under a year ago pre-owned 100,486 miles on odometer. Also constant smell of strong gas coming from engine compartment, low gas mileage, significant loose of engine coolant, etc. As mentioned prior in my compliant, full line and fuel pump may need service, because of strong gas fumes in and around vehicle. Thanks for your time. This happened over a period of a month till it broke down and we had it towed, we just found out about recall, and wad not told it was needed or had been performed by super auto sales in modesto CA. Dealership we purchased pre owned vehicle is super auto sales 4312 disk rd. Modesto CA. 95356 (209-689-5455),.

7 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 08/01/2017

I was sold the car with a defective fuel pump and never warned that it needed to be recalled, therefore, I have been driving it for over a year with the possibility of it starting on fire. Also, recently the power train went on my car almost exactly one month after the warranty was up. After researching this issue it has come to my attention that many other Ford Escape owners have experienced this exact issue. I was even told by one mechanic that this is a known issue with Ford Escapes amongst mechanics. When the car is in motion it "clunks" and does not shift properly. I am concerned for the safety of others who may be driving these cars without the knowledge that there is something wrong with it.

8 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 08/10/2016

The contact owns a 2013 Ford Escape. While driving approximately 55 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact coasted the vehicle to the side of the road, waited a few minutes, and was able to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the fuel pump failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired and the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. In addition, the front passenger door failed to remain locked. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign numbers: 14v237000 (air bags), 14v239000 (structure), 14v597000 (air bags, seat belts), and 16v643000 (latches/locks/linkages). The parts needed for the repairs were not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 138,000. Parts distribution disconnect and VIN tool confirms parts not available.

9 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 11/20/2014

The vehicle had been turned in to brown daub Ford in nazareth, PA where it was reported to have died twice on the road. They then reported it died on them twice also. They replaced the engine fuel pump as this is the ecoboost there are two pumps (one at fueltank one at engine) and returned the car. It drove for 30 minutes and died again in an intersection where it almost caused a serious accident. The dealership wrote up the complaint as car wants to stall which is not what was said. They were told it died and was dangerous, they returned it with the same mileage as they took it in so it was not test driven. This is a very dangerous problem and will cause a death. The none turbo engine has a recall for wireharness splices not done properly and that is what this sounds like. Please look into this.
