Any time I get gas the car does not start immediately. While driving the car and decelerating it shut off on me. Initially was told it was my remote start until I got gas and the car wouldn't start. While stopped at a light it shut off and took a minute to start back up. While stuck in the middle of an intersection the car began to make a loud noise coming from the gas tank and completely shut off and would not restart.
Notice other Escapes had the same issue as mine when I started googling symptoms my car was having. I heard a humming noise coming from the fuel tank the actual capless intake cover rattles very loudly and continuously until the vehicle is turned off. When gas would get pumped into the car it wouldn't start right away and when it does it idles hard and runs rough along with black smoke coming out of the pipes with an old dead like gas smell. . . . I researched and decided to have a diagnosis done which told me it was the canister purge valve I watched videos where the narrator would have the issue solved but even after I got that worked on the vehicle continued to make the humming noise also continued to drive rough. . . There has been only one situation where my car actually stalled while in drive and in motion. Literally I was turning a corner using my brake after completing the turn I pressed the gas to continue driving and all lights on my dash came on and the vehicle came to a complete stop. It started right back up but I didn't understand what made it cut off. . .
My 2013 Ford Escape has been occasionally idling funny when I start it sometimes or when I am at a stop light for some time and begin to go. It will start to putter like it is going to stall and even has stalled a time or two. It seems as if there isn't any fuel getting to the engine but the entire tank is full of gas. The car will putter and be reluctant to accelerate until it starts to go back to normal or stalls out. Once I restart the car and give it gas, it sounds and works normal. This has happened about 3 times now in the last month. There is only $125,000 miles on the car. This should not be a wear and tear issue as I always keep my gas tank no less than a quarter tank. No lights are appearing when this happens. The car just doesn't idle correctly and sounds like it is not getting enough gas or is running out of gas.
When driving vehicle, the distance to "e" gas hands continue to count down while at stop light. Also, from my house to my job which is approximately 17 miles, according to the gas mileage, it shows that I traveled 30+ miles. My gas hand goes from 3/4 tank to less than half of a tank of gas and it constantly losing fuel while driving or sitting mobil. When sitting at a stop light, the distance to e gas hand continues to countdown. I've watched my distance to "e' hand go from 242 miles to 'e' from my home to 188 miles to 'e' today may 15, 2019this has been happening since February 2019 but has since gotten worse. I've had the vehicle place on a machine to be told that it is not giving any codes. A tank of gas usually last me for about a week but now since this has been happening, a full tank of gas only last me 2 maybe 3 days.
Tl the contact owns a 2013 Ford Escape. The contact stated that the check engine indicator was illuminated. Also, after the contact filled up the fuel tank, it took four attempts for the vehicle to restart. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who stated that the entire solenoid evaporation system needed to be replaced. The repairs were being completed with manufacturer approved parts. The manufacturer stated that there was no recall and referred the contact to NHTSA to file a complaint. The dealer had not been contacted. The failure mileage was 77,000.
I have been having trouble with stalling or the car shutting off while driving at low speed of most often, if I have been sitting at a red light, or stop sign and I try to accelerate, the car will stall and lose power and I will have to start it all over again. I have usually been on a city street or even after turning into or getting out of my driveway, which is on an incline. I used to think this was related to low fuel, but it recently happened when the tank was full. This is really dangerous as I have stalled in traffic before.
My Escape sel 1. 6l 6 months ago after getting a full tank of gas my car started and then started to shake and stopped. Car would not restart for 10 mins and only if I press the gas pedal to the flood. Call dealership and they said they had not heard of a problem and let them know if it occurred again. My car is stalling making a noise, shaking and then no power just dies. I am scared for my safety. It does it now while I am driving. I have found where there is a recall for the same year built and type car for this issue. Just not for the 1. 6 engine but the 2. 0 engine. I have had the car checked at to car places and they can not find the issue. . . . This car is not safe please help!!!! please look at the nva-215sm 15v-813 agian this happens while I am driving down the road at 45 miles an hour or pulling our from a stop!! I have looked on line an there are at least 40 other complaints about the 2013 Escape 1. 6l stalling while being driven! this is a safety issue!! and clearly the same issue as listed above on the 2013 Escape 2. 0 engine they were made at the same plant in louisville, same year etc. . . I am concerned I will be hit or my car. I can not let me teenager drive this car!!!! help help help.
My car caught on fire November 12th 2017. One day after york Ford repaired car that I picked up on November 11th 2017. York Ford said it was on warranty ,never mentioned a recall, car kept stalling, york had it twice for repairs, it caught on fire when I was driving the very next day. Later found out Ford had 139,000 recalls on 2013 Escapes for fuel lines and potential engine fires. I do have photos and a video because after I called 911 I had my phone out. Mass state police and revere fire dept. Responded mapfre insurance CO. Declared it a total loss. . Donna from york Ford told me to fill the tank up because they put a cleaner in the fuel. ??? please email me so I can send you the photos and provide any other documentation.
Since purchasing this Ford Escape sel 1. 6l, I've had repeated issues with coolant loss. Every time I've flagged it to the dealer, they brush me off and have filled up the coolant, saying they can't source the issue. I've been concerned that I've had a cracked cylinder head ever since the 13s12 recall in 2014. In recent years, the coolant loss issue had accelerated dramatically. It is unpredictable. And when it happens, the coolant will suddenly go from an ok level to substantially below minimum. Furthermore, the engine has a persistent burning smell over the past couple of years. I've had to drive around with a jug of coolant and a plastic solo cup to refill the coolant tank whenever the low coolant light lights up. Over the past 2 years, I've had to refill the coolant at least a dozen times. Overall, I am concerned this was a fundamental flaw from the very beginning, and instead of doing the proper thing and rebuilding/replacing engines back in 2014 when the 13s12 recall occurred, Ford put a band-aid over it and now the issues are re-arising just when so all the vehicles have had their warranties lapse. I do hope the NHTSA forces Ford to do the right thing here.
Was taking our 3 year old granddaughter to get ice cream while driving smell gas had over a quarter tank of gas drove about 2miles gas needle planned to empty stop vehicle at the next gas station which was about 5 miles away lifted the hood engine was smoking gas pouring on engine grabbed granddaughter out of vehicle call local dealer had them tow in the vehicle was about 7:30 next morning Ford dealer called and said were in a dangerous situation that the gas ling from the tank to the motor exploded . . . Now we are very upset and really scared to drive the vehicle which they fixed with a new gas line. . . Haven't picked the vehicle up yet.
No matter how much gas is in the tank there is a chance of the engine stalling. This stalling occurs at random. In traffic this is a very dangerous problem. So far we have had 3 close calls after stalling. My car engine has stalled a total of 8 times within the last year and a half. 65k miles and has not had any other gas line problems. This needs to be a recall and Ford needs to take responsibility before someone dies from the car stalling while in traffic. The car would stall while in motion in a street. The car would stall after start. The car will stall on a highway. The car would stall while turning.
Traveling at 45 mph stopped to make a right turn and the engine stalled for around the 6th time in the last month. The car is hard starting after this happens. The is a loud noise coming from the gas tank. Been checked out by independent mechanic and cant duplicate because no check engine light comes on. Talks to Ford service and they say nothing unless it throws a code. Very worried that this will cause a major accident in the future.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford Escape. While driving 55 mph, the vehicle stalled and the battery warning sensor illuminated. In addition, the contact heard an abnormal sound coming from the fuel tank. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, but the failure could not be duplicated. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 75,000.
Fuel tank compressing, causing the vehicle to rough idle, surge or stall while driving with no warning. Has stalled on three different occasions. Unsafe to drive. Check engine light illuminates. Ford requires a $100 fee to check vehicle and stated customer would have to pay for repairs and then see if Ford will reimburse.
I pulled into the service station for fuel. The attendent placed the gas pump nozzle into my vehicles new style capless gas tank and began to fill the tank full of fuel. Once the tank reached the limit the nozzle shut off, when the attendent went to rmove the nozzle it would not release from the car. For over 2 hours my car was attached to the nozzle, untill the gas station owner came and had to use a screwdriver to pry it out. Good thing by law in NJ a attendant must be their when the station is open or I would have been stuck, their was no phone reception.
