When I fuel up my 2013 Ford Escape se it doesn’t want to start and the oil light and battery light flash on the display and to get the car to start I have to turn the key and keep pumping on the gas pedal then it eventually will start, but this happens every time I put gas in the vehicle. Called Ford and there isn’t a recall on this.
I purchased my 2013 Ford Escape vehical in febuary 2022 from a local transmission shop, so iv've had it for a good 7 months and its has been nothing but problem after problem with this vehical, the first issue I noticed was the brake fluid leak and I was having to coonstatly refil it until I was able to pay someone to repair it for me. Also my coolant is needing to be filled up about every 2 weeks, and I have to constantly check it just to be sure because sometimes the light wont even pop up. The most recent issue that im having is a huge fuel leak, it just started about 4 days ago and its spraying out of a metal fule line by the engine, after doing some research its a recall for the year and make of my vehical, I called Ford in to get information on what I could do and they bassicallly said they wouldnt repair it since my VIN number is not linked with that specific recal. I'm a single mother of a 2 year old and this is my only source of transportation, I do not have the funds to repair this and I do believe alot of the issues are recalls and should be fixed and covered by Ford.
On 06/21/2022 I took my 2013 Ford Escape to a Ford dealer because my check engine light was on. I was informed that a evap tube was needed and the part was ordered. A few weeks later I checked with the dealer and was told the part was on back order. 08/01 I checked again and was told that there were 3,000 people waiting for the part and there was no estimate on when it would arrive. Whenever I start the engine after getting gas the engine does not start right away. It takes several times to start. I am always worried that the engine will not start or there could be a fire.
Praise god no incident at this time. But I've had a Ford mechanic look at the codes my Escape is giving, has seen how it drives and told me the cvp is stuck. This is the exact same issue as for the fuel tank deformation recall Ford currently has out. Because I could not afford the repair I'm driving on a wing and a prayer. But now I see that my vehicle should be included in that recall and doing what I can to make that known and heard.
The vehicle stalled in the middle of the road on 5/24/2022. My husband was able to restart the vehicle and get it home and it stalled again in the driveway. There were no warning lights but the gas gauge was moving up and down. The car smelled of gasoline and there was smoke coming from the hood/ engine. We had it towed and the repair center told us that the gas line had split and was leaking gas. I called Ford and they confirmed my vehicle was not apart of the gas line recall but I would like to report it to see if I can get it on the recall list to get it repared.
Unknown.
The car bucks wildly at a stop and stalls.
The fuel wiring harness has exposed wires that are making the car miss and stall.
Smelling fuel & coolant leak took to Ford & had diagnostic test done they replaced hose's. . Picked back up drove 1day & started doing same thing saying low coolant pulled over and it was steaming bad . . Looked at overflow tank & it was almost full so I just left it in my driveway came out to look at it again and it was empty. . . . I don't understand why it's leaking coolant and why it's doing this if hose's have been replaced why it loosing coolant where is coolant going doesn't make any sense . . . . I seen where there was recall on 2013 model with coolant leak / freeze plug & fuel leak in lines??.
Fuel line started leaking at damper, personal mechanic pulled part and notified me that part was apart of recall. Damper part #: 120620a. 610732. Are all of the numbers on the damper. I git the part replaced at the personal cost of $180. 04 on 08/02/2021.
I purchased the car on June 09/2021 after taking the car home I noticed a severe lack of power at times when acceleration is crucial in order to navigate safely, such as when approaching an expressway ramp after having been at the light that controls access at the nearby intersection. Traffic moves quickly after lights change, and when I went to blend in from the merge lane, the car was inresponsive, the accelerator hit a dead spot that sent the engine spinning into very high rpms suddenly. . 5000 rpms the car became an obstacle and other drivers had to swerve to avoid an accident. All in the car were startled and I was upset because of the near collision. The usual sluggish engine response suddenly became dangerous. This car has 2 codes in the computer unit which are identified by these codes. . P0299-00 and p26ac-00 they only show if vehicle is hooked to a scanner and no check engine light has been activated. My mechanic found them. The dealer refuses to admit theres any problem and Ford motor has no recall for this issue. This car is available for inspection upon request.
Fuel leak, with smell of gasoline filling the cabin. Leak was in the engine compartment. After car was towed I saw about 7-8 oz of gasoline pooled on my carport. Due to gas being flammable, I had the car towed in. Dealer says it needs a new fuel line for $505. Had someone lit a match, my house could have been set on fire. Also, since the leak was so strong, what if there was a short in any of the electronics? again, major risk of fire.
I just bought this vehicle less than 3 months ago, and now it’s stuttering when I start it. It also stalls while driving.
My car was in park with the engine on. I put my car in drive and put my foot on the gas pedal. The engine loses power and stalls. Red oil lamp sign come on. No system check message shows. I turned the car off and on again and the same thing happened.
Shuddering since it was bought as a used car now dangerous to drive ,hard to stop engine shakes and shudders in a frightening manner. Now so bad at idle in park, put transmission in drive and the car tries to take off and is difficult to hold back with the brakes.
The plastic fuel line under the hood to the fuel rail had a pinhole in it and was spraying fuel due to a wiring harness rubbing through it.
This seems to be an intermittent problem but the vehicle will stall with no warning on acceleration (in motion). The vehicle will start again and this can happen several times in a row. No check engine light visible when this happens. Ford service has no idea what is causing this as we have described this problem to them several times.
There is a slow antifreeze leak. Every two days, antifreeze has to be added but the leak is not visible. Also, upon starting the car, shifting into drive and attempting to accelerate; the car will get bogged down right before 20 miles per hour and then stop unexpectedly. It does not completely use power but it does stall. There has been no explanation found for this and it is a daily occurrence.
Gear selector indicator is stuck in sports mode. This is the second time it has happened.
Engine stall twice while driving with no warning, starts right back up, seems same symptoms as other recalls for same year Escapes.
Engine stalls at idle and when taking off from intersection has two engine codes p008b p0087 sometimes desert a lot and sometimes very little.
It seems my Ford is experiencing symptoms similar to safety recall 14s17, but Ford has not told me my car is affected my this recall. It's been 2 weeks and my car is still not fixed my the local mechanic.
Car cuts off when accelerating after a warm start (car has been driven with no problems, sits for about 20 minutes and then is restarted). Car starts easily, is driven out of a parking lot, brakes are applied before proceeding turning on main road, car engine cuts off. This is the scenario each time. Doesn't happen every time car is driven but it is a constant safety issue. Always have to make sure no traffic is coming wither way because car has to be placed in park to restart. Car shows no codes when placed on computer. Dealer says they have never heard of this recall or problem. Problem is intermittent so impossible to demonstrate to dealer. Online research indicates many people experiencing this problem with this engine but no solution available, just many suggestions. So resolution is unknown.
Vehicle stalling at different times. There is no codes when it happens and no set time. Don't feel safe driving this vehicle as we are seniors and don't want to get stranded some were! going back to my personal mechanic on 2/2/21 to see if they can fix the problem. I think Ford should foot the bill as this car is unsafe for our highways.
I purchased my 2013 Ford Escape in Dec 2020. I have only had it a little over a month. 3 weeks ago I noticed a humming noise coming from the rear of the car. As I was approaching a red light, slowing down to stop, without warning, the car stalled. I was able to pull over safely, put it in park and restart it. I had no other issues that day. Now it has become a daily occurrence. It all starts when I hear that humming noise and then I know that the car will stall on me when I slow down or stop. The check engine light came on once and my husband hooked it up to read the code p1450. I have not had it repaired yet. It is so scary, knowing that my car will stall on me in traffic! tonight, on my way home from work, I heard the humming noise again, while driving 65mph on the interstate and then I heard a very loud pop which sounded like it came from the passenger side floor board area. Luckily the car stayed on and did not stall on me until I exited the interstate and came to a stop. It stalled on me and wouldn't start up right away. Even though the a/c stopped working, the car made it home without any other issues tonight. My husband told me to check this website for recalls and I found almost 1200 complaints on the very same thing that I am experiencing! how can a huge company like Ford not see the issue and help us? I am scared to death to drive it! I have to get on the interstate to get to work. Ford. . . You need to do something because this is not ok! I haven't taken it to a shop yet but they will probably tell me the same thing that everyone else is getting told! NHTSA you have to do something! how can you see all these people with the same issues and not make Ford fix the issue?? it is not safe to drive this vehicle! my safety, along with others on the road that have to slam on their breaks to avoid hitting me when I stall out, is a huge safety concern!!! please help!.
I've been having problems with the coolant system and my vehicle has been shutting off while driving. There has been a severe leak near the engine and I don't know what other problems it may have caused. I almost had an accident riding into traffic with the car shutting off in the middle of driving.
I just came out of a state inspection a few months later the engine overheats and the car just shuts off. Now, if I had one Ford I would not pay attention to this, but I have more than one and the same thing has happened. Now, at times where there's a recall, but when they have other items that get fixed without a recall, we never hear about that. I know I'm not the only one. This has never happened on this car, but my Ford focus, and it happens after a car has been in for service lately during the virus worst for some reason. This is a danger and could kill someone on a freeway. As when the car stopped on a recall before. From the doors opening on the freeway to this mess. Ford needs to be investigated at a higher level. I do know my antifreeze has been water down as I found out today, ucz their orange fluid has been discontinued for over a year I was told.
Vehicle stalls and bucks at low idle or at a stop. Water pump, timing belt as well as vct solenoids and cam phasers replaced.
When idling the engine will stall. It will start right back up but sometimes will stall again when attempting to accelerate. Often there isok no power when attempting to accelerate. . I have had to put coolant in at least twice in 2 months. The vehicle overheats and forces me to pull over. None of the gages indicate overheat.
On my 2013 Ford Escape whenever I pour coolant in it automatically leaks. It has been smoking, overheating and dangerous. I need the car fixed. I scheduled an appointment with autonation Ford margate at 5401 w copans rd, margate, FL 33063 and when I got there they told me it would be a charge to diagnose. Ford should be aware of the issue and ready to fix it for the customer. There has already been a recall for this and need it fixed for free.
My 2013 Ford Escape 1. 6l stalls at low speeds. This occurs randomly when the car is moving at a slow speed. For example when approaching a stop sign on a city street. This has happened multiple times, too numerous to count.
While attempting to accelerate the vehicle stalls then shuts down . Then while just driving it does the same. This happens while actively driving the car .
I drive vehicle a little and if I stop then when I start car it will stall when I start driving and I have to crank it again and it will go a little and die again. I pulled into intersection and car died leaving me in sitting in the highway . I almost got hit by another car .
My SUV has suddenly loss acceleration when pulling out from a parking space, stop sign and out of a restaurant parking lot onto the highway. It will sputter like it's not getting gas and two times has completely cut off while still in drive. I have smashed the gas pedal to the floor to no avail nothing happened. The SUV didn't speed up nor start to even move fast. It would slowly jerk onto the road, and as I said twice has cut off another time it did finally get gas and go. I took it back to the dealership, but no codes showed up on the machine that anything was wrong with the SUV. There is definitely something wrong with it, besides me being nervous to pull out into traffic without getting hit because the SUV won't accelerate down the road. It has also cut off while sitting in my driveway idle. It does start to shimmer/shake like it's not idled high enough and then it just cuts off.
I have had my car for a few years now and bought used from a dealership scott Ford. My car had low miles and it was in my budget, plus good on gas and from what I was told farley safe. This car has given me so many problems since purchasing it and has left me out of hundreds of dollars. My latest issue is a huge one and I believe that there should be a recall on this car after doing my research as so many other people have sadly had to deal with the same issue. I pick my young children up from a carline at their school, and one day when I was there my car started to rev up slightly then it stalled on me completely. I was able to get it started the second time with slight hesitation on the engines part. Long story short my car stalled on me a total of 5 times. The third time I was able to drive away from car line and parked across 3 parking spaces as it stalled on me again. I popped my hood and my engine seemed to be extremely hot, then I sat there with my 2 young children, thankfully on a decently nice day outside for a half hour. I was able to start it again and went to leave to head home, and just as I was about to get into the turning lane it stalled right across on coming traffic. I had to roll my windo down and motion people to stop as I frantically tried to start my car again. After 2 tries I was able to start it and went into reverse and parked in the schools parking lot, since this incident my car has stalled a total of 11 times, and just again once this afternoon when I was leaving the grocery store reversing out of my parking spot. I feel this is extremely unfair because I am still like so many people making payments on this vehicle. I shouldn't have to worry about my children's safety and others because my vehicle is a pos. I am very upset by this I paid good money for this vehicle and all the dealership will do is charge me outrageously and not care.
