The driver added water to the coolant and drove to his destination. The contact stated the failure occurred on several occasions. The vehicle was not yet diagnosed nor repaired. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The contact was informed the vehicle had been repaired under NHTSA campaign number: 12v551000 (engine and engine cooling) by the previous owner in 2014. The failure mileage was approximately 91,000.

The contact owns a 2013 Ford Escape. The contact stated while depressing the acceleration pedal, the vehicle stalled. The check engine and battery warning lights illuminated after the vehicle shut-off. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the map air pressure sensor was faulty. Roughly a year ago Ford issued a notification for a update that helped keep coolant from intruding into the engine. A week ago my car began to stall, flash warning lights, and would barely get me off the road. Upon having my car towed to the dealer they informed me the engine had been damaged from coolant in the engine, the exact issue stated in the notification received a year before. Now the dealer states the short block may need replaced. Why has Ford not issued a recall for an issue that could turn deadly for someone else? this issue is very popular with this car.

I have only had this vehicle 2 days and it stalls on me. Slowing down coming to red light car stalls. Happened 3 times in 2 days. No lights on the dashboard or anything. I am deathly afraid to drive it now totally unsafe!.

There is a slow antifreeze leak. Every two days, antifreeze has to be added but the leak is not visible. Also, upon starting the car, shifting into drive and attempting to accelerate; the car will get bogged down right before 20 miles per hour and then stop unexpectedly. It does not completely use power but it does stall. There has been no explanation found for this and it is a daily occurrence.

Since the day we brought it home from the dealership it will randomly die or stall out when you put it in gear. Today it actually died while still in park. Car dash board electrical wiring has gone bad. Originally the information on screen was fading and after about a month no longer shows any information. Ford stated the entire panel would need to be replaced, involving re-reading engine mileage and programming keys again for $700. Did not get that fixed as it's not a necessity. Driver window motor failed without warning while driving with the windows up. Now the engine has been reading a turbo issue but it cannot be determined if it's the actual turbo boost or the waste gate. This lead to transmission skipping and ultimately stalling while driving on highway and then city roads and having to restart car several times to make it home and then towed the car to local mechanic shop who stated transmission needs to be replaced for $4500. Along with a fuel line issue that had already been repaired 2 years prior and again unable to confirm why the turbo sensor code is popping up. Car is used for typical daily driving with children and should not have these issues. There are recalls for this make/year but not on my specific VIN though they are similar issues. The cost to repair the vehicle is more than it is worth and I'm very unsatisfied with the longevity of it. I did get the recall for my doors done after one day driving and a back door opened on its own, come to find out they still need to replace the other doors.

When starting the vehicle, 70% of the time the vehicle stalls after 1 minute, sometimes on the road which is dangerous. Now it is stalling after it has been driven for awhile and I place it in park. It now stalls while idling. In all instances I can restart the car with no problems. . . Except if it stalls again, which is now approximately 50% of the time.

Vehicle stalling at different times. There is no codes when it happens and no set time. Don't feel safe driving this vehicle as we are seniors and don't want to get stranded some were! going back to my personal mechanic on 2/2/21 to see if they can fix the problem. I think Ford should foot the bill as this car is unsafe for our highways.

We have a 2013 Ford Escape and it dies/stalls out periodically. When this happens, there is no warning and typically it is after idling (at a stop light). My daughter was at a stop light after getting gas and once the light turned green, and she began to accelerate, the vehicle died and she had to coast across a 7 lane busy street to get out of traffic. This is not a new problem, it has happened on more than one occasion. We have taken it to the mechanic and it doesn't typically bring up a "code" on the machine they use. On one occasion, it did and we replaced the fuel pump ($600) which did not solve the problem. This is a huge safety concern!!! and after reading some additional information, there are a lot of people with the same problem! please do something!.

Car is stalling none stop.

The car has stalling issues. When I start it it chugs and stalls. I restart it and drive approximately 15 miles. Let the car sit a few minutes and get in to drive away and it stalls again. It also intermittently stalls while driving down the road. I also have a heating issue. I purchased the car Dec. 26. 2020 and it has been in the Ford service dept since Jan 4, 2021. Only the heat has been gbeing looked at. The stalling hasnt been looked into . Heat only works when accelerating.

My 2013 Ford Escape 1. 6l stalls at low speeds. This occurs randomly when the car is moving at a slow speed. For example when approaching a stop sign on a city street. This has happened multiple times, too numerous to count.

For the last 2 years our Escape will stall out while driving when the weather is cold but after the car has been in motion for more than 20 minutes, this has been terrifying with my child in the car we have almost been in several accidents due to the car just stalling out while driving in traffic, we have taken it to the dealer and other mechanics and nobody can figure it out we have repaired the turbo and catalytic converter among other various repairs that have cost us thousands of dollars and nothing has fixed this issue. This is a safety issue! I've almost been hit by a semi on the freeway because my car stalled out while driving it! it happened again today.

While attempting to accelerate the vehicle stalls then shuts down . Then while just driving it does the same. This happens while actively driving the car .

I drive vehicle a little and if I stop then when I start car it will stall when I start driving and I have to crank it again and it will go a little and die again. I pulled into intersection and car died leaving me in sitting in the highway . I almost got hit by another car .

It keeps stalling on me. When I back out of driveway it dies. At stop sign, ready to go and it dies. I've called Ford and they say it's not under warranty. I have had my car for a few years now and bought used from a dealership scott Ford. My car had low miles and it was in my budget, plus good on gas and from what I was told farley safe. This car has given me so many problems since purchasing it and has left me out of hundreds of dollars. My latest issue is a huge one and I believe that there should be a recall on this car after doing my research as so many other people have sadly had to deal with the same issue. I pick my young children up from a carline at their school, and one day when I was there my car started to rev up slightly then it stalled on me completely. I was able to get it started the second time with slight hesitation on the engines part. Long story short my car stalled on me a total of 5 times. The third time I was able to drive away from car line and parked across 3 parking spaces as it stalled on me again. I popped my hood and my engine seemed to be extremely hot, then I sat there with my 2 young children, thankfully on a decently nice day outside for a half hour. I was able to start it again and went to leave to head home, and just as I was about to get into the turning lane it stalled right across on coming traffic. I had to roll my windo down and motion people to stop as I frantically tried to start my car again. After 2 tries I was able to start it and went into reverse and parked in the schools parking lot, since this incident my car has stalled a total of 11 times, and just again once this afternoon when I was leaving the grocery store reversing out of my parking spot. I feel this is extremely unfair because I am still like so many people making payments on this vehicle. I shouldn't have to worry about my children's safety and others because my vehicle is a pos. I am very upset by this I paid good money for this vehicle and all the dealership will do is charge me outrageously and not care.

When taking off and or in the middle of driving car will stall out. I have hit my hit my head head on the window from the power stopping so quickly. I'm scared that one day this could cost me, and my children's life.

The car stalls on an occasional bases at a traffic light after sitting at the light for a bit. Taking the foot off the brake does not start the car up. I purchased a machine to detect codes and nothing came up.

The vehicle turns off with no warning while I am driving. I will be doing 45 miles per hour and the car will turn off. Turning into traffic it will stall too.

The engine light in my 2020 Ford Escape keeps coming on. I took it to adamson, now stiverson dealership, a part was installed on the second visit. Two days later, the engine light came on again. I waited one week until I could get an appointment to return to the dealership on October 22, 2020. After waiting all day, I called the dealership and was told they had not had a chance look at the vehicle. I returned to the dealership on October 23, 2020 to have the dealership determine the problem. The car has hard transitions in accelerations at times and the engine light is on signaling a problem that has not been repaired. I have a warranty on my car. I am paying my notes and warranty but the issue with my "new" car is not resolved.

Without warning, my vehicle has stalled while driving. Error message comes up saying engine fault service now. I've taken it in multiple times and they have a throttle stuck open code that shows and they clear it each time. Not 3 min after leaving the shop, it dies again. Very dangerous as I have been on major roads when this has happened. Everything stays running but I have zero gas pedal power. I coast into a safe place and turn it off and start it backup for it to happen all over again. Shop has run diagnostics on it several times with the same code coming up. If I'm crossing an intersection and another car is coming at me, I'd be hit without a doubt. It's instantaneous, no warning and very random. There is nothing in particular happening that I can attribute it to.

I have a 2005 Escape I bought for my 19year old daughter. The car keeps stalling out putting her at risk driving to and from work. We changed the gas filter and make sure the fluids are checked on a regular basis but it doesn't seem to have helped. The car keeps stalling out. She will be driving and it just cuts off. Doesn't matter what road she's on, city or highway it has done the same thing repeatedly.
