37 Car Stall problem of the 2013 Ford Escape

38 Car Stall problem of the 2013 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 08/03/2020

I have had many issues with my 2013 Ford Escape and it seems everything that keeps happening is a recall but for some reason never applies to my vehicle. My Ford stalled for the first time a few months ago. I was at an event that I made it to with no issues. It sat in the parking lot for about 45 minutes. When I tried to leave, it wouldn't turn on. I sat in the vehicle for about 10 minutes until it finally started and was able to drive away. Ever since this, it has been stalling every once in a while. Sometimes it will start and I can drive a few yards away before it stalls and I am forced to turn the key off and try again. It would do this a few times then I would be able to drive again. Another issue I've had is sometimes while I am driving, everything will shut off but the vehicle will keep driving. Everything meaning: air conditioning, all lights, radio, touch screen. . Anything that is on while I'm driving will shut off for around five minutes or so. I keep going without touching any of these things, then they will all turn back on, on their own. This happens very rarely. I have taken my Ford in to get these issues looked at. They told me these were recalls, printed the recall paperwork out, and told me to go to a dealership to get it fixed. When I took it in, I was told these issues were indeed recalls for 2013 Ford Escapes but "did not apply to my vehicle" and was sent away. Now, my Ford randomly started leaking gas last week after only just turning it on while sitting in my home driveway (didn't drive anywhere). I looked up "gas leaks in 2013 Ford Escape" and its a recall for 1. 6-liter engine, which is what I have but when I put the VIN in the recall website it says "0 unrepaired recalls". Why do I keep having the same exact problems that are described in recall details for 2013 Ford Escape but keep getting told its not for my 2013 Ford Escape?.

39 Car Stall problem of the 2013 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 08/02/2020

Our vehicle often experiences a rough idle or shudder at low speeds, sometimes resulting in a complete stall while in traffic. The cause can be traced via an obd code reader to the map sensor - which has been cleaned and replaced multiple times. This is evidence that the recall issued by Ford (14s17-s1) for faulty map/engine harness wiring and subsequent repair (not performed by an authorized Ford dealer - prior to our ownership) were not performed successfully and should be completed again by an authorized repair facility (a Ford dealer). This issue causes many safety concerns, as the vehicle can shut off while in gear and moving. Ford refuses to accept responsibility due to the fact that the recall has "already been performed" and was a one-time only solution. This is completely unacceptable and has resulted in a fear of driving the vehicle in certain situations, due to the proposed dangers.

40 Car Stall problem of the 2020 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 07/31/2020

Vehicle shifts very hard when normally driving and when auto start and stop feature functions. The transmission does not know what gear it wants to stay in, often times jerking very hard, which moves the entire car at a complete stop or tosses the driver in their seat when moving and shifting. The vehicle also stalled several times, loosing throttle and function, almost causing me to get t-boned by 2 separate cars in traffic. Overall, the vehicle has issues with transmission shifts, engine realizability, and general safety features as a whole. Someone can and will get seriously injured if this is not investigated and addressed. Vehicle has been taken into the dealer who can't fix the issue, despite it happening several times, and has insisted the customer drive the malfunctioning vehicle. Ford motor company was notified about the complaint and is processing a buy back on my personal vehicle. I just don't want others to get hurt.

42 Car Stall problem of the 2008 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 07/11/2020

There have been numerous times where my car would suddenly stall or freeze up when making turns or pressing the gas after coming to a complete stop. By stalling I mean taking a second or two to accelerate then jerking kinda hard once I hit the gas pedal. When the car would freeze up, the traction and check engine indicator flashes and the steering wheel is completely stuck in place and I'd have to restart the car to get it going again. It doesnt freeze or stall on the highway but it always happens on city streets.

45 Car Stall problem of the 2013 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 06/24/2020

Freeway driving and car stalled. Able to drive to close dealership with pedal to floor and getting about 8 mph. Replaced throttle body. Left dealership. Driving side streets 2 miles from dealership and same thing. 8 mph. Towed back to dealer. Said it might be wire harness $2000. They test drive though and no problem after moving wires around. So I took car and drove a few days but then after exiting highway about one mile it does it again. Towed back to dealer where I start it and get zero warnings. Drives ok. But leave it there. They think it's purge valve now. Glad I didn't replace wire harness. They say it isn't giving any codes not sure what to do. Scary to lose all acceleration on freeway!.

46 Car Stall problem of the 2013 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 06/07/2020

Vehicle periodically stalls without warning shortly after starting or driving the vehicle and it's inconsistent with when this occurs. The stalling typically occurs shortly after starting the engine and driving a very short distance (I. E. , <50 feet) and requires us to sit and try multiple times before it continues to drive without stalling. No englne light turns on and no notice for when this happens.

48 Car Stall problem of the 2013 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 05/22/2020

Starting in may of 2020 my Ford Escape started stalling while driving on the street as well as the expressway it hesitates it does not accelerate the moment you tap the accelerator the car starts to sputter and then completely stalls out and stops in the middle of wherever you are the street parking lot it doesn't matter it also has done this back-to-back multiple times occurring maybe four to six times in a row barely allowing me to make it from one destination to the other. The Escape also overheated replaced the coolant sensor replaced the fuel regulator and it still does the same exact thing. It just decreased the amount of times that it would do it in a row so now it does it to three times. It also stalls out and dies while it stoplights making left or right turn as you're approaching an intersection coming to a stop barely hitting the accelerator.

49 Car Stall problem of the 2008 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 05/22/2020

While driving the abs warning light comes on along with the check brakes took to a mechanic shop and was told it was the and module that was going out. They waited me a price of 2400 dollars to get a new module and 1200 to install. Took vehicle to the dealership and was told they could not find a problem. When I tried to drive it home the two lights came on and also the engine light. I called a weaker and had it dropped off at my house.

50 Car Stall problem of the 2013 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 05/18/2020

Frequently and usually right after I turn the car on, the abs light will come on, the traction control light will come on, and then my car will stall. I can usually crawl into a parking space/off the side of the road. Occasionally the hill start assist light will come on and occasionally the 4wd disabled light will come on. The abs and traction control have come on on the interstate and highways before, but they have only caused my car to stall (luckily) right after I turn it on and begin to move. The hill start assist will usually only come on if I come to a full stop while driving, whether I am on a hill or not. This happened once when we first got the car (4. 5 years ago). It did not happen again until about 6 months ago. It now has started happening very frequently at multiple times a day for the past 2 weeks or so.

51 Car Stall problem of the 2017 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 05/05/2020

Auto stop/start shuts down and turns car off completely at stop lights. I have to manually turn this feature off every time I start my car so that my car does not stall in intersections. When this error occurs I have to put my car in park and then restart my car and manually turn this feature off. This is dangerous and the dealership has no guidance for this other than costly repairs. This has been happening for over a year now.

52 Car Stall problem of the 2019 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 04/28/2020

Bought used Escape in April. Didn't drive much since I live in town. Took a hour drive from home. Engine started misfiring and car was jerking. Took to dealership. They had for two weeks. Said was solenoid in transmission and replaced it. Picked up, took home. Drove 3 days later, started doing same thing. Drove next day and car quite running 1 block from house. Tried to start but started missing and quit. Had car towed to dealership. They had for 2 weeks. Said cam shaft and crank shaft sensor were bad and replaced them. They test drove over 400 miles with no problems. Picked up and drove less then 5 mile and started misfiring again. Took back to dealership. They said it was alternator. They replaced and it took three weeks to get back. A couple of day later I drove 2 miles to gas station, filled up and got on interstate. By first exit(2-3 miles) it started missing again. Drove to second exit to get off interstate since I didn't trust. Top speed on interstate was 45 mph. Oil light started flashing as if car was stalling. Took back to dealership. They said they didn't know what was wrong. They have had for going on 4 weeks with no word on what they found. Car had 27,939 miles when we bought know has 30,030 miles. Had since April of 2020 and was been in shop 11 week.

65 Car Stall problem of the 2013 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 01/23/2020

For the past year my 2013 Ford Escape will lose power while driving and stall. I never know when it will happen. It has done this while driving at 5 mph and 70 mph, driving in all weather conditions, the fuel is full, 3/4, 1/2 or almost empty. My car loses all power to the gas pedal and stalls. Most times it will not start right away and sometimes when I shut the car off and wait 30 seconds it will start. Very scary to drive especially with 2 children in the car. Again I never know when it will happen but it happens at least 2 times a day.

66 Car Stall problem of the 2013 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 01/22/2020

The engine will shudder at random times and occasionally stall at highway speeds. Issue also will appear randomly after filling the tank. Sometimes venting the tank at the inlet will resolve the issue. According to firestone, this is a known issue for this vehicle. . . And as a driver, it is awfully unsafe. Ford has diagnosed it as having to do with a fuel pressure valve. This has happened repeatedly over the years we have owned this vehicle. Get this fixed!.

68 Car Stall problem of the 2013 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 01/13/2020

This is the tenth time that the coolant system lights come on and the the car stalls out and will only go approximately 5 miles per hour. This happened this time with a car behind me that almost crashed into me he had ti hit his breaks and go across a double line into oncoming traffic lanes to keep from hitting me, blessedly there was no oncoming traffic. I was driving the vehicle. Now it won"t stay charged even with a new battery. As soon as I turn the motor off the car is dead until I charge it again. It runs from point a to b but if you turn it off it is completely dead and the key wont work or anything.
