Engine Stall Problems of Ford Escape - part 1

My car was in park with the engine on. I put my car in drive and put my foot on the gas pedal. The engine loses power and stalls. Red oil lamp sign come on. No system check message shows. I turned the car off and on again and the same thing happened.

My 2013 Ford Escape just hit 100,000 miles. The car started stalling out when excelerating. I took it to the local Ford dealership, they could not find any codes when analyzing it. They replaced points & plugs. Dealership indicated they have never heard of the engine stalling; thank goodness it happened to the service when he test drove it. I came home and researched stalling 2013 Escapes, was surprised to see all the problems; not sure what sites Ford uses for research. When I went to pick the vehicle up after paying my $400 bill, I never made it out of the parking lot, it stalled out again. So the Escape is still sitting st the dealership.

Engine stall twice while driving with no warning, starts right back up, seems same symptoms as other recalls for same year Escapes.

Engine stalls at idle and when taking off from intersection has two engine codes p008b p0087 sometimes desert a lot and sometimes very little.

The engine stalls out when taking off after normal driving and in all temperatures. It will drive fine for a few days and then it will stall out 4 or 5 times in a single day and for multiple days. It has stalled out when leaving a parking lot into traffic, as well as when accelerating to get on the highway.

I found my Ford Escape hybrid 2008. Engine stalled while driving. It shot down and I have to pull over and restart the engine. I have research internet and found that same Ford Escape model from 2003- 2008 issue. However, when I run my VIN does not appear it has recall. Its suppose to have Ford recall 14s19.

Have experienced multiple (10-12) instances where engine stalls while driving. Most common situation is when slowing for a turn in city traffic. Cause is unknown. This creates a safety hazard because the brake pedal must be depressed to restart the engine, so I have to come to a complete stop in traffic.

When rolling trough a turn then pressing the gas peddle, at times there is no power, engine stalls but does not shut off. This has been happening since April and it is getting worse.

Engine keeps stalling after driving for awhile took it to Ford garage a few months ago they said they couldn't find anything. I knew something was wrong I have already replaced the transmission and based on results of new diagnostic test done by a friend and not Ford garage 2103 Ford Escape p0234 I may eventually be replacing another. This is very annoying because the Ford garage can't find the problem.

The engine kept stalling out at idle or just putting into gear. Mechanic diagnosed as gdi pump psi was dropping to 526. He replaced it. It is still stalling out when right after putting it in gear.

The engine stalls at intersections. I've noticed it's when the fuel is low (40 miles or fewer to empty).

Vehicle has had frequent "engine stalls," where there is hesitation and stumbling with the rpms moving from 1-6 sporadically. Frequent power loss with engine, and while driving on the nys thruway, almost caused an accident when vehicle engine light began to flash with major power loss. After this occurred, it was was found by the local Ford dealership to require an engine replacement. This vehicle is a 2013 Ford Escape and had 56,000 miles on it when this occurred.

Engine stalls when in low or idle when engine is warm. Does t every time I come back out to my vehicle after going somewhere.

When breaking with auto stop/start turned on, the engine will completely stall out and a notice will pop up on the information screen staying to put the car in park and manually start the car. I bought my car a week ago and this has already happened twice. It's very scary as it could happen anywhere. I did some research and there's a forum filled with others who have experienced this too, and yet, no recall to fix it. Upon beginning. To move forward (pulling into traffic) the engine will sometimes stall(cut off) . Other times it will begin to run very rough sometimes causing ithe engine to stall. Although this vehicle does not seem to be part of recall # 14s30 or #14s20 the conditions are very similar to these reports.

My car keeps stalling. It all started after one random drive of car sitting all night, all of a sudden my temperature gauge went skyrocketing and my car started smoking. And needed coolant which was fine just before all of that happen. After that it will just randomly stall, the oil pressure light will come on and then my battery light. My oil like on my dipstick is skyrocketing even after letting your car sit. Something needs to be done I drive to college everyday as well as taking my son to school everyday I cannot have a car where the engine catches on fire or I keep stalling out and then I'm 20 30 minutes late to class.

While driving on streets and highway, engine will stall out, complete shutoff, with no warning signs or lights. The computer is not storing any codes indicating faults. After a stall, can put the car back in park or neutral and restart. Most commonly occurs when transitioning from braking to acceleration.

The engine has stalled twice in the last few weeks while I was driving on the road. The first time is stalled it was in the middle of an intersection (I was able to coast to shoulder) and it would not start up right away. My mechanic replaced an 02 sensor, but within a week it stalled again, this time as I drove on a city street. This time it restarted after I pulled over.

Tl-the contact owns a 2012 Ford focus. The contact stated that their vehicle stalls often. When this happened the radio and rpms froze up. The engine stalled and the vehicle would not restart. The vehicle was towed to their local mechanic. The vehicle could not be repaired because of the specific Ford parts needed. 2017 Ford Escape titanium 2. 0 ecoboost the engine just stalls in the middle of traffic, waiting at light, driving in the parking lot. A message will come on the dash "auto startstop shift to p restart engine. " this has been happening more and more lately. Plenty of people out there are complaining of the same issue.

Engine stalls for no apparent reason. Vehicle was stationary at traffic light. Last time was Saturday 1/19/2019.

The car hesitate or the engine stall soon after starting, if you don't drive off immediately the car will shut off and has to be restarted. This happens on cold starts but mostly after the car has been running.

After driving approx. 1/2 mile on a very busy city street at morning rush hour, going approx 35 mph, I started coasting downhill. The engine is stalling when switching gears, and is causing a safety issue while driving. It has previously been in the repair shop and still is unable to switch gears without causing the car to stall, as if there is an issue with the transmission but the tests are not supporting that it is being caused by normal wear and tear. The car only has 48k miles.

Occasionally when leaving parking lots, my 2013 Ford Escape engine will cut out and stall causing you to have to turn off and restart the vehicle. Usually the vehicle will start right back up and operate completely fine after that, but occasionally it takes a little longer to start up. Once the vehicle is on the road or highway, it seems to be ok. This issue has only happened in parking lots or when pulling out of a stationery space and it does not happen every single time making the issue hard to recreate.

My 2006 Ford Escape was purchased in August of 2005. Four months later, November 2005, I was pulling into a parking slot in front of a restaurant, with my foot on the brake, when it surged ahead, went over a concrete block, took down two poles, and hit another vehicle. At the time I thought it was the brakes, but no one could find anything wrong with the brakes. People said I probably stepped on the accelerator, but I was convinced that I did not. I could not prove anything. July 22, 2018, twelve years later, it happened again. I was pulling into a parking slot in the back of my church parking lot. The engine revved up and the car surged forward, with my foot on the brake, and it happened so quickly, there was nothing I could do. I went over a concrete block and smashed into the sanctuary wall. I was injured and had problems for about a month and a half. I read an article on the internet from the NHTSA on torque news that the north carolina consumers council (nccc) says that these vehicles are equipped with an electronic throttle body system that could fail - causing the engine to either surge or stall. This is only under investigation now, no recall. I am sure this is what happened to my vehicle, but I cannot prove or do anything about it. I have been driving my Escape for 13 years and only had 50,000 miles on it, but I had it totaled. It could have been repaired, but I could not take the chance of it happening again. What if I had hurt someone or will someone have to die before they have a recall on the Escapes? it is too late for me to do anything about my 2006 Escape, but please do something about this problem before someone gets hurt or dies. I did purchase another Escape, a 2011. I hope nothing happens to this one. Please have a recall on these vehicles.

Engine stalls. - 1. 6 l. - I have taken this car to the bob tomes Ford dealership in mckinney, texas for this problem at least twice since I bought it new and they told me both times that there was nothing wrong and that the engine was operating per specifications. It is still stalling and really scares me when it does. In my opinion it is unsafe. I noticed your article about the 2013 Ford Escapes in the dallas morning news.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer galpin Ford prescott arizona 1000 sandretto dr, prescott, az 86305 who diagnosis the vehicle as a failed engine wiring harness. The vehicle was repaired. The failure occurred numerous times after repair. The contact referenced NHTSA recall campaign number 15v813000 (electrical system) as a possible solution however the VIN was not included. The manufacture was notified and informed the contact to call NHTSA. The failure mileage was 112,000. VIN not available. Hk.
