The contact owns a 2009 Ford Escape. The contact stated that while her husband was driving at an undisclosed speed, the brake pedal went to the floorboard while depressed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and initially diagnosed with brake master cylinder failure. The brake master cylinder was replaced; however, the failure recurred. The mechanic then diagnosed the vehicle with anti-lock brake system (abs) and hydraulic failure. The antilock brake system (abs) and hydraulic needed to be replaced however, parts were not available. The vehicle was not repaired and remained with the independent mechanic. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact to take the vehicle to a dealer. The contact related the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 16v733000 (service brakes, hydraulic, electronic stability control) however, neither the VIN nor the type of vehicle was included in the recall. The failure mileage was 49,900.

On October 19, 2020 my grandchildren and I where traveling back home from san diego, CA to georgia and as we where driving on hwy 20 in texas, I hit a bump the car became very difficult to steer. I slowly drove the car to kilgore, texas took the care to automotive super center 1505 us hwy 259 north business kilgore, TX 75663. Chandler gordy said he would check it out and call me. Chandler called me and gave me the report (see attached report). Chandler stated that to fix that unit it cost over $2,000. 00 it is very expensive I couldn't afford to have it done. I asked him what he could do so that we could get back home he said he would try and reset the sensor. Chandler reset it & we had to be careful because it might go out again and to be very careful. 10/23/2020 slowly drove homethe next day 10/26/2020 I took the car to my mechanic at cartech automotive he checked it out called me and said there was a recall on the car and to come get the car and take it to Ford so that they can fix it. I took the car to loganville Ford 3460 highway 78 loganville GA 30052 770-554-9994. I spoke with brian and upon his examination of the VIN# there was no recall on my car and that if I wanted the car checked out I would have to pay $235. 00 to have them check it. I then went and called Ford motor company customer relationship center 866-436-7332 and spoke with dana who stated that on August 4, 2014 the car was brought in and they reprogrammed the power-steering sensor/module it was reset not replaced. I told dana that this is a recall and the unit was to be replaced not reset & dana said that they have the best high tech programming systems. It was reset not replaced, dana said yes & that there is nothing else they could do for me. I then called 888-327-4236 and spoke with lavenia did my report. Ford is unwilling to replace the recall unit 14s05/NHTSA recall 14v-284.

Last night leaving from work, in the dark at 9;30pm, started car and started to pull off the shoulder onto the roadway, pressed onto gas pedal and car went slow then the abs sensor came on and a short distance later the traction control came on along with hill assist not available. I had this exact problem earlier this year, only the addition of the 4wd not being available and it was a bad abs sensor. I had it replaced and have had no problems until last night. Then this morning, I had to back up to go to work and the rear end stopped the car and had there not been enough room I would have been stuck. I was able to go forward the abs light came on, short distance later the traction control came and then when I went to park the no hill assist came on. Nothing visibliy wrong again. Appointment in the morning to have the codes read again.

"stop safely now". It did a couple times while driving and now it won't turn on at all.

There have been numerous times where my car would suddenly stall or freeze up when making turns or pressing the gas after coming to a complete stop. By stalling I mean taking a second or two to accelerate then jerking kinda hard once I hit the gas pedal. When the car would freeze up, the traction and check engine indicator flashes and the steering wheel is completely stuck in place and I'd have to restart the car to get it going again. It doesnt freeze or stall on the highway but it always happens on city streets.
While driving down highway at approximately 45mph a warning appeared "stop safely now" with a hazard sign. The vehicle suddenly and unexpectedly lost power and slowed to appx 5mph. Was unable to regain speed and accelerator did not respond. Approximately 30 seconds later an oncoming ambulance appeared over the hill in the opposite lane and proceeded past. Power still was not restored. Continued short distance until able to safely pull over to side of road. Unable to shut off vehicle. Arranged for vehicle to be towed to dealer friendly Ford poughkeepsie NY. Vehicle had recently been serviced due to complaint that backup camera intermittently failed and because there had been a service notice indicating a service update was needed as vehicle could suddenly lose power. Vehicle was serviced.
When I put the vehicle in 'park' on a flat surface, the e-brake turns on automatically, but when I park on a slight incline, this does not happen. Additionally, when stopped at lights, I noticed that the vehicle was no longer turning the engine off when at a complete stop. When I got home, I went through some of the screens and it told me that the auto start/stop was disabled due to being on a slope (but I was on a flat surface). Additionally, the windshield wiper fluid is not coming out of the lines, but the pump is working because I can hear it, possible clogged lines. Lastly, infotainment system is not working consistently with apple carplay sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt, usually random.
I'm scared to drive my car. Sometimes the wheel locks when I'm driving , also the wheel shakes like I'm on a rollercoaster . I can't drive over 20 mph because the wheel starts to shake even more.
1. Hands free tailgate/trunk will automatically shut when objects or a persons body is present. Faub/ keys are not being pushed by accident, nor is there any movement under number that would sensor door to close. When it does do this, it takes quite a while for the sensor to realize there is an object there and takes some time to open again. 2. When vehicle slips on ice patces or large puddles of water--- when the traction light comes on my dash board, it seems to trigger my entire vehicle to shut completely down. Vehicle engine shuts off, steering wheel locks up, brakes stop working and no electrical from that point on. I have had this happen 3 times now, with the need to have to call a tow. For both complaints, Ford service says they cannot find anything wrong and cannot get either complaint to duplicate. Nothing has been done at this point by Ford to fix or compensate for any of this.

Today after 10 minutes of successful, normal suburban driving, and a stop for lunch, my abs, traction control, hill start assist, and auto 4wd systems all threw warnings of malfunction. The warnings appeared after having been waiting in a drive-through line for about 20 minutes, and power off in the vehicle for about 30 minutes thereafter. Audible and physical indications of problem were thumping noise in right-rear wheel, and difficulty in making forward motion at low speed in a zero-slope parking lot. Visual check found no problems with tire inflation or obstacles in straight path of travel. Manual check of lug-nuts by hand without tools found none loose. After conferring with a local shop I trust, I was able to travel 1/2 mile without incident to their location. Audible and physical indications were present at the beginning of the trip, but all cleared after I got underway. Warnings on dash remained present. Shop was able to reproduce indications, but could not find any cause during detailed visual inspection of chassis and brake systems. I have scheduled an electrical diagnostic on the systems for next week, to attempt to find the cause of this set of conditions. Shop thinks a faulty abs sensor, tone plate, or wiring may be the cause, which makes the brakes engage intermittently without input from the driver.
The bushing that attaches the transmission shifter cable detached from the transmission.
To whom may concern: I have taken my vehicle in for the recall 16v643000_recall 16s30. Door latches may break in result preventing the doors from securely closed when, in fact, it is not. As a matter fact, while the vehicle is motion all of the rear doors open up. I had to tie it up with rope as I taking into the dealership. Vehicle VIN:1fmcu0g93fua8042815551 Ford of kendall s dixie hwy, palmetto bay, FL 33157 now the dealership is saying that I need a case number in order to fix the matter at hand. I also concern about other recalls for this vehicle listed below: 15v436000_recall 15c06-ignition switch (keys/button) 15v406000_recall 15c03-blank display on my instrument panel 17v472000_recall 17s17-imporperly manufactured bolts for seat belts/ buckles or seatbelt anchors could have been used. After stopping at a stop sign the auto restart kicked in. Normally it start fine after I let go of the brake, but this time it stalled completly and lost all power. I could not turn on the blinkers. I was trying to move it out of the way but I could not even change gear to neutral and it had o power steering. We call roadside assistance but when I open the hood to check for the battery all of a sudden the power came back. I don't think it was a battery problem because I just replace my battery 2 weeks ago. The whole process took about 30 minutes before the power came back. This is the second time it does that first time it just stalled but did not lose any power. This is pretty scary stuff if it happens in the middle of the highway with no power steering especially with a family.
Over the past year (purchased vehicle 4/30/2019), I've experienced stalling at different instances. The vehicle has stalled while waiting at a traffic light. It has stalled while driving 65 mph on the highway. In the past year, I've taking the vehicle to the Ford dealer for repair on 2 occasions because of this. The first time I took it in 2019, they said that they couldn't find anything wrong. During this period, the engine light wasn't on. However, the last time I took it in, the engine light was on. The service department at Fords informed me that I needed the co2 sensor replaced. I paid them $500 to replace the sensor. The vehicle stalled again on my way home from Fords. I called them as soon as got home to inform them that the vehicle stalled again. Again, I will be taking it back to them on 4/27. I also found out that the vehicle was recalled in 2017 of August, recall # 17c11 (air bag issue). According to the history of the vehicle, this has never been addressed/repaired/replaced.

The car will turn off when stopped (ex. At a light) and a message comes up saying "auto startstop shift to p restart engine". I do this and it restarts without issue. This has only happened a few times and at various times. Ex. Once in morning cold weather, once in afternoon in mild/warm weather. I bought car new and this has only started happening now (3 years after car was bought).
Engine randomly shuts off while in motion. Ford surprisingly cant reproduce the problem. It's very dangerous and most of the time leaves us stranded in the middle of the road. A couple times it has left us in the middle of busy intersections. Only 87k miles.
Car cuts off/looses power also have to constantly put engine coolant in and change transmission fluid engine will run hot, electrical system issues doors unlock, can not drive over 35mph, fuel system putting gas in car will not start automatically have to pump gas pedal causing unsafe travel.
I own a 2008 Ford Escape that has recently been diagnosed with a known recalled issue with the torque sensor. Error code b2278. It has caused the electric power steering assist to turn off. My vehicle currently has no power steering due to this issue that has already been recalled. My vehicle falls under the model and year that Ford recalled the part on, however the Ford motor company is claiming they have no responsibility in the repair or replacement of the part. Luckily I was at a slow speed when the power steering went out and did not cause an accident.
Recalled other models identical to mine for the exact issue I am having with the airbag clock spring; however, did not recall mine for some reason. Car has 99. 7k miles I am absolutely furious nothing has been done about this issue for select cars while others have been corrected. The dealership my car was taken to was too incompetent to repair the issue. (cactus jacks).
The coolant light come on but not running hot I just bought the 1\15\2020.

I brought this 2013 Ford Escape truck in August 21st 2018 it had 77095 miles when it was under warranty still after we brought the truck the engine light came on in the beginning of September 3, 2018 I went up there to don davis Nissan when this truck was still under warranty and told don davis Nissan that the engine light on there was on they told me that I had to pay for it out of my pocket and I told them why should me and my day pay for something and the truck was under the warranty still they refuse to fix it I being calling them numerous of times from September 3, 2018 and 2019 about this truck and it was still under warranty at that time so around October 28, 2019 I was leaving from the library doing my homework and I have not eaten anything that day so I went to get me something to before I went home as I was driving I heard the belt broken off as I was driving I was almost in a accident when the cars were driving down the street so I pull over on a street I didn't have enough money for a tow truck so I slept in my truck which was October 27, 2019 until the next day which was October 28 2019 a good samaritan help push my truck to don davis Dodge so the people at don davis Dodge told me it was about 450 to fix my truck which means that I had to use my truck note money to get that fix so around in November I brought a sensor that goes on their which was causing my truck to leak oil which they didn't not replace the first time when I brought this truck in August 20, 2018 when I told them about this problem the first time and they refuse to fix it so I brought the sensor last month and put it on their so this year of January 7th 2020 I am on my way home and I hear the same response of the belt broken off again after I replaced the belt and the sensor now it is leaking oil again and I been complaining to don davis Nissan numerous of times about this truck.
Within a month of purchasing vehicle, mileage 67,000, complete brake system failure. Could have been fatal and will be if not corrected. Many exact complaints found online. Vehicle failed to stop coming to light. Had to pull off the side of the road into a wooded area for the vehicle to stop. Felt like vehicle was sliding on road. Later realized it was a abs system failure not sliding. Abs light is on. Brake system needs service light on. Emergency brake light stays on. Approximately 75% of the time, when first driving vehicle, only the service brake display is on. The vehicle will begin to buck/stutter, steering wheel shakes, and traction control warning light illuminates. After accelerating, that stops and returns to what I described. Above. I read since there were no fatalities reported Ford will not recall. I am certain there have been fatalities due to this problem, just not identified.

At 76,851 miles my transmission failed and according to Ford metal pieces found was found in the fluid I was on my way home when my vehicle just stopped in the middle of on going traffic I've only have it for two years and take very good care of it but was never told that any transmission issues were detected before that the bypass coolant valved code would appear even though I have repair it twice this year .
My wife and I were driving home from work when just before I got on the freeway at a stop light my steering wheel began to vibrate and then I lost all power assist with the vehicle thankfully we hadnt entered the traffic. The power assist is now off and on.
When I am at a stop light. The car will turn off, it is very dangerous. I have to restart the car. I almost have been in many accidents. I don't understand why there hasn't been a recall for this car. I see online that everyone is having this prroblem.
Car has been stalling out out of nowhere with a full tank of gas. Usually it will start to putter and then it loses power and completely stalls. I have to put it in park and restart the car. This happened to me while pulling onto a busy state route hwy out of my parents driveway, almost causing my 5 year old son and I to be hit by cars coming down the highway at 60 mph. Luckily I was able to roll into the driveway nextdoor before the cars could hit me. There is only 125,000 miles on my car. The Ford mechanic said this is a known issue and has to do with the electrical system and sensors. This is very dangerous and I couldn't be more upset.
While driving fault engine service now light keeps coming on tool it to the dealership and they said it was a p1450 purge valve that needed to be replaced did that and the light keeps coming on and while driving it loses acceleration as if it wants to cut off and the car keeps cutting off when starting the car this has been an ongoing issue for 2 or more months.
Today is 10/1/2019. I dropped my kids off at school came home and my neighbor son had missed the bus. I was on my way to take him to school when after I started my car my steering wheel wouldn't turn. First I thought I had done something wrong so I parked it and tried to reverse and turn the wheel again same thing happened. My electric steering wheel has gone out or is no longer working there was a recall before I got the vehicle 14s05 but with previous owner. I went to 3 different places saying the same thing how can a recall that claims to be fixed not be fixed thank god my truck was parked already so now they are saying it could cost 800-1800 and I have to take it to a Ford place so disappointed. I purchase the truck in 2017 so approximately 2 years later and this happens.
The car keep giving me a message that is overheating, then the ac start blowing hot air but the car is not hot. Within 3 minutes the messaging away the ac start working like nothing happened. Also the transmission seems not to change at all when this is happening to the car.
Tl- the contact owns a 2015 Ford Escape. The contact stated that the instrument panel does not illuminate. The vehicle was taken to four seasons Ford 601 duncan hill rd, hendersonville, nc 28792 (828) 693-4281 where the contact was informed that a diagnostic test would have to be done in order to know the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 65,000. Dr.
My check engine light came on and I received an error reading stating my engine coolant is low. I checked coolant and it is full. My car started to stall while I was driving it. I looked up info on this website which mimicked my issues exactly. The Ford recall campaign number is 12s41. I called Ford motor compay customer relationship center and asked them about my car and explained the problems and how they mimicked the recall listed above. They said my car was not included in that. I informed them that it was a 2013 Escape which shows to fall under it and they told me that my car probably didn't get made with the same parts and may have been made at a different time. I will now have to pay out of pocket and I have a hard time doing that since obviously the symptoms mimic the recall. My vehicle is in motion when it stalls out and tells me my system is overheating and to pull over. It is a random thing. It can happen when just started or when I'm driving down the road.
My electric power assist system stopped working and was unable to turn the wheel to drive - I only have 70,000 miles on my Ford Escape - I was parking my car when the light went off then when I got back in the car I was unable to steer the vehicle. I tried calling Ford and they were unable to help .
