All the warning lights have been persistently coming on since Aug. 2019. The speedometer stops working, all the warning lights come on, while driving, I have no clue how fast I'm going??? I can no longer start the car without having to push the thob's security lock buttons to lock/unlock for it to start. I took it to my auto mechanic at sam's auto in waterford, who thought he fixed it no problem, but I drove it off his lot, and its still doing it. That was after several attempts until now. Sam and terry think I could be in danger. I spoke to my insurance agent who said I needed to contact you about the recalls on the SUV. It's scary, and I've only had this car since 2018 when I bought it. In fact, I am copying this report to my files 12/08/2019, and to send to my insurance company. I don't feel safe in my car, and would like it repaired, so that I can trade it in, or just get rid of it. Thank you, I did call you earlier this year about this car. I had been told for sometime by my friends to contact you about this vehicle because of the many recalls. Tammy m. Thompson 248-296-0483 thomp4040@gmail. Com.

I was driving my family from houston, TX to san antonio,TX on July 5th 2019 for the holiday weekend in my 2013 Ford Escape sel with the 6f35 transmission. We were about 1 hour & 30 minutes into our trip, 108 miles, from our home near the city of flatonia, TX when our transmission horrifically failed. While I was driving I noticed the transmission had a made a hard shift into 6th gear. It had jumped a couple of times until I accelerated and then it finally shifted into 6th gear. The next sign of trouble was when the dash screen told us the lane change sensor was failing. Next we started noticing a faint burning smell coming into the cabin, we weren't sure what it was. A minute later all the warning lights turned on in the dash screen. I immediately put on my turn signal so I could get to an exit and when trying to accelerate out of the way of traffic, I realized my Ford Escape was not responding to the acceleration pedal. It would not accelerate at all. So now I couldn't shift and my gas pedal was not functioning. I finally reached the nearest exit turned on my hazard lights and proceeded to coast into the nearest gas station since my gas pedal was not functioning. As soon as I stopped & turned off my SUV, white smoke was coming from the engine bay. I quickly got my wife and 1 yr old daughter out of the SUV and ran away from the vehicle. Thankfully the smoke stopped and I opened the hood and saw transmission oil all over the top of the transmission. It was so hot it was boiling in the crevices where it had settled. This transmission is supposed to have "a special blend of transmission fluid maintenance free for the life of the gearbox. " a couple days prior the transmission would jump erratically when shifting from 2-3 gear and from 5-6 gear even though it was an automatic transmission. But I had taken it to a Ford dealer and they didn't help at all.
My car constantly stalls. It stalled periodically but I thought well maybe it's was because of how hot it was outside. But that it's the case. I can be at a light stopped, driving down the street/expressway and it'll start to lose stutter and stall out with only the battery light and oil lamp light coming on. Sometimes itll start right back up others it has it sit and cool down. Even tho my engine isn't reading hot or anything along those lines. Everything reads fine. I've taken to multiple shops and finally just 5 days ago to a Ford dealer who had my car for almost 3 days and all he could say is it looks like I could possibly have a cracked water pump! they need to do something for us with the 1. 6 it seems to be the same exact thing going on with the 2. 0. Today when my car stalled my oil dipstick was smoking.
Informational display behind steering started flickering and now does not light up so I cannot see mileage or anything else thats going on with vehicle. I have attached a pic of what my display shld look like, however the middle display in my vehicle is black, nothing will display. The flickering started last month and now my display is completely black/blank.
Brake warning lights on no abs.

I was driving my 2015 Ford Escape going about 50mph when my steering wheel just froze. It took all of my strength to try to turn the wheel so I could get myself off the main road and out of everyone's way. I got myself to the side and couldn't turn the wheel at all. Luckily my family wasn't too far so my dad was gonna help me get my car home but he couldn't even turn the wheel. We had to call for a tow truck. Also my 2015 Ford Escape would stall after pumping gas, taking several attempts to start my car and at times not starting at all after filling my tank. It has stalled on me serversl times while driving on the main road leaving me stranded and holding up traffic on busy roads. Low tire pressure/ tire pressure sensor fault warning light appears often even though all tires are at correct pressures abs and traction control appears noisy cabin makes buzzing noises behind stereo even when car is off stereo malfunctions happen often where cds get stuck and stereo says no cd while trying to eject it.

The car's engine will cut off, lights and electricity will stay on, but the engine will cut out while driving. Acceleration is lost, and cannot start moving again until the car is put in park, turned off, and turned back on. This is while the car is in motion. This has happened at 30 mph and slower, as well as 55 mph. The car will give an engine fault or engine failure and begin jerking. This happens on the highway and city streets. The most recent time, the car began jerking after turning and could not stay on for longer than 10 seconds before shutting off. This has happened at least 6-10 times, and almost caused car accidents. Multiple parts have been replaced, and the issue still happens.

I have a transmission fault service soon error ! the car seems to think its in park while driven. It staules seems that it is slipping out of gears by its self.
When driving for as little as ten minutes and other times longer, my truck will lose power while driving and I will start to feel the truck slow up. Then when trying to accelerate I can only get up to 20 mph. Also if I take my foot off the gas, without putting my foot on the brake, it'll come to a halt. It does go over 2,500 rpm on a good day. I cant take off fast even if I wanted to. The only code that has come up when dealing with my issue is the catalyic converter. I have replaced my O2 sensors and got a new converter on but still having the same problem. I even replaced the throttle to see if that would help and it has not. No one has been able to help me figure out the issue. I have taken it to reputable shops and mechanic and spent a ton of money trying to resolve my issues. I am fearful for my safety and my son's safety not knowing when it will lose power. I cant even hold a job at the time being because of this issue with my truck.
While driving on highway 278 in PA, vehicle experienced loss of power to steering, I pulled the vehicle road side, turned off power , restarted the vehicle. Steering was still stiff could not move it freely. I have contacted nearest Ford dealer.
Car stalled several times while going about 10-15 mph and this is about the tenth time this has happened in several days.
At every fill up the car stalls. Now I have to hold the gaz to a certain level to avoid stalling after every fill up. If I ever let the pump to automatically fill the tank and stop itself I get in a lot of troubles for day. The idéale is bad and the car stalls now in stead of filling my tank to 12 or 13 gallons I have to stop the pump at 10 or 11 gallons to avoid the inconvenience of having car idling hard and even stalling.
While I was driving I heard a click and lost my power steering. It came back and then off again. I had to pull over and turn off my ignition. I waited a few minutes and re-started it, it again kept going back and forth between power and manual steering while driving at 35 mph down back roads to my home.
Fault lights come on and do not clear out consistently after an ignition cycle. Cruise control, blind spot warning, speedometer become non operational. Dealer has replace abs module, battery and negative battery cable with no improvement. At times during initial startup, power steering is lost. Also vehicle would not start on 3 occasions. Issue occurs while car is in motion both during city and highway driving.

Power steering assist fault. And also tire pressure sensor fault Escape 4wd v6 w/ ~172,xxx. Dash notification appeared on 02/09/19 but quickly went away. Power steering was fine, not one issue ever. Then on 02/11/19 on the way home, the dash alert showed "power steering assist fault" and it wouldn't go away and beeped multiple times. I parked it at home in driveway and went to move it into the street a little bit later and the power steering was nonexistent. Took full body weight to just get it to in front of the house. Lucky that I wasn't driving or delivering for my job like I usually am during the week. But to my luck, my VIN isn't under the recall even though my Escape was built in may 2009, well within the recall time period. I think highly of Ford and am very disappointed at their attempts to silence and curb customer issues. . . And this is a dangerous manufacturing issue! any Ford executive or higher up would have this done ASAP if something bad happened to their own family. We need to all stand up and file a class action lawsuit. They don't care about our safety or our financial wellbeing. Most can't afford these $1-2k fixes.
I was driving down the road and the car just died and did not start again and I cant figure out whats wrong with the car but even in the off engion switch still was trying to start its self so I had to remove the battery cables so it would stop trying to start and we cant figure out whats wrong with it still and we just spent 3500. 00 to get the transmission replaced and at this time we have no clue how to fix it .

Jan. 24, 2019 power steering assist light came on had no power steering. Contacted langlade Ford in antigo, WI took it there they told me I had to replace the epas complete system and it was done on Feb. 1, 2019 at cost of $1683. 41 as my 3 year warranty had expired. I wrote to Ford in dearborn, mi about it, and received a letter from them on Mar. 8, 2019 they stated "comments were received, documented and sent to their appropriate department". They need to have a recall on this as it is a safety issue and luckily I was able to drive it at all with no power steering I am fortunate it did not lock up on me. Thank you for letting me submit this, I know I am not the only one that's had this problem.

I am having problems with stalling. I have had the map sensor replaced, the purge valve system done twice and the fuel pump was replaced. This car was built in December 2014. I took it to holman Ford in turnersville NJ and they could not figure out why it is stalling. I feel it is the same issue that they had recalled 2. 0 ecoboost Escapes. Check engine light is on and I cannot drive it more then a few miles, then it doesn't start. I have looked online and I feel this is part of the recall14s17. . . Ssm47575. Holman Ford couldn't figure out what was wrong and said they were talking to the engineers. What a joke I had to pay for them to put on for the codes but it wasn't even correct. This stalling happens wherever I am driving within the first few miles of the day then I don't try to drive because it will stahl. This has been happening for the last year and hall.
02/03/2019 I purchased the car 12/31/2018. These things occurred in the vehicle when it was stationary, taking off and excelling, in motion, on a city street and on a highway (interstate), driving straight, turning, braking, and on inclines and down hill. It also involves fuel/propulsion, engine, speed control, suspension, wheels. It started with the dash lighting up with no key in it. Then it started a hard idle almost shutting down the vehicle. Since I had it in last week, there is rattling, popping, grinding sounds with grabbing and pulling under the back of the car. Now it is the traction and intelligence control all wheel warnings and shutting down the control on its own. It stalls in traffic while the computer attempts corrections that fail to correct it. It has slid from one side of an off ramp to the other side, because the traction/all wheel intelligence could not get traction. I could not control the car. Grateful there was no one in the other lane. It is putting my life and everyone around me in serious danger of being killed. I have mentioned some of the issues prior to the last service on it and taken it to (purchased from) jarrett gordon Ford winter haven, FL and (work done at) jarrett scott Ford plant city, FL. I am told they can't diagnosis it unless it is doing this with them. I will be taking it back in tomorrow with all the new issues going on with it. It is seriously dangerous and getting progressively worse. I've already had the oil changed, transmission fluid drained and refilled, fuel induction, injector serviced (it did not help with fuel consumption), tune-up, plugs changed (did not help), coolant flush. This needs to be addressed before I die or any others die as a result of this vehicles issues. These liability issues belong to Ford company, not me. All this since I purchased it 12/31/2018 proof of contacting 6 + members of the dealerships.
Starting in December when my car was at a stop light or stop sign, the auto stop/start told me to put my car in park and re-start the car. It has done this a few times after this. This could cause an accident like being rear-ended.
Power steering went out while driving with no warning so there was a recall on some but not all Escapes on a city street while I was turning at an intersection.
I was on my to work one morning entering the interstate on ramp and I lost power steering which almost caused me to have an accident. Making it extremely hard to steer the vehicle. Upon taking it to my local Ford dealership they told me my power steering torque control module was failing. This was a recall on Escapes from 2008 / 2011, but they said my particular VIN was not part of the recall??? upon further investigation myself I'm seeing where numerous Ford owners were having the same issue and like myself had to pay for this repair out of pocket. . . Not cheap I may add. It seems that someone will have to loose their life as a result of this defect before a recall is issued for (all) models in this time frame. . . What a horrible thing for Ford to put their consumers and their families in jepordy due to these defective parts. I would like to see full recall on all models between this time frame. Also vehicles to be fixed at Fords expense before someone looses a loved one. And reimburse those of us who have had it fixed at our expense. . . .
While having to replace the coolant at least twice a week and after having 2 recall repairs completed on the coolant system, then after 10000 miles after the recall repairs were completed, ie replace overflow bottle, sensors, etc. The car still is losing coolant and now the "engine has reached high temp please stop car safely". Warning is showing on panel and the car will go into drive but will not move. The car had not been driven when this "warning" occurred in my driveway, there was no way engine could have overheated as it had not been driven. This would appear to be a defect in the recall repairs that were done or that there is another problem. . I have the car currently at the dealership and am told that it could take up to 3 weeks for repairs.
My Ford Escape does not shift right anymore and it will not stay in park I have to have a brick put in front of it because my emergency brake does not even work. I received a recall letter but I cannot find my letter anymore. I was hit by a vehicle and I cannot walk and my son had clean the house so I have lost my letter I would appreciate it if I could get another recall letter so I can get mike's Escape fixed please.
On a snowy morning the brakes were applied normally and the slippery conditions caused anti-lock brakes to activate. They seemed to work normally, but after that activation the brake pedal felt very soft and would not engage the brakes until the very end of the pedal travel. The vehicle would still stop, but the brakes were unpredictable and unsafe. The problem was diagnosed as a bad hydraulic control unit (hcu) and was replaced with the abs module as a unit ($1700). The new unit required reprogramming and bleeding at the dealership ($200). Because this is a safety component within a reasonable mileage (140,000 vehicle mileage), this should be addressed by the oem with at least a TSB.
While driving, the abs and traction control error lights appeared on my dash followed by clicking noises. Shortly after my power steering stopped working while my vehicle was in motion. I was making a turn at a moderate speed and the sudden loss of power steering almost causing me to crash. Luckily I was able to control the vehicle but it was extremely difficult and I strained myself and pulled several upper body muscles in the process. I am a small woman and was barely able to manually turn the wheel. I have determined that the torque sensor is defective but my vehicle was not included in the recall for this part. Even though my VIN is not showing its associated with the recall. It is a 2011 Escape and I believe there are more vehicles including mine, that should be included in this recall. The defective part almost cause a tragic accident, and although I avoided that, I did injure myself in an effort to steer my vehicle without the assist of the power steering. Subsequently, the power steering randomly engaged twice within a week of it originally going out. Both times it reingaged while I was turning my vehicle and again this sudden change almost caused a crash. I've now had to pay out of pocket to replace this part and I feel this should have been included in the recall and repaired free of charge.
Ford fixed a recall on my car regarding the coolant sensor and my car hasn't been right ever since. Same day that I brought it home the coolant sensor said coolant level low even though they had just filled it up and there was plenty of coolant in the car. Yesterday on my way home from work my car over heated and, lights on the dash said for me to pull over safely as soon as possible. The car automatically slowed down to barely 5miles/hour on it own, it would not accelerate. Now the car is not drivable as it overheats within 30 seconds of starting the car up. Dealerships near me will not service my car for another 2 weeks and they don't have a loaner car that I can use in the meantime, and on top of that it's going to have to be towed to the dealership because it's non-drivable. According to the diagnostics ran on it the code that came up was - p1299.
I was sitting I the truck letting it warm up before I started my day I was scrolling threw my phone I looked up I saw hudge flames I reached to unlock the door when I realized the locks stopped working I was locked in the car luckily I had my windows cracked enough to reach out and open the door the radio blew up on my way out the car it was so hot I didn't expect anything I never had this problem before scared me to death worst car experience of my life I was scared to death I can't explain how bad I feel my truck was my new best friend I kept the truck clean pretty I'm hurt it's burned all up almost took my life if I would have look up any later I would have died.
While driving with my whole family. 2 little girls 12 and 6 and thankfully my husband driving and not me, we were returning a rental car when my car flashed out of no where going about 45mph power steering assist fault upon my research; there has been certain vehicles recalled. Come on Ford! whatever the default is, can you at least give us owners insight on this stuff to get it fixed? is this some kind of money maker for you all? to set up certain timers for this stuff to happen? I'm just so thanmf that I wasn't driving. I would have not had the power my husband does to overtake the wheel. Please please please do something!.
