The headlights keep going out. Every couple weeks to a month one of them blows out. Alternates between both of them to the point that there are times that both are out.
It seems like this is a common occurrence especially with this particular vehicle. The low beam led headlight bulbs keep on breaking resulting in no headlights. These bulbs are expensive and it is such a headache replacing them so often. This should not be the case, but it is.
The known issue with the 1. 5l ecoboost engines happened to my 2017 Escape at 79k miles right after having a the transmission shifter cable bushing recall fixed. Coincidentally, it didn't have the extensive issue before bringing it in for the recall and also ,coincidentally, my warranty expired last month and they told me it's my problem.
Several symptoms occur: first off its cold where we live & the car goes into deep sleep mode every night. I get a Fordpass message that states battery saver feature is activated. The car fails to start using the remote start or key fob. Dome lights don't turn on and remote features not allowed. this is a serious safety concern as it's getting colder, and engines not starting on a brand new vehicle is unacceptable. Please investigate this issue, as Ford dealers claim there is nothing wrong a TSB/recall is needed to resolve this problem for all customers.

The edges of the tail light covers are sharp and when I accidentally brush my arms on them while the tailgate is up exposing the edges, I cut my arms badly. I could not upload pictures of the tailgate cover edges or the cuts on my arm which I have.

Night driving safety risk due to no ambient lighting and unable to locate door controls, usb connection, heating controls, cup holder, while driving. Interior is in total darkness throughout night driving! if I need to find any connections I am unable and when I was driving I had to look away from traffic and avoided losing control of my vehicle!! Ford says this 2022 Escape doesn’t have ambient lighting and because this is a safety risk, I am hoping this can be rectified.

While driving on the interstate at 70mph, the entire dash display went black for a few seconds, then returned on. This happened three times, then returned back to normal.
There is an issue with the instrument gauge cluster upon ignition start-up. The digital gauge cluster screen suddenly turns off and restarts after a full minute of turning on the car's ignition. After an automatic software restart of the gauge cluster and driving on the highway through northbound mopac loop 1 in austin, the cluster shows a frozen black background with the blue normal drive mode. The gauge cluster works fine but intermittently goes blank after starting the car.
My headlights (low beam) constantly blow out. Could become a major problem if both blow out while driving at night.
During vehicle operation, on occasion, entire vehicle instrument panel goes dark and shuts off, which includes speedometer and warning lights. Cruise control deactivates and all displays and warning indicators DE-luminate. System will turn back on and flash multiple error codes before returning to normal. Sync/navigation system will also go out.
The cars electrical system has failed multiple times while driving leading to no headlights , brake lights and all other electrical components. We have had vehicle serviced by multiple different mechanics including Ford dealership however problem persists shortly after repair each time. Vehicle does not display any forewarning of failure such as no check engine lights or any indication that anything is wrong. All services and inspections show nothing is wrong however vehicle service records show electrical system and battery serviced/changed multiple time due to reoccurring problem. Manufacturer says that our VIN is not included in the recall however vehicle has all same issues as recalls from may 2014 to July 2015 . Vehicle was manufactured April 04,2015. How are vehicle does not fall under any of these recalls is beyond my understanding , at this point in time vehicle does not run due to multiple mechanics being unable to pin point or fix electrical issues. Would like vehicle reinspected for any of these recalls and car fixed and safe to drive.

After the vehicle sits idle for about two contiguous days and you open the driver's door, there are not lights on inside or outside. Normally when you open the driver's door, the center dash and console light up as well as the ambient lighting in various areas of the interior. There is no mention of the 'battery deep sleep' anywhere in the online user manual for a non electric vehicle (ice). Entering a dark interior in the middle of the night creates the potential for a slip and fall accident. Not to mention contact with kees and the dash or the door opening and the side of the head when trying to get situated behind the steering wheel.

My low beam headlights go out about every 60 days. I find myself having to drive home. . . Once with both lights failing at the same time. This is discussed in many on-line forums and seems to be a common problem with this car.
Low beam headlight bulbs keep burning out, literally replacing bulbs at least once a year.

The contact owns a 2017 Ford Escape. The contact stated that while driving 40 mph up an incline, the vehicle downshifted and stalled. The powertrain malfunction message was displayed. The headlamps had previously become inoperable. The contact stated that while driving, the vehicle hesitated and was idling high while reversing. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 103,000.
The contact owns a 2018 Ford Escape. The contact stated while driving 65 mph at night, the low-beam headlights turned off inadvertently. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact immediately veered to the side of the road and parked the vehicle. The vehicle remained on the side of the road while the contact returned to his residence with the assistance of his fiancée. The contact returned to the vehicle during daytime and drove to his residence. The contact replaced the headlight bulbs with h9 headlight bulbs himself; however, the low-beam headlight bulbs remained inoperable. The high-beam headlights operated as needed. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 49,850.
Vehicle has 32k miles on it and both low beam headlight bulbs failed at the exact same time. My daughter had just left her house and as soon as she got away from street lights she realized this. The odd part is that the in-dash indicators showed everything working normally with no faults, so we assumed it was an electrical issue. We got it to a Ford dealer (she has an extended warranty), and they "fixed a connection that had corroded, causing both bulbs to fail. " not covered under warranty, $250 to replace two bulbs and clean sockets. There are numerous Ford forums with the same complaints. Just felt that you folks should be made aware. . .
Repeated failure of passenger side low beam headlight bulb. The bulb has burned out 3 times within less than one year. No visible issues were found with the headlamp assembly. All new bulbs purchased to replace the previous, without defect, but have continued to fail. The first failure occurred in October 2021. Second failure in January 2022 and currently, the third failure October 2022.
In 2020 my headlights just went out one day. All the fuses were good the bulbs were good and Ford replaced the bcm (body control module). Luckily it was under the warranty because I only had approximately 28,000 miles. Fast forward to 2022 with approximately 49,000 miles, I was driving home late one night and the same issue happened while I was driving. Since the replacement in 2020 I have had to replace both headlights 3 times, this time replacing the headlights is not working and apparently, I will have to replace the bcm again. This apparently is the main computer system in the car, and it was very dangerous because the lights just went out at night. Upon further research several people are having the same issue; and have reported the problem on several webpages. . Read more...
I was stopped at a red light, in drive, when the car suddenly died. All the screens went black and the engine cut. I was also unable to use my electric locks or hazard lights. The car was eventually jumped, driven to a mechanic for the alternator and battery checked, with battery changed. Since receiving my car back with new battery, the media console does not work. Buttons illuminate but don't do anything, screen only shows time/date/temperature and backup camera. No sync, radio, bluetooth, cds. Ford support attempted multiple resets with no change.
Front headlights covers are turning brown inside and Ford motor company states to wait till it get worse and it a 2022 Escape se it should be replaced due to the care is new this problem is filed carothers states and none of the Ford companies are willing to replace them due to it’s too much for new ones and it looks like it my problem now the I have the car this matter needs to be fixed and not wait till it get worse and I get in an accident in the night.
The brake light assembly seem separates and water leaks in causing the brake lights to fail. I went online to see if this was an issue, it seems to be a very big issue with this vehicle.
Unknown. This is the 2nd time now that my vehicle is just stopped because of electrical issues use the 1st time the Ford dealership said that there is nothing wrong with the electrical and I told that there still was after I got to repair the last there's the last time and now it's the same issue same toll truck coming out to get it bringing it to the same dealership tell me the same stuff.

Prior to may 2022, both of the quarter panel mounted tail light assemblies on my 2017 Ford Escape se started taking in water due the seals on the tail lights failing. Soon after those started failing the same thing began happening to the tail light assemblies on the hatch. I have replaced all 4 tail lights with oem parts sourced from a salvage yard. All parts sourced from the salvage yard had a perfect conditions rating per the salvage yard. Fast forward to November 2024 and I began to notice the seals on the quarter panel mounted tail light assemblies begging to fail. Since then, the passenger side tail light assembly has began taking on water, with the driver side soon to take on water as well. Water and electricity do not mix. The tail lights are available for inspection upon request and I have included pictures. Driving at night or in low light conditions with my tail lights like this puts me and other drivers at risk due to water potentially shorting out my lights/electrical system and making my lights harder for other drivers to see. The problem, to my knowledge has not been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center. The vehicle component has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. First appeared prior to may 2022 and again, after replacing the components, around November 2024. I have appealed to the Ford motor company about this and no recall or programs are in affect for this issue at this time. I have also consulted with other owners of the same vehicle with the same issue and there are multiple online forum threads about this issue.
With no warning the SUV over heated and I took it to pep boys to see what was happening. They simple told me that I needed to replace the entire engine. This isn’t fair because I didn’t even get a warning. This SUV has other problems as well that Ford should have issued recalls for but there’s so many to list. I would just like my SUV to be fixed as I’m a single mom trying to make it through this trying times and now I have no car to get work, take my children to school, or even the day to day things that we need like a grocery store trip. I don’t 6,000 to 9,000 to repair my truck and I can’t afford to lose it either as I’m still paying the note on it. Can you please help us, I’m only trying.
Front left tower rod is going thru the wheel well from rust. This can cause major damage to myself, occupants, and the lives of others outside of the vehicle. The front left seatbelt light continuously alarms as if it is not connected. Is it? the back lights are always out not sure to replacement repeatedly. I'd the seatbelt good enough in an accident, I am not trying to find that it either. The lights are a ticket every time and are another hazard to other motorist. The main wheel rust was told to me upon a failed inspection. It is not fixed at this point just found out and looking for recalls but found many with the same exact hazard. The warning lights go off every minute and a half while driving in the dashboard. This has been since I purchased the vehicle last year. The same goes for replacing the back running light. I don't know if the auto place was aware of these problems, but I'm positive the were just trying to move the vehicle if the lot at this point. The repairs are more than half of the cost just for the wheel rust hazard.

2019 Ford Escape sel. Left and right front headlamps simultaneously stopped working during nighttime driving. Dangerous safety issue. Dashboard headlamp green symbol continued to display headlamps were functioning properly. There was no warning symbol. Vehicle electrical issue was repaired at dealership at no charge. I am aware of an identical problem occurring on a similar 2019 Ford Escape sel. My belief is the headlamp failure is not a random issue and is a serious safety defect that has not been addressed by Ford motor company.

The contact owns a 2022 Ford Escape. The contact stated that the headlight assembly had begun to delaminate which reduced the effectiveness of the headlights illumination. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where they confirmed that the failure with the headlight assembly and order the replacement headlights. The contact had the driver’s side headlight replaced; however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 1,500.
Vehicle was manufactured 04/2002 recalls state that from oct99 to jan04 multiple states had issues with rusting with suspension causing the car to crash. My vehicle was made in one of the states and has alot of underbody rusting. Back hatch latch gets stuck often and will not open. Drums on the back are sticking causing the vehicle to drag at take off, abs had a recall Ford dealer "fixed" the issue abs light stays on. Radiator light stays on constantly even though fluids are at correct level radiator is not damaged. Battery light constantly stays on as well brand new battery and alternator wire are connected free of corrosion. Interior lights caught on fire and melted the plastic housing so I had to take out the small bulbs. Everything is available for inspection if needed. Abs was looked at by Ford dealer and "fixed" but problem is still there. Problems have not been inspected by anyone other than the abs, no warnings at all. Events happened at different times during the time I got the vehicle. 2022 Jan.

Right headlight was not attached to car properly the clips are bend that hold it on the vehicle. Has been like this since I drove it off the lot. It makes it hard to see at night since the headlight does not sit properly. It points downward. I have reported this to the dealership where I bought it and to Ford itself. They say I didn't report it soon enough but I had just had eye surgery when I bought the car and thought I was having issues because of my eyes. Car is still under bumper to bumper warranty and they refuse to fix the issue. The service manager at the Ford dealership did take pictures pf the vehicle and said there was no way this car had ever been wreaked cause there's not a scratch on it and it had to come off the assembly line that way. The service manager got in trouble from the dealership for telling me this. The want to charge me 1,500. 00 to fix this and it's only two brackets. This is a huge safety concern because I can not see well at night.
