2 Tail Light Switch problem of the 2017 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 02/15/2019

Daylight running lights do not include tail lights. Cars driven at dusk, dawn, or weather conditions when headlights provide added safety are driven with only daylight headlight and no tail lights. Many times cars appear to be diving with no headlights, or lights, only to see they are driving with daylight running lights. Please engage all lights, headlights and tail lights at all times for added safety. Too many times vehicles are driven with what appears to be no tail lights. Daylight running lights with only headlights are dangerous.

3 Tail Light Switch problem of the 2016 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 07/05/2016

After driving 3200 mile. We noticed water drops from 1/8 to3/16 of an inch in the driver side rear tail lights. . In the morning I took the auto to Ford dealership where I purchased it. They took pictures of the fine water droplets and sent the pictures and other info to main Ford offices. I was called back a few hours later. Notified that this was normal and water will go out the lens's valve. When I said I would bring it back daily if needed to solve problem. I was told not to do so unless a different picture could be taken because it took all of 3 hours of his time to review and decide what to do, which was nothing.

4 Tail Light Switch problem of the 2015 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 01/04/2016

I recently sent this to Ford - I am not a Ford owner but I've been behind behind several Escape's and a smaller model hatchback. Both had their headlights on but their tail lights were not. I see this as a huge safety issue and while I understand the driver can select another setting - they don't know that! and someone is going to get into a terrible accident. Send a recall to your owners! Ford's response - my name is julie, I am from Ford`s customer relationship center (crc). I have reviewed your email regarding the tail lamps functionality on Ford vehicles. From time to time new vehicle options/features are added, deleted or modified. Decisions to make these changes take into account factors such as market trends, customer demands, engineering advances and dealership input. We have documented your comments which will be forwarded to the appropriate department for review and consideration. Moreover, Ford motor company and the national highway traffic and safety administration (NHTSA) work together to proactively identify areas of concern through investigation of consumer and dealer feedback. During an investigation Ford CO-operates fully with NHTSA. Due to our rigorous safety standards and constant testing, not all issues result in recall or customer satisfaction programs. Thank you for contacting Ford motor company. Sincerely, julie customer relationship center Ford motor company I've tried to notify the drivers but flashing my headlights at them only makes them think that I want to get around them and their is no way to talk to them on the freeway. At the very least please make Ford notify their drivers of the correct setting for their cars. Thanks for listening. P. S. I actually don't know the car year, but since I've not noticed this before I believe it to be new models.

5 Tail Light Switch problem of the 2007 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 08/30/2015

The passenger rear right brake/tail bulb went out, when I went to replace the bulb I found that the socket was burned, very dark brown splotchy areas, and had a distinctive odor. I checked the left, driver side and found that the socket on that brake/tail light was also turning brown at the pin site. It concerns me that I am finding this issue to be a consistent problem around the internet.
