You’re making the new Ford cars unsafe for shorter women. I just bought a new Ford Escape. I’m 5’3” tall (short, but not far from average) and the 2023 Ford Escape seat headrest does not fit. My seat is relatively farther forward so my feet can reach the peddles and the seat back is sort of straight up so that I can reach the steering wheel. This puts the headrest pointing forward into my head. I like to wear a ponytail which makes it even worse. The car should accommodate multiple sizes and hairstyles. The old 2013 edge headrest was adjustable and worked, but not this miserable piece of garbage. I’m ready to turn the headrest backwards or chuck this headrest. Please provide a solution!!! p. S. I actually wanted to buy the new Ford edge, but couldn’t because the headrest was worse. You’re making Ford cars unsafe for shorter women. Smarten up!.
I am concerned that the design of the headrest is not safe. I was in an accident recently where I was simply rear ended. I have a fairly serious concussion that I have had for nearly four weeks. I believe that I got the concussion because my head hit the visor and then the bottom edge, that jarts out, on the head rest.

I was driving on interstate 75 near bradenton in FL. 1:00 p. M. Perfectly clear & dry day. I was hit from behind, sent my Ford into the grassy median, car came to a stop at a wire guard rail. I didn't hit another vehicle. I was knocked unconscious, so I have no recall. This happened near a construction area & all I remember is traffic slowing, perhaps I was going 45-50 mph, & in process of slowing down. Although there was extensive damage to left front & side no airbags deployed. My head/face apparently hit the steering wheel. Therefore seat belt restraints did not hold me tight to the seat. I was taken to e. R. - had a concussion, they did lots of tests, kept me overnight in icu, discharged the next day. Also, later I was told by auto collision company & insurance investigator that the driver seat was damaged & had apparently come loose. The vehicle was totaled.

This document is in response to a frontal vehicle collision occuring may 16, 2014 on a major highway. At my request I requested the auto body repair shop to check the the occupant restraint system. It was determined that the restraint system control module was inative and probably has been since the car was built. Perhaps an investigan of the same, make, model, and year Ford SUV be considered. All supporting documentation is immediately available.

The contact states the head restraint posts on the front seats are dangerous. There is no padding to cover the metal posts in the back of the seat. In the event of an accident the rear seat occupants would not have any protection from the metal posts. The service dealer said this is the design of the cloth seats in this type of vehicle.
