The seat stopped working. The Ford almost gave out on me multiple times today. On the highway and twice on the road. Apparently this vehicle has been recalled plenty of times. It has something to do with bush wiring. The seat will not adjust or move forward and the windshield wipers don’t work. It basically gave out and will not reverse.

My 2023 Ford edge caused burns to the back of my legs. I was unaware until my grandma informed me that something was wrong with my legs. I noticed when I got the car 2 months ago level 3 of the seat warmer was way to hot like I felt it burning. So I only used on setting 1 or 2 and did not feel the burning sensation like when used on 3 but somehow my legs are burned.

Driver's side seat: I use heated seat at times along with a/c to help my lower back pain. On [xxx] I was using it. I moved my right leg as I was driving with cruise control and I felt some skin tear off of the back of my thigh. Of course, it hurt and I immediately put my hand down and the seat was ridiculously hot! I had to keep my hand cupped underneath as I pulled off on the next exit. My daughter, [xxx] , was with me to witness this. She took pics in the gas station bathroom. I had 3 blisters total and 1 had ripped open with the skin hanging on the side. I have diabetes and diabetic neuropathy. Not a good combination with a defective heated seat that overheats to the point of blisters! information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

I was on the passenger rear side, lifting the lever to lay the back of the seat flat and forward while doing so I was slightly in the vehicle, trying to lift the lever. When all of a sudden the seat flew forward very rapidly like spring action, and the piece that holds the seatbelt at the top of the back of the seat, which is plastic, slammed into my bridge of my nose, causing a laceration and possible nose fracture.
Turned the heated seat on (driver side seat). After a little while the seat felt too hot so I thought maybe my jacket was positioned strange on my back. I readjusted my jacket and turned the seat down to the medium setting. It still felt too hot so I turned it off. After exiting the vehicle I noticed a burn mark through the back of the seat. I checked my jacket and there were burn marks on it as well. Had I not been wearing a winter jacket I likely would have been burned. This also poses a safety concern of the seat starting on fire. The vehicle has not been evaluated yet. There were no warning messages or alarms prior to the malfunction. It can be inspected upon request.
1. These are manufacturing problems right after I got the car within 1-3 months the seat belt is exceedingly difficult for a child /toddler the seat belts go into the seat and other problems 2. The middle shift ( park reverse drive) shift with the button area when you're at a red light made of plastic 1 month after I got the car it keeps losing pins falling out and dropping down this happened they said they fixed it but they really did not keeps losing with the pins falling out and pins keep coming out and the Ford dealership in falls church virginia making me pay 3 reverse and brake is bad squeaks they said they fixed with some kit but they did not 4wheels area are bad 3 months had problems I not sure how to describe it.
The driver seat pokes at my tailbone and nobody can seem to find the fix for this. There is a whole forum with so many complaints about the same issue. I have had it looked at several times and put a block of wood on my seat trying to avoid the excruciating pain this seat causes me after driving for an extended period of time. I have spent a lot of money and gone to incredible lengths trying to resolve this issue and nothing works. I bought a new seat base, and a new replacement cushion as well as an additional gel cushion which I fold in half so it is double the thickness. Nothing works and I see so many in the same desperate situation. It is one particular seat base (escape 2020 - 2022) where all of the complaints for this are.
The seat heating element is stuck up out of the seat pushing into the person driving.

When folding down the rear seats to expand storage seatbelt buckles can become crushed, even when doing so per the manual's direct instructions, rendering the rear restraint system useless.
Of the 4 bolts that secure back of back seats to floor, one securing nut is missing and other 3 are loose, only barely screwed down a few turns.
There is an uncomfortable bulge in the front passenger heated seat.

The front seats in this car have been repaired once by the front dealer. It did not work and three calls to escalate to Ford headquarters have never been returned. The seat is so uncomfortable ( feels like riding on a buckboard) that after a couple hour trip, it pinched a nerve in my hip and my slow response to applying the brake almost caused an accident. The emergency braking system took over and stopped my car. I now have sciatica because of this seat and am being treated for it. It has been into the dealer at least four times and even the service manager tried the seat and agreed that there is a problem. He has been helpful, but Ford is blocking any solution.
The driver's seat is extremely uncomfortable. There is a lump or bulge in the back part of the bottom cushion that hits your tailbone.
The contact owns a 2020 Ford Escape. The contact stated that the driver’s side door was emitting a clicking sound while the door was moved. The contact stated that the door weld had fractured. The window failed to roll up automatically due to the failure. The back of the driver’s side seat had started tearing which exposed the frame of the seat. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer who replaced the door however, the failure persisted due to parts from the old door being used to secure the new door. The seat had not been repaired. The dealer was informed of the failure however, the vehicle had not been taken to the dealer for additional repairs. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 68,000.
The driver's seat has something protruding (seat heater?) into your tailbone which causes pain and discomfort. The constant adjusting to get comfortable (grabbing the steering wheel to pull myself forward) and slower reaction due to pain and numbness is a hazard waiting to happen. I have not addressed this with my local dealership as they had my car for 7 weeks and only fixed the recall issue (window switch) and none of the other 5 issues I took it in for.
The community I live is landlocked (juneau, alaska) and the one Ford dealership closed its doors a year and half later; since this time there is still not Ford dealership or authorized Ford garage in the juneau area to correct these six recalled items - Ford tells my I have to take it to dealer myself, however the cost to transport the 2014 Escape would cost in the thousands in transportation cost. I've called Ford several times over the years, and refused to send to send a technician or offer a local repair shop to fix these recalled items; some of recalled items are pretty serious (possible engine fire, and transmission slipping in or out gear). Please help as I try to get Ford to fix, but they offer nothing more expensive cost to me for defective product. Thank you, chris salazar.
The springs or bar at the back of the bottom seat of the drivers seat is poking up and I have to adjust constantly while driving as it hurts. Very unsafe to have to constantly change positions to try and not hurt. A picture will not show what is happening when the seat is sat on.
The rear view/backup camera has not worked since the day we drove it home. It will work intermittently but most of the time it shows wavy lines across the screen. Occasionally after shifting from reverse to drive, the camera will start working but the rear view picture will remain on the screen even while in drive! there is also a strange hump in the dash on the passenger side as if something is pushing up from underneath. The dealer was contacted the day after purchase and we were told to bring the vehicle back for inspection. Now we are told that parts are not available and they don't know when they will be. Ford has been contacted and we are getting no help from them either. We have a brand new, expensive, defective, and potentially dangerous vehicle. It also has the strange lump in the driver's seat that others have mentioned.
Shifting is not right it stopped in middle ofthe road and lost of power while in motion and wont move or shift gear this is after the recall as performed dealer was on interested on sell new car and car left deal in worst condition then it arrive in was charged for diagnosis and nothing was quoted almost cased a accident in a busy street and had my two year old daughter with me car was purchased a yr ago and seats are stuck and no reason or solution was offered other than to buy a new carcar was in motion and just from out the blue sounded like someone had hit car just?loud noise and car stared to move again and once again begam to force as if?it was on park wjen it was indrive wjen in?sport it wod show change very scary nowarming just stopped.
Thread holding seat cover together and seatbelt deterated cause covers to fall off seat and belt to detach from vehicle.
Drivers seat back heat got very hot and started to melt the seat back cover. Removed fuse.
The drivers seat (bottom cushion) has a piece of metal or heavy wiring, about 2 inches long, at the back of the seat, where your tailbone is. The wire is easy to find (it runs back to front) under the seat material. It is very uncomfortable when driving. I took it back to the Ford dealer I leased it from and they checked other 2020 Escapes and they were the same. The service department said there isn't anything they can do until there is a recall. I called Ford customer service and he said he would note the problem. I dread sitting in the seat but I love the car.
