Unknown Or Other problem #1

On the morning of January 26, 2012 I parked may car at my employee parking lot at approximately 5:50am. I head to work like any ordinary day, and at approximately 8:30 am, I had CO-workers informing me that my car was on fire. I ran out to the parking lot and found my car in flames. My 2001 Ford Expedition eddie bauer caused the two cars on my sides to catch on fire as well. When the fire department arrived it was too late to save anything from the car. It was a total loss, everything inside was destroyed into ashes, my personal belongings were unrecognizable. I only had liability insurance on my car, and will have to pay for the damages that my car caused to the other people. . I am now left with no car, and having the blame of the fire when I did absolutely nothing wrong. My Ford Expedition was in perfect conditions and up to date with all of the services; now that it was the family car and we traveled all around the country with it. We were the only owners and bought it brand new for a reason. The cruise control recall was taken care of immediately after receiving the letter in the year 2004, and was never re-installed. The causes of the fire are still unknown, and I will like to let Ford know of the situation so they can do something about it. It is such a traumatizing situation that I would not like anyone else to experience. I have lost all of my trust on Ford. Be aware people, do not park next to a Ford, you never know when they might catch on fire.

Unknown Or Other problem #2

I have had my truck suddenly jump forward about 5ft after already being stopped for a little bit at a stop light. It has happened to me more then once and my foot is planted firmly on the brake pedal. It feels almost like you are being hit in the rear but there is no one there so what gives?.

Unknown Or Other problem #3

My Ford Expedition blew out the #3 cylinder spark plug.

Unknown Or Other problem #4

My 2001 Ford Expedition has unwanted electrical activity when the car is unattended and has ran the battery out. It can cause a fire. I have been informed that it is a leaking windshield and is a common problem in this year of vehicle. The dealership says that the gem and fuse box were getting wet. The electrical items could start a fire.

Unknown Or Other problem #5

Underbody spare tire carrier/winch cable failed causing the spare to fall into the road. I believe that there is a small metal piece pressed onto the end of the cable which broke off. No accident or injury resulted but if the tire had fallen at highway speed it could have killed someone.

Unknown Or Other problem #6

On 3 occasions this year,2005 ( July, November and December) when humidity is really high, and/or snow would cover my 2001 Ford Expedition, I would have unexplainable electrical problems. Either my headlight won't shut off, the blower would not shut when turning engine off, power windows wont work, seated heat won't work, abs light would turn on. An unusual ticking sound under the steering wheel could be heard intermittently. After a day or two, the problem seem to self resolve. This then makes it difficult because the Ford dealers aren't able to help me if the problem was resolved. The most recent incident in December was the most frustrating. I consulted 3 Ford dealers and non of them would fix it for me. I have 78,000 miles on my truck and I did buy the premium extended warranty up to 100,000. The dealer said, we won't fix your problem because leaks is not covered in your warranty and that is the cause of your problem. I even pointed out to the dealers that I read on NHTSA web site that this was not as uncommon as what I thought it was ( referring to nvs-212cag ea05-015). None of them would help me without me paying at least $600 just to check the truck ,because they said it required opening the dash board.

Unknown Or Other problem #7

It just keeps feeling like someone is rear ended us every time we go to stop and I had the transmission checked out and its fine.

Unknown Or Other problem #8

Beginning about 8-12 month's ago, the right rear child safety lock frequently switches from the "unlocked" position to the "locked" position, approximately every 3rd-to-4th time the right rear door is shut. This malfuntion of a safety feature creates situations where the passenger is locked within the car and cannot let themselves out unless the door is openned from the outside.

Unknown Or Other problem #9

The gas pedal on the adjustable pedal system will on occasion wedge under edge of floor mat. Floor mats I have are oem parts that came with the vehicle. Problem has happened twice in 2 months, once at 75mph, and the other at 5 mph. Second incident caused accident. Driver side floor mat is secured to floor carpet with "retainer" mechanism (hook) this is a very dangerous design flaw in the adjustable pedal system and must be addressed by Ford motor company.
