Led daytime running lights have failed and turned blue on one side. This issue appears to affect many vehicles of the same make and model. Drls are a piece of safety equipment that makes the vehicle more visible to others, and as such, should be in proper working order.

Passenger side daytime running lights (drl) have dimmed, diminishing daytime visibility . Led bulb may be out. Seems to be a common problem per other Expedition owners. There were no warnings or messages stating problem. The only way to fix the problem is by replacing the entire headlamp assembly ($1,200 plus labor).

Led daytime running light on passenger side headlight is fading and has purple hue at times. This presents poor visibility to other vehicles and can create confusion due to inconsistent appearance for oncoming traffic.

Drl failure is widespread across Ford vehicles and should be addressed by the manufacturer.

Passenger side drl (daytime running light) has dimmed and turned purple. Upon further research, this is happening to thousands of Ford Expeditions specifically on the passenger side. The only repair is to replace entire housing.

The component that failed is the left front driver side headlight of the vehicle, resulting in low visibility and inability to see or drive the vehicle in it's current condition at night. The only "warning" that could potentially have been a "warning", was the blinker began rapidly blinking the day before the headlight stopped functioning; the blinker no longer worked in the headlight but still worked on the driver mirror and back taillight. By the next day, the driver side headlight no longer functioned. It is my knowledge that Ford has a lifetime guarantee on the headlights for this make, model, and year of vehicle. Due to this not functioning, I would like to get it properly replaced under warranty or guarantee of Ford.

Just purchased a certified used vehicle. 1) passenger dtrl is half way burnt out. Upon reading tons of forums online, I’m seeing this is a very common issue. 2) the back up guide lines on the back up camera does not show. After master reset of the sync system , the lines appeared once. Since then it has not shown ever again.

The passenger drl is only lit at at the top strip and not the rest of the strip.

The contact owns a 2004 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that the turn signals, the hazard lights, and the cigarette lighter had become inoperable. The tpms warning light was illuminated. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.

The passenger side headlight assembly has a led daytime running light strip that has burnt out and is a common issue with this model car.

The passenger side daytime running light has burned out. Daytime running lights are a safety feature for myself and other drivers. The problem happens 100% of the time. The dealership has inspected the issue and suggest replacing the entire headlight assembly. It happened January 2025 and no warning lights came on. It was brought to my attention by another driver in traffic.

The coating and plastic is failing in the headlights, this can reduce visibility and by extension safety.

The passenger side day time running light led halo is partially not working-daytime running light defective. Several customers affected for the same reason all over internet.

Daylight light led lighting is halfway off.

Passenger side front headlight failure. The led turns purple. Appears this is a common problem on vehicle with this type of headlight assembly f series as well. Dealers claim they don't know about it but a quick search to find its a common issue. Available for inspection. Light failure, confirmation is it is now always that way. Was inspected at the dealership and informed it was $3000 to replace the light assembly. No warning driver in front of me informed me to the issue.

Drl is only half on seems that this is a common problem and a safety problem for it is a lighting issue.

March 2019- December 2021 car serviced by Ford dealers and repeatedly told to ignore csp recall notice California emissions warranty paid out of pocket for services August 2023 Ford issues recall of climate control blower motor Nov 2022 -customer has multiple issues addressed at south bay Ford in CA customer was not notified of open recall December 2022 customer notices hot air spontaneously intermittently blowing at full force and can not stop it customer notices dash lights flickering intermittently service light illuminates and remains on for a few hours and turns off February 2023 hot air begins spontaneously blowing more frequently March 2023 hot air blows constantly. Customer notices burnt plastic smell and loud clicking noises. Customer is unable to drive with out all windows opened in order to breathe audio stops working. Navigation stops working. Clocks reset and cannot be changed. Customer learns of recall for climate control blower motor and contacts Ford customer service. Fcs contacts south bay Ford and informs customer to bring car in for service and that rental services will be provided. Vehicle arrives at dealership. Customer is unable to speak with service agent for several days. Service agent informs customer that the recall has been addressed but audio and other issues including hot air blowing have not and will not be repaired due to parts being obsolete despite multiple warranties covering the repair. Service agent suggests customer goes to a junk yard for the part. Customer picks up the car and finds exposed wiring and tools left inside as well as places where interior sections had been removed and improperly replaced. Service manager closes the exposed area removes the tools and says he will try and obtain the obsolete part. Customer contacts Ford corporate and after a month of following up is left with the issues persisting and no remedy. Car feels unsafe and unstable. Customer has no trust in the vehicle.

Rear cabin lights do not come on when doors are opened. When manually turned on, at times, rear cabin lights will turn on and not be able to be turned off. This created a hazard while driving at night/early morning. We had to cover interior lighting to be able to drive safely. I feel this is a product issue. Dealer said it’s normal working order.

All lenses on the front headlights have stress cracks forming in the corner of the housing. This has allowed moisture and condensation to build inside the housing and is altering the light output.

My truck has been running fine with new parts on it. I went to my friend's house went in to switch my laundry, looked out her window and my was on fire!! truck off and keys were not in ignition and it was parked in a driveway under a carport. It posed no problems on the way over there, no smells, no sounds, no nothing. And then bam! hood shooting out flames.

I have a wonderful 2018 Ford Expedition. I love everything about the car, and expected I would, because I did research before leasing it. The one thing I didn't do, which I've never had to do in all my years of car buying or leasing, is test drive the car at nighttime. The standard halogen headlamps are awful, and dangerous. I cannot see anything. My girlfriend also can't see anything while driving the car. I have taken the car to the dealer who assured me that everything is functioning as it should. But I swear I have never driven a car with headlamps this dim or poorly designed. Especially for a car so large, the projector lamp cutoff is too sharp and too low. Of course, using the high beams does bring the lightning to normal, but I am blinding other drivers. This needs to be addressed by Ford ASAP. If you monitor what's other Expedition drivers are saying in online forums, I guarantee you will find the same result. There hasn't been an accident or incident yet, but it seems like it's only a matter of time. I am afraid to drive this car at night, or even to be around other people driving the same car with standard halogen headlamps. It's not safe for this car to be on the road with its current equipment setup.

The check suspension light is on and I noticed every Expedition in this year range has suspension problems and the wireing sometimes the radio will go off and the lights on dash and speedometer lights will shut off.

Tried to start with key out of the ignition. Lights would not turn of. Had to disconnect the battery. This would be life threatening if happened in a closed garage.

Spark plug popped out my iginition coil and the threading section is stripped. When I started my car an exploration sound occurred. Also, my driver side head light won't stay lite even with replacement light unit. Also car stalls when car is facing down a hill, even with a full tank of gas.

I was traveling at 70 mph on the interstate. The car popped, sputtered and died. Has steadily gotten more and more frequent. Engine dies at idle, dies at slow speeds as well as faster speeds. Very dangerous! have replaced the pcm, wiring harness, and fuel pump. Is not repaired. Power mirrors readjust themselves when the keyless entry is used. Several warning lights stay on, door ajar, check fuel cap, advatrac will not turn on. Rear window will not work. Back up sensor will not work. Interior lights as well as exterior lighting will not power off when car is turned off. You must manually turn them off or the battery drains. Cd player will not eject cd's loud popping sound in the front end and grinding sound when stopping. I have had this in the shop since June of 2014 and they cannot find the problem. Have already spent $1000 trying to repair. This vehicle is dangerous and can very likely cause an accident. It is not safe to drive. Ford auto shop wants to charge me $100 an hour to diagnose the problem then they are not sure if they can find the problem, they are telling me it could cost between $500-$1000 just to find the problem. I have checked several web sites and see that there are many, many people with the same problems with the same type of vehicle. This should be looked into before someone is injured or killed in an accident caused from the car stalling!!!.

Wipers fail, came within inches of major crash several times, due to poor or no visibility from rain or snow because of wipers complete failure. Also, power windows fail, interior lights fail, radio fails, 4 wheel drive fail and it was stated on line that air bag failure is also a problem. Can not drive in rain or snow! when looking up the gem module part (generic electronic module) it was stated in several online parts sources that the 2001 Ford Expedition had a windshield improperley sealed at the factory on the assembly line. Thus water leaks on the gem module shorting it out; and it was stated that in several of the same vehicles that their entire fuse box fails which is located directly under the gem module which is mounted on top of the fuse box causing entire electrical failure. I feel it is the responsibility of Ford to recall these vehicles and fix the problem. It is an assembly line failure, I can not renew my licence due to safety standards until this issue is addressed and Ford corrects the problem.
