Rearview System Braking Problems of Ford Expedition

Back-up camera, the back over prevention: sensing system: camera only works intermittently. I'm being told me vehicle is not part of the current recall in the 2015 Expedition that was issued in April 2025, yet my vehicle (a 2015 Expedition) is experiencing the problems detailed in the recall. Why isn't my vehicle part of this recall, shouldn't the recall be expanded to all 2015 Expeditions experiencing problems with faulty back-up cameras?.

Rear backup camera works periodically, there is a recall on the 2015 Expedition for this problem, but I’m being told my vehicle (VIN) is not included. The repair cost is over $1000. Why ins’t my Expedition included in the recall - I’m having the exact problem as documented in the recall. How many others are being affected by this problem but being excluded in the recall. Please investigate, this problem seems to be larger then the current recall.

My vehicle doesn’t alert me of incoming vehicles and the reverse camera stays on. When I turn on my vehicle the dash stays on with Ford sign so when I put on reverse my back up camera doesn’t turn on at all. I have to use all my mirrors to back out of parking. This feature hasn’t been working properly for a year. They keep telling me Ford is working to fix this issue.

2 failures in vehicle 1) NHTSA recall 22s56 - blower motor causing excessive heat and posing a fire risk. Parts attached to blower fan not covered under recall (resistor and harness) caught fire, burned, and melted. Ford refuses to cover the additional parts under recall. I have photos from dealer of melted and burned parts behind dash. We smelled something burning in truck and then the front blower ceased working. Now I know why - many owners reporting same things and this repair should be covered, or recall expanded to include these additional repairs if needed due to the excessive heat from the blower motor. This could have very easily caused a vehicle fire while I was driving, and we could have been seriously injured. 2) rear back up camera failure due to poor seal around camera and lack of waterproofing of camera electronics causing corrosion and failure. Problem clearly seen in attached video ( not my car but same exact issue) again, many other owners experiencing same issue. This is a safety hazard as camera suddenly failed while I was reversing and caused a near miss of a pedestrian. Camera components need to be waterproofed and sealed better - there is clearly water leaking into the rear door panel causing corrosion as indicated by dealer. Https://video. Search. Yahoo. Since purchasing this vehicle in January of 2023, it has been to the dealer three times to repair a failed blind spot monitoring system and rear cross traffic alert system due to corroded pins in the connectors of the sensors. According to the dealer, this is due to the connector utilizing only four of eight pins which leaves four pins unused and open to corrosion. On the third trip in, the dealer applied, "super glue" to try and prevent any future corrosion. While there was not a specific accident related to this, I do believe this has the potential to cause issues in the future if not properly addressed by Ford. When backing up the camera goes out and I cannot see what is behind me. This keeps happening intermittently.

Rear-view cameras it is available for inspection. It has been reproduced by gullo Ford dealership in conroe, TX. They finally replaced it in 2020 but it continues to black out monthly for periods of time. As far as I know only the dealer has looked at it. No warning it just goes black or distorted. Invoices, letter to Ford, etc. Available but I don't know how to upload. Continuing problems we have had with the damn back-up camera and why its not covered now by warranty. Over the 42 months from basically inception we have had the truck up there at least 6 times to have it looked at and repaired, it still goes off for weeks at a time even though they said they replaced it the last time. Well it still doesn't work. The rear-view cameras have been out of service probably 25% of the time we have owned it (42 months). To me, this is a major safety issue. We are grandparents with alot of kids in neighborhood. You can't see out the back of an Expedition clearly without the camera. We also see Ford has recalled your 2020 similar models for the same problem. The rear-cameras are not working now.

The backup camera becomes blurry and sill distorted. Why are only new Ford Expeditions recalled for this problem? this problem started just over a year after purchase and I was told I would have to pay to have this fixed. I try not to rely on this amd purchased the vehicle because of the safety features, and it does not properly work. Sometimes it does and sometimes it is so blurry and distorted I can not tell if something or someone is behind my vehicle. It is when I back up that the problem occurs.
