The vehicle stopped running while driving, my wife stopped at a stop sign after vehicle had run ~ 10 minutes. Upon entering the inter-section the vehicle started to run rough, and ultimately stalled and would not restart. She was able to coast into a parking lot entrance within on top of world subdivision where we live and get off of main road. After multiple aaa attempts to jump start, aaa confirmed the vehicle was unable to be jump started, therefore vehicle was towed to local Ford dealership for diagnostics. They tried to jump start multiple times and after 2 days, pushed it into garage. They confirmed fuel pump failure and replaced with current design. We were charged for towing, new battery, and fuel pump system replacement with current design and advised we would have to bring it back in when Ford identified remedy for current recall. No loaner vehicle provided. We are very concerned as if this event had occurred on an interstate, there is a high risk of accident/injury. After repair with existing part designs we are worried about another failure on busy road/interstate.

Was returning home from a drive on a freeway and noticed that car started shaking violently on right side rear of vehicle, like tires were loose, when I was close to the exit. Upon exiting freeway I noticed that vehicle at 20mph speeds+ (more noticeable at 25mph+) the car began shaking. Car shakes as well throughout braking. I took it to the tire shop to see if it was a tire issue or a balance issue, but the shop informed it wasn't a tire issue but possibly a cv related. Because I'm feeling the vibrations more from one side of vehicle, thinking it could be related to the toe link. Seeing car parked on driveway, it does seem to be leaning more to the right in the rear of the vehicle.

The vehicle's steering wheel became very loose at ~50k miles making it wobbly and potential to fall off which could cause danger while driving and possibility of airbag deployment. As seen in the attached pictures, there was no thread locker on the bolt that tightens the steering wheel down. I was able to remove it simply with my hands upon a few twist.
The contact owns a 2017 Ford Expedition. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 24v542000 (steering), but the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, a case was opened, and the contact was referred to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was unknown.
At highway speeds, the car shakes/vibrates. It's scary. Took vehicle to Ford service. They identified the problem, acknowledged that it exists and was unable to fix it. Now, I'm stuck with this car that shakes and seems unsafe as it shakes. Additionally, was told by the Ford dealer that other Ford Expeditions have come in with the same problem and have been unable to remedy. Even with a case open with the Ford engineers, they were unable to fix. Ford motor company has been contacted about the issue along with the executive offices of Ford and the ceo.

Steering wheel is loose and wobbly as if it will fall off. I noticed that Ford issued a recall in March 2018 for this problem (see below) however it does not include my 2016 Ford Expedition that is having the exact same issue. Dearborn, mich. , March 14, 2018 – Ford motor company is issuing two safety recalls in north America. Details are as follows: select 2014-18 Ford fusion and Lincoln mkz vehicles for loose steering wheel bolts that could lead to a steering wheel detaching from steering column Ford is issuing a safety recall in north America for approximately 1. 3 million 2014-18 Ford fusion and Lincoln mkz vehicles for potentially loose steering wheel bolts that could result in a steering wheel detaching from the steering column. In affected vehicles, the steering wheel bolt may not maintain torque, allowing the bolt to loosen over time, and if not serviced, a steering wheel could potentially detach and lead to a loss of steering control and increased risk of a crash. Ford is aware of two accidents with one injury allegedly related to this condition. Affected vehicles include: 2014-17 Ford fusion vehicles built at flat rock assembly plant, Aug. 6, 2013 to Feb. 29, 2016 2014-18 Ford fusion vehicles built at hermosillo assembly plant, July 25, 2013 to March 5, 2018 2014-18 Lincoln mkz vehicles built at hermosillo assembly plant, July 25, 2013 to March 5, 2018 the recall involves approximately 1,378,637 vehicles in north America with 1,301,986 in the united states and federalized territories, 62,479 in canada and 14,172 in mexico. The Ford reference number for this recall is 18s08. Dealers will replace the steering wheel bolt on the vehicle with a longer bolt with more robust thread engagement and larger nylon patch placed properly for proper torque retention— at no cost to customers.
This issue has happened multiple times, once on the highway the vehicle felt like it lost gear/ the engine completely cut off. Multiple warning lights came on such as airbag, abs, engine light. Was eventually able to get to the shoulder and after multiple attempts it started back up, showed no warning lights. Drove the rest of the way fine. Another time that could have put other at risk is when driving in the city, the vehicle lost power and also lost the ability to stee. Causing me to be standstill in the roadway. The vehicle started back up after two attempts. The vehicle has been to the local deal a total of 4 times with the last time requesting a through inspection of the grounds, as this seems like an electrical or mechanical issue the service manager requesting me "not to bring it back until it's broken" leaves me lost.
The contact owns a 1997 Ford Expedition. The contact stated while driving 35 mph, the steering wheel became loosened while making a left turn. The contact stated that the "check suspension" and "check abs" messages were displayed on the instrument panel along with the oil, brake, and battery warning lights being illuminated. The contact called a local dealer and was informed that the part needed to repair the steering wheel was no longer in stock. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure and the contact was provided the same information as from the dealer. The contact also stated that moisture had begun to leak from the sunroof. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 171,000.

On 11/2022 and 11/2023, my vehicle dashboard started blinking and my car turned off on its own. The first time, it happened just after I had dropped off my children at school. After waiting a few minutes, I pressed the start button and my car turned on again. It seemed fine until I reached a stop light, where it shut off once more. I called my husband and told him that I was going to Ford. The advisor mentioned that it could be an alternator issue or a battery issue. The battery was replaced since it was still under warranty. When it happened in 11/2023, I told the advisor that this had happened exactly one year earlier. He checked my vehicle history, confirmed once again that my battery wasn't low and replaced the battery since it was still under warranty. Ford couldn't confirm what may have caused this problem. My husband and I both noticed that our vehicle would shift hard and do a big jerk when shifting gears. I brought it in for an oil change and when my advisor matt moved my vehicle, he mentioned that it didn't sound good. I told him that its happened many times before. However, after the servicing, no issues were found. On 02/06/24, the engine light in my car came. The purge valve was replaced, but nine days later, the engine light reappeared. My Ford advisor informed me that the transmission needed to be completely replaced, along with the evaporative canister. Just 8 days after the transmission was replaced, I noticed oil leaking all over my driveway. I returned to the Ford and was told that the transmission oil was leaking. A transmission gasket pan was replaced. At the end of may, the engine light came on again after just 2 months since my last service. This time I was informed that the front pinion was leaking. I was also told I would need a replacement of the ftp sensor and the fuel tank would need to be dropped. Additionally, the car has been experiencing harsh shifting and jerking between gears again for the past month which could be my transmission.
Vehicle lost power steering as it was parking. A message flashed on screen. Throttle surged. Hit a car on left. In an attempt to avoid the car on left, vehicle lunged to the right and hit a second vehicle. -steering failed. -two other vehicles were impacted. Steering pulled drivers had and damaged her thumb. Will require surgery. -body shop confirmed that steering is still not functional after being towed. -vehicle has not been inspected yet. -some warning message flashed during the incident but was not visible after.
The brakes are burning while driving & the emergency brakes are not applied. The power windows are failing 1 by 1.

Unknown. Lots of vibration issues through the body and steering wheel shimmy. Whole cabin harmonic vibrations put new tires on and road force balanced. Still having issues. Truck veers left and right without input when going over bumps. Steering wheel shimmy’s left and right when going over bumps. Transmission seems to lock up and release while going over bumps while stopping.

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that the steering wheel control buttons were inoperable. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the control buttons were replaced; however, the failure persisted. The dealer diagnosed that the steering wheel wiring had failed, and that the steering wheel needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 72,000.
•steering assist fault and yes it is available to inspect •power steering went out while driving. Could not turn properly as vehicle was hard to turn wheel and was almost hit on icy road. Had two children and pregnant wife in vehicle with me. •problem is continuous and has been verified by dealer as well as an independent service center. •it has been inspected by local Ford dealership •no there were no prior warnings. It just happened when driving and now happens every time on startup. No power steering. This began in November 2022. We have been patiently waiting on Ford to receive these parts as it's been confirmed that there is a failure in the power steering module. There is no update or time frame for receiving parts and getting a repair. After searching for answers it seems this has happened to many others with these same year Expeditions and f-150.
The contact owns a 2004 Ford Expedition. The contact stated while driving approximately 10 mph, the vehicle lunged forward while depressing the accelerator pedal. The contact was unable to drive above 15 mph because the vehicle became difficult to control. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic who diagnosed and determined that the rear axle was fractured, the rear subframe was severely corroded, and the rear driver's side sway bar and rear differential were corroded. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 110,665.

Vehicle is making clicking sound when steering. Also there was an electrical sparking sound in steering wheel that was found and fixed.
6 months ago, electronic power steering failed (control module?). Today. Electric throttle body - code p2111. Driving down the road and lost acceleration (the “limp” condition). Engine is running but no reaction to the gas pedal. Wrench symbol on the dash. I coasted to a spot where I could get out of traffic. Restarted the vehicle and the error went away. When I made it home, I removed the throttle body. Butterfly was a little dirty but much cleaner than the ones shown on youtube. Opened the gear box and it was clean too. However, several teeth on the plastic gears were worn and/or disfigured. It also seemed like the little electric motor would not let the butterfly shut all the way.
The vehicle dashboard stared showing the warning stering assist fault service required. The stering is disabled and it becomes very hard or impossible to drive. Issue started happening at any time while driving.
I was driving on a small highway (2 times) and a neighborhood street (1 time) going 25 mph (45 mph on the highway) or more when all of the sudden I was unable to accelerate. My car seemed to shift into a different drive with the way it felt and some shaking. I would push the pedal to the floor and nothing would happen. I had to coast into a parking lot twice off of a busy road with my children in the car. When the car was turned off and then back on it was as if nothing ever happened and ran fine so that I could drive home. I had a mechanic do a diagnostic and no codes for this incident where stored or present. The third time it happened I did not shut the car off until someone could come and run a diagnostic which read the code p2112, throttle actuator, control system stuck? replaced the throttle body. This last time it happened, I had to cross two lanes of busy morning work traffic in order to get to a parking lot.
Lloss of steering control while driving on a highway.

Steering is extremely overactive and seems twitching, meaning at low speed or at high rate of travel very slight movements of the steering wheel cause the vehicle to move suddenly, and uncontrollably, previous owner went off highway and felt unsafe in vehicle because of this issue. I imagine this has to do with the variable assist power steering but cannot find any diagnostic aide in resolution of issue.
While driving without warning a steering assist fault popped up and I was un able to steer my Expedition at 70 miles an hour now I am stuck and have get it towed after it almost caused me to wreck I've looked it up and it's a very common problem so was shock to find that it is not a recall it's going to kill someone.
2013 Ford Expedition will not shift out of park. Vehicle will not reverse or drive. I was stuck at my bank drive thru. I could not shift out of park to go forward or reverse.

At 1000k miles the electrical panels on the car lit up like a christmas tree. When it was pulled over and placed into park, it jumped. We called the dealer to be told it was a glitch and would work itself out. The next time, we took pictures and they misdiagnosed it twice. The third time, they saw it and did a bandaid repair and now say they have to dissamble and rebuild the car's electrical system, including dropping fuel tanks and other major components to get there. They are evaluating whether or not they "buy back" the car and we take a large depreciation hit and the months it took to repair it. It was 1000 miles when it happened and they should have offered a full refund. Now we have a car of questionalbe integrity, they did not let us know how bad the problem was at the bandaid repair stage, and now want to charge us for a factor defect. This is after we bought a truck that developed the Ford "death wobble" and returned the vehicle at a loss. We had a suburban for 20 years and no issues. Ford, while facing multiple lawsuits on many cars, will not own up to factory mistakes. 3 misdiagnosis and then a bandaid fix without accountability of how extensive the problem was with the vehicle. Ford corporate did not ask for pictures and refused to give us email address contact information for the legal department. Ridiculou.
Exiting the 215 northbound, we stopped and parked at a store. While parked the indicator light came on for low tire pressure. I did not pay that much attention because the car indicator light has come on before and the car had recently had its routine maintenance check. When driving was resumed the car began to wobble. Assuming we had a flat, we attempted to drive to a more illuminated area to inspect the car and call road side services. The car at this point was beginning to decelerate almost to a stop so I inched car onto an unpaved area. I assumed the car's slowing and stopping on its own was a safety feature. As I pulled to the side of an unpaved city road, I had my foot on the brake but not in the parking gear. The car was stationary as my sister exited the car and to inspect the tires. The right rear passenger tire was fully deflated. My two daughters were about to get out of the car so had unfastened their seatbelts. This is when the car made a quick sudden jerk forward, I pressed my foot on brake to make sure the car was at a complete stop and that was when it felt like a force had pushed the car to top speed, an sudden unintended and forceful acceleration. I attempted to brake but I had no control. I was trying to avoid hitting the pole, but also had no control over the steering wheel. The car collided with a water valve/pole and chain link fence at top speed.
Vehicle was 18 months old, manufactured in July 2017, issue arose is December 2019. The power steering went out. We were told it was due to a corroded positive battery cable. We bought a warranty but the repairs were not covered by the warranty because it is considered a "maintenance issue. " the repairs cost about $1,000.
