2 Door problem

Tl the contact owns a 2013 Ford Explorer. The contact stated while driving 35 mph, the front driver's side door opened independently and the door ajar warning light was illuminated. The contact called local dealer anderson Ford located at 3900 clemson blvd, anderson, SC 29621, (864) 225-4151, and made the dealer aware of the failure. The vehicle had not been diagnosed nor repaired as of yet. The manufacturer had been informed of failure. The failure mileage was 185,000.

3 Door problem

Failure Date: 08/18/2014

The contact owns a 2013 Ford Explorer. The contact stated that the driver's side door sensor failed to function properly, and the internal lighting remained illuminated and drained the battery. The chime sounded each time the failure occurred, which indicated that the door may be open when it was closed. The vehicle was taken to the one dealer twice and the sensors were cleaned. Within a year of the first repair, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, but the contact was uncertain if the dealer cleaned or replaced the sensor. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and advised the contact to take the vehicle to the first dealer again and then a second dealer for further diagnostic testing. The contact was waiting for a response from the manufacturer. The VIN and failure mileage were not available.

4 Door problem

Failure Date: 07/01/2014

The contact owns a 2013 Ford Explorer. While operating the vehicle, the door ajar sensor light illuminated indicating that the front driver side door was ajar although the door was closed and secured. The contact indicated the dome light would also remain on causing poor visibility when driving in reverse at night. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who replaced the sensor light but the failure eventually recurred. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 20,000.
