While using Ford blue cruise, the blue cruise system failed to maintain lane control and fought the driver's steering wheel input, resulting in the vehicle colliding with a traffic cone. I have had 3 other instances where blue cruise has randomly jerked me toward the shoulder or an exit ramp, this is the first time colliding with anything. Only damage to the vehicle from this incident is a ripped fender well liner, there are some markings on tire sidewall but no damage. Certainly could have been worse. The cone collision happened on interstate 79 northbound at mm101 in west virginia. I have had lane jerking happen with blue cruise twice northbound at mm105, and once southbound at mm118. The system is on by default, I am trying to figure out how to turn it off to prevent future safety issues.

While driving the car, the steering locked up making the vehicle unable to turn. Thank got it happened in a parking lot where the truck blocked traffic for hours before getting towed. The dealer took 6 weeks of guessing the problem with Ford engineers. Replacing numerous parts in an attempt to guess what the issue was. After contacting Ford directly and expressing my concerns over the safety of the truck. They refused to communicate with me and forwarded all my information to their legal staff. Still no update from Ford regarding the repair was done properly or even confirming the safety of the car.

My power steering went out within 5 minutes of the "service power steering now" and the "lane keeping system malfunction service required" lights came on while I was driving on the interstate at 75 mph. When I turned off the Explorer and turned it back on the power steering was completely gone. I checked on Ford's recall website and they show that there is a "customer service program" for the epas steering efforts and for "rear toe link inspection replacement", nothing stating that these "customer service programs" were restricted at 10 years or 150,000 miles anywhere online. When I call Ford to let them know that my VIN is showing that the electric power steering should be covered and asking about what can be done to get my broken down Explorer to them and then I get told that my Explorer doesn't qualify anymore. When I typed in my VIN it said my Explorer qualifies, why would it show that if the program ended at 10 years which would have been 2023. This makes the owners of these Ford's believe that Ford will take care of their vehicles when there is a know safety issue but then that is not the case. I could've wrecked going 75 mph if I wouldn't have gotten off the interstate. This known issue for the 2013 Ford Explorers should be taken care of if they are still coming up under recalls on Ford's website when the VIN is entered.

When driving and going to make a turn or change lanes . The steering wheel will stick and have a little jerk . Had it looked at but could not find anything. It’s been happening since July . I’m afraid it might not turn when I want it to . My husband did notice it when I drove him to airport . Wondering if recall on this .

Driving vehicle along highway, two alerts came on from the computer. Power steering warning, system advancetrac warning. Could hardly steer the vehicle appropriately. My vehicle does not fit in the may 17, 2010, and February 28, 2012, recall as it was manufactured in 08/12 so I cannot fix this issue. The vehicle is unsafe for travel and is just 6 months after the recall making me believe it is apart of the affected vehcile.
What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? the steering system failed completely while the vehicle was in motion. It is currently at the Ford service center in cocoa, florida, and is available for inspection upon request. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? my wife and our two children (ages [xxx] and [xxx] ) were nearly killed due to this catastrophic steering failure. While traveling at approximately 70 mph on [xxx] near west melbourne, florida (between exits xxx and xxx) in the far right lane, the vehicle suddenly and without warning jerked aggressively to the left, crossing into the center lane, nearly causing a high-speed collision with a semi-truck. The truck driver was able to swerve just in time to avoid an accident. At that point, the vehicle became extremely difficult to steer. It continued to pull to the left, and it required all of my wife's strength to get it off the highway and safely stopped on the shoulder. The safety of multiple drivers on the interstate was compromised due to this failure. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? we are currently awaiting confirmation. The vehicle is in the possession of the Ford service center in cocoa, florida, and they are attempting to diagnose the issue. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? the vehicle is currently with Ford. We were told they are trying to recreate the issue by driving it in a field behind the dealership, but as of now, they have not taken the vehicle back out on the road or highway for testing. The florida highway patrol was called at the time of the incident, but they did not dispatch a trooper since there was no crash or contact with another vehicle. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? no. There were no information redacted pursuant to the freedom of.
The steering wheel locked at a 45degree angle while I was driving. It locked and I was unable to turn the wheels in any direction. (diagnosed by dealership as power steering failure steering wheel locked) my safety was absolutely compromised. Imagine losing the ability to turn the steering wheel or steer in any direction while going around a corner, without any warning. Luckily I wasn't on the freeway when the steering wheel locked without warning. Yes, this problem has been reproduced by the dealership at elk grove Ford CA, and reported to the Ford motor corporate office, who refused to look into the safety issue or pay for the repair. The vehicle or component has been inspected by the Ford dealership. There were not any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and the problem appeared on 11/10/24.
Lane keeping system malfunction. Steering assist malfunction. I have no power steering and it’s hard to control vehicle. Ford diagnosed that I need a new steering rack and sensor.

The lane assist system put the vehicle into a skid on snowy road with no markings on roadway. The vehicle is available to inspect but insurance company is pushing to pickup vehicle as it was totaled. The system put vehicle into a skid that resulted into going into the ditch and hitting a power pole. As far as we know nobody has looked into system failure we did report it to sheriff and insurance company. This is the first time the lane departure turned on a snow covered road.
Steering rack moving up and down, steering loose.
I rented a 2023 Ford Explorer. I had many issues with the added safety features while renting it, ultimately resulting in an accident. Firstly, the lane keeping assist did not function properly. In construction zones, back roads, and during rainy weather, the vehicle would jerk very hard to one side of the other. Even after trying to shut off the lane keeping assist feature, it it would automatically turn back on. Luckily, most of those incidents would happen in low traffic areas. Until the final time it happened, resulting in a head on collision with another vehicle. Additionally, the screen that displayed the lane assist activity would go blank randomly while driving. Also. There was a constant issue with the a pop up screen saying to keep holding the steering wheel. Even when I would have both hands on the steering wheel, it would pop up, and sometimes, if it wouldn’t disappear in time, the vehicle would start to automatically brake and slow down the vehicles, even if I was going 70+ miles per hour. The last 12 hours of the vehicle rental drive time, the “keep hold of steering wheel” pop up would pop up more and more frequently. To the point where I would have to constantly let go of the steering wheel and re grab it over and over until it eventually disappear.
Drivers assist failed and caused me to cross lanes into the cable barrier on interstate 40 causing 18,000 dollars worth of damage now the parking assist no longer works.

"steering assist fault" and lane keeping sys. Malfunction" faults appeared on my dash display. The vehicle is available for inspection if requested. When the faults lit up, I was unable to steer the vehicle. It was as if the steering was completely locked up. Fortunately I was driving down the driveway at the time and was able to stop before entering the roadway. If this would have faulted while on the road at any speed I'm sure an accident or death would have resulted from not being able to steer the vehicle. I took it in to a repair shop where they said to fix it would require the rack to be replaced and programmed. They recommended taking it to a dealership to be repaired. This appears to be a known problem to the vehicle manufacture but no recalls have been put out. Parts alone I was quoted $2,500 not including labor and programming costs. Vehicle has only been inspected by a repair shop. Symptoms prior to failure - I bought the car used from a dealership. Took the car back to the dealership a few weeks after purchase because I kept hearing a grinding sound coming from the front end while traveling at highway speed. They test drove it and inspected and said they could not find anything wrong. They ended rotating the tires. This did not help. Drove the car for a year feeling like something was wrong under the hood. Summer of 2022 the air vent control actuator went out and the car would not switch off from defrost mode. I had that replaced by a repair shop. December 22, 2022 as I pulled into the driveway I heard a popping sound coming from the front end as I turned into the driveway. The next morning, Dec 23, 2022 while heading down my driveway the faults appeared and I was unable to steer.
Acceleration issues because of transmission slippage. Transmission slippage, upon acceleration transmission, vibration in slippage. Slipping upon acceleration, low speeds, and high speeds. Clutch plate engaging issues. When putting the car from drive into park on a slight incline, car will bounce back-and-forth roughly 1 inch before stopping.
Driving on i95 south in daytona beach, florida during crowded weekend event traffic, the lane assist malfunctioned, would not turn on and then immediately experienced power steering failure. Both warning and failure lights illuminated on the dashboard. The power steering is electric and turning the wheel was near impossible. I had 4 occupants in the vehicle and almost caused a very severe accident crossing lanes of traffic to attempt to reach the shoulder. It is near impossible to turn the wheel and although the car is driveable, its not steerable. Found out that the nhsta campaign # 14v286000 describes the same issue as I have. Ford recall #14s06 is that recall but the issue I now have is my vehicle was built 1 day after the recall parameters. The car is sitting unable to be safely operated, and I'm asking for nhsta to extend the dates of original recall from February to March to include this vehicle in the existing recall for the necessary repairs.
Steering wheel locked up going 40mph. Received warning for steering fault and for lane keeping system. Restarting vehicle did not help.
All of the sensors are out. Nothing is working. They were working fine then one day I noticed the lane keeping sensors were not working. Today I noticed the side sensors are not working which they were this morning. The middle row seat gets stuck if moved forward, it will not stay back. The button is always stuck so while on the road the seat randomly pops out of place. The wipers do not work properly, only on high speed. I have already called mccombs Ford west in san antonio, TX as I purchased the vehicle there in October of 2021 but they are not worried about it. They said I can go drop it off but they will check it when they get a chance and will not provide a loan car which I cannot do that as I have kids. All the safety features that it should have are not working. They told me it would be weeks before they even look at the vehicle.

I purchased this 2020 Ford Explorer st, used while still under factory warranty. Within a week or two the ipmb module started malfunctioning, this affects all of the safety systems to include reverse brake assist, lane keeping assist, rear view camera and more. I have had the vehicle in two different dealerships over 9 times in the 15 months I have owned this SUV, and within days of the problem being fixed the unit malfunctions again. I have tried to have the vehicle bought back by the dealer through their customer service program and the bbb of michigan, to witch both claims have been denied claiming that the chicle does not fall under the nys lemon law policy for used cars. The issue I have is this problem started within 1-2 weeks if purchasing the vehicle. What are the next steps that can be taken to have Ford motor company but this vehicle from me, as there is recall after recall on the unit in question.
Car jerks from 1st to 2nd gear and sometimes 2nd to 3rd. Also, very long delay when putting the car into reverse. Takes anywhere from 5-10 seconds sometimes to shift into reverse.
Went to the beach this past Saturday and as I was pulling into the turning lane for the state park and alarm went off saying drive assist control failure, and numerous things that no longer work, since then there has been no power steering and it was a miracle we got it home which was an hour and a half away, had this happened while going faster then I could of lost control of the vehicle, and I was going about 10 mph when it alarmed. The pictures show was alerts every time the vehicle is started now. This morning the steering wheel was near impossible to move so my girlfriend who drives the Explorer has to use the back up car that can't hold all of our kids.
When placed in reverse, the back up camera screen turns blue and you cannot see, error alarm sounds on dash.
This issue has happened 4-5 time in a years time. When driving with cruise control and lane assist enabled the car will pull to the left when it see's a dark line in the road. If I were not holding on to the steering wheel I would have been in the lane next to me. I think what's going on is lane keep or lane assist thinks there is a curve in the road and tries to correct for it. Its just a matter of time before a crash happens to a Explorer owner. I have been to the dealership 3 time for this and called Ford but they don't seem to care.
