1 Transmission Pump problem of the 2006 Ford Explorer

Failure Date: 10/30/2015

Difficulty putting vehicle into driving gear while stationary ever since its original purchase in 2006. Transmission pump was replaced in 2010; however, was informed today that this part needs to be replaced again. Vehicle has undergone regular transmission maintenance so not sure how this problem arose again. The initial repair was done at a Ford dealership in germany as I was stationed there due to military obligations. This repair was not covered by power train warranty as we were outside the united states. It placed in the parking position, it becomes very tedious and dangerous when trying to revert gears to reverse or drive.

2 Transmission Pump problem of the 2004 Ford Explorer

Failure Date: 06/04/2009

I own a 2004 Ford Explorer eddie bauer with v-8. Have taken to the dealer numerous times about abrupt and delayed shifting with transmission. Dealer re-programmed transmission with no luck, no recall from Ford but have heard hundreds of complaints on-line about same problem. Truck now has over 90,000 miles and still has same problem. Replaced leaking transmission pump last decembe08 and still hard shifting. Will not return to Ford for repairs when transmission or other drive train parts fail due to the hard up and down shifts, please help!.

3 Transmission Pump problem of the 2002 Ford Explorer

Failure Date: 01/01/2002

Bought Explorer xls 2002 in July 2001. Since owning vehicle have noticed an increase in gear slipping between 2nd and 3rd. Slamming into gear. Dealer unable to reproduce. Charged me $90 to check computer. In 2004 noticed a whining coming from engine, transmission pump failure, replaced. 2 days later, returned to the dealership, the replacement pump also failed. Transmission still shifting hard, increasingly getting worse. I have an extended warranty, worth the money so far. I've read over 160 complaints, all with the same problem. What is Ford thinking? do they think the problem will go away?.
