Four problems related to fuel delivery have been reported for the 1996 Ford F-150. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The vehicle has 2 fuel tanks. While driving, gasoline flows from one tank to the second tank, causing the second tank to overfill. When opening the lid to the second tank, pressure caused by excessive amount of gasoline causes gasoline to spew from the spout onto operator and onto the ground.
Dual tank valve allows fuel to be pumped into front tank until fuel leaks out of filler neck. Dt.
Going 35mph a frontal collision occurred where on impact a fire came from both sides of the hood, causing total damage to the vehicle. Afterwards, saw fuel coming out of one of its fuel lines.
Same problem as 1993 recall. Nhtsa campaign id #01|008000.
